And the award for bad taste in promotional efforts goes to...

Name brand manufacturers frequently and without solicitation send celebrities free stuff, hoping that if a famous person decides to wear, drive, etc their product, it'll serve as a promotion.

But it seems some people don't know where the boundaries of propriety and good taste end.

In Hollywood, you say!? Who'd have thunk it!?

Celebrity gossip site TMZ reports that a funeral company called The Golden Casket as decided, as a promotion, to send Zsa Zsa Gabor a free gold-plated casket worth $40,000.00

Another rule the Golden Casket people seem to have forgotten is that a gift is generally only appreciated if you can use it when you're alive.

Yipes!
