Happy Canada Day from Eye on a Crazy Planet

To celebrate Canada's birthday, a nostalgic look at some classic Canadian entertainment.

As Canadian kids, we had some domestic programming that we were treated to that warped our little minds. There was The Friendly Giant, Uncle Bobby, Mr. Dress-Up. But the weirdest and best was a show produced by Hamilton, Ontario's CHCH and starred the comedian Billy Van in a variety of roles...

Canada is known for producing some of the world's funniest comedians and the first to gain international attention were Wayne & Schuster:





There are so many great Canadian singers and songwriters, it would be impossible to narrow them down to a few and do any justice to the breadth of musical talent that Canada has produced over the years. But for me, nothing says Canadian music better than Gordon Lightfoot:



There is so much we can say about Canada's illustrious past, but what will Canada's future look like?
