How To Deal With Gaza After Hamas

Hamas' useless idiots Greyson & Loubani switching to Theresa Spence weight loss program

Something anti-Israel fanatics John Greyson and Tarek Loubani evidently didn't count on is that, not counting hardcore Egyptian Islamists, the military coup that removed the Muslim Brotherhood President Mohammed Morsi from power has widespread support among Egyptians.

Protests larger and more intense than anything previous, including what some had called the largest mass protest in the history of the world, made up of up to 20 million people, a quarter of Egypt's population, rallied in Cairo to call to an end to the Muslim Brotherhood's tyranny. Morsi, in true fascist fashion, tried to undermine democracy by giving himself autocratic powers more sweeping than anything claimed by Hosni Mubarak.

Egyptians despise the Muslim Brotherhood and their proxy group Hamas, which is wreaking terror against Egypt in Sinai. It must have come as a shock to Greyson and Loubani that Egyptians would be distinctly unimpressed that they intended to go off to support Muslim Brotherhood-ruled Gaza.

Now supporters of the pair of Hamas terror enablers want Canada's Prime Minister to personally intervene on their behalf or they have threatened to only drink fruit juice for the rest of their 15 day detention period.

From the Globe and Mail:
Dr. Tarek Loubani and John Greyson planned to stop eating on Monday to protest the extension of their detention for another 15 days, said a friend, Justin Podur. The two will drink only fruit juice.
Humans can easily survive on fruit juice for 15 days, particularly under the inactive circumstances afforded by incarceration.

I expect Egypt will want to rid themselves of the useless Canadian idiots in the not distant future. If Egypt wanted to perform an altruistic act of humanitarianism, they should consider extracting a promise from Greyson to stop making the horrible, tasteless, boring creations he has the audacity to describe as "films."

Unfortunately, it's unlikely anything in this world will prevent Greyson from going on some self-promoting, sanctimonious tour when he returns, in which he will be interminably described as a hero. Because among his circle, incredible stupidity and vapid hypocrisy are as close to heroism as they are likely to get.

Losing the Middle East to Putin Isn’t Victory

Jonathan Tobin:
Give Andrew Sullivan some credit. Unlike other supporters of President Obama, he isn’t trying to spin defeat as victory this week. At least he’s not doing it in the way the administration is trying to sell it to the American public. Most liberals are trying to pretend the president’s acceptance of Russia’s bogus offer to negotiate the surrender of Assad’s chemical-weapons stockpile is a sign of U.S. strength, or at least offers the possibility of a diplomatic escape from a conflict in Syria few Americans want any part of. But such transparent deceptions and spin are not for the proprietor of the Daily Dish. Instead, Sullivan believes Obama’s surrender of American influence in the Middle East is actually a good thing. Rather than pretending that Putin’s end zone dance in the New York Times yesterday was meaningless, he thinks the Russian authoritarian’s triumphant mood is good for American national interests and bad for those of Russia.

The problem with this formulation isn’t just that the United States has important national security interests in the Middle East (a point President Obama made clear in his speech this past Tuesday) and that abandoning Israel or disregarding the human-rights aspect of letting Assad and his Russian and Iranian allies win undermines them. What’s most absurd about Sullivan’s rant is his profound misunderstand of how much Russia has to gain and how little it has to lose in taking ownership of the Middle East.

The biochemistry of memory

Almost fifty years ago, Julius Adler initiated a program of research to gain insights into the basic biochemistry of intelligent behavior by studying the molecular mechanisms that underlie the chemotactic responses of Escherichia coli. All living organisms share elements of a common biochemistry for metabolism, growth and heredity — why not intelligence? Neurobiologists have demonstrated that this is the case for nervous systems in animals ranging from worms to man. Motile unicellular organisms such as E. coli exhibit rudimentary behaviors that can be loosely described in terms of cognitive phenomena such as memory and learning. Adler’s initiative at least raised the prospect that, because of the numerous experimental advantages provided by E. coli, it would be the first organism whose behavior could be understood at molecular resolution.

Marxism, Forever

John Podhoretz in Commentary Magazine:

I made a mistake yesterday, as people with a taste for smart-mouthery on the Internet often do, by responding too quickly to something. On Wednesday, the leftist social critic Marshall Berman died. On Thursday, the website Tablet published an appreciation of him and his life by Todd Gitlin. Gitlin is a good writer and Berman was his friend and it was a sweet piece. It was the headline that struck me. “Marxist Humanist Mensch,” the piece was called. My tweet read: “Imagine a tribute to a Nazi humanist mensch.”
The purpose of that tweet, if one must locate a purpose in a one-liner, was simple. Why, after the real-world manifestations of Marxism in the 20th century had led to (by some estimates) 60 million deaths, would it still be considered a positive thing to be described as a “Marxist”? No one on earth wishes to be described as a Nazi, because of the murderousness of that real-world political philosophy; why would this not be the same with Marxism?

Useful idiots Greyson and Loubani have their Egyptian vacation extended

Hamas York University Film Professor John Greyson and his pal Tarek Loubani will be detained by Egyptian authorities for another 15 days, it was reported today.

No charges have been filed against the duo, but the Egyptian government has accused them of conspiring with the Muslim Brotherhood.

The emasculation of the American Presidency: Syria hails 'victory' in chemical arms deal, Assad forces attack in Damascus

Syria's government hailed as a "victory" a Russian-brokered deal that has averted U.S. strikes. President Barack Obama, meanhwile, defended a chemical weapons pact that the rebels fear has bolstered their enemy in the civil war.

Disgusting Canadian cretin desecrates US 9-11 memorial

For the past ten years students at Vermont’s Middlebury College have setup a simple memorial for victims of 9/11. Members of the College Democrats & Republicans lay out 2,977 American flags- one for each person who was killed.  Despite their many political differences, people from both groups (and society in general) agree it was tragic so many people were killed.
It takes a special type of sleaze bag to desecrate a memorial for the dead. In this case it took five- one student, and four people from outside. They came, armed with garbage bags, removed each flag and threw them in the trash. The apparent leader of this incident comes from Peterborough, Ontario- her name is Amanda Lickers, and she’s no stranger to sleazy protests.

Putin's Op Ed Flips Obama the Bird, Tells Americans Not to Feel Special

Mitch Wolfe in the HuffPo:

The thuggish Putin thinks that Obama and the U.S. are so weakened, that he had the chutzpah to pen a highly critical Op Ed Piece in the New York Times, criticizing, among other things, America's view of itself as exceptional and unique. And criticizing hypocritically the U.S. for contemplating a military action, when Russia has been supplying arms to Assad to assist his regime in killing and gassing 100,000 of his own people.
According to liberal CNN on Wednesday night, all the panellists agreed that Putin's Op Ed piece in the NY Times, was Putin's way of flipping the bird to Obama and the American people.

The University of Toronto inflicts a demented form of education on students at OISE

The blog Socialist Studies uncovered the new Calendar at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE).

OISE is a neo-Marxist cesspool that does its utmost do indoctrinate its students to absorb its anti-capitalist, moral relativist propaganda. Worse still, it tries to push that indoctrination to children at the elementary school level and even younger.

This is the school that was, until recently, the home of Professor Ben Levin, the former Deputy Education Minister responsible for trying to introduce a highly sexualized curriculum for young children that was held back by former Premier Dalton McGuinty, In what many view as not entirely coincidental to the curriculum he attempted to forward, Levin was arrested recently on charges of producing and distributing child pornography.

But even worse obscenities are part of daily life at OISE. The new OISE calendar promotes Communist totalitarians and deranged, violent activist groups like the Ontario Coalition Against Poverty, a group that advocates for class warfare and has instigated riots.

OISE's new Chair of its "Social Justice Education" Department is a polemical Communist promoter of lunatic conspiracy theories by the name of Abigail Bakan. More information about her is available HERE and HERE.

The Hypocrisy of Using TIFF as a Political Platform

So filmmaker John Greyson's friends use the platform of TIFF to clamour for his release from an Egyptian jail. Academics, actors, writers and other filmmakers of international repute. That's what friends do for friends, right?

But hold on for a minute. Let's review some of that equation.

Let's first talk about the sheer hypocrisy of using TIFF as a platform, and then we'll focus on working in the field and getting arrested in the first place.

This is the same John Greyson who, in 2009, used the same TIFF platform to make a very vocal protest against the Festival's "City to City" spotlight on Tel Aviv.

And in protest he withdrew his short film, Covered.

Greyson criticized "the opportunism of TIFF, which seems increasingly eager to court dubious partnerships, such as the Israeli consulate's 'Brand Israel Campaign,'" and asked about "the extent of Israeli sponsorship."

Russia's Putin is no longer just a rival; he's an enemy

AFP - Russian President Vladimir Putin will offer to supply Iran S-300 air defence missile systems as well as build a second reactor at the Bushehr nuclear plant, the Kommersant business daily reported Wednesday.

Putin will renew an old offer to supply Iran with five of the sophisticated ground-to-air missile systems at a meeting with Iranian President Hassan Rowhani on Friday, Kommersant said, quoting a souce close to the Kremlin.

Washington Muslim rally vastly outnumbered by bikers, counterprotesters

A few dozen demonstrators attending a rally on the Mall once billed as the Million Muslim March were vastly outnumbered Wednesday by a Christian group objecting to their event and a counterprotest consisting of motorcycle riders honoring Sept. 11 victims.

The noon rally, called the Million American March Against Fear took place between 13th and 14th streets in Northwest and was sponsored by the American Muslim Political Action Committee.

Speakers — among them author and Princeton University professor Cornel West — struck mainstream themes, calling for social justice for Muslims while promoting peace and condemning violence. Attendees also held a moment of silence to honor Sept. 11 victims.

Ruby Sous, from Kansas City, stressed that Muslims and American-Muslims “stand with America against terrorism.” “We want to stand here in solidarity with the American people against hate and violence,” she said.

But other speakers addressed fringe topics, condemning what they called the use of U.S. tax dollars to kill innocent people in the Middle East and advancing conspiracy theories around the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
