Marxist, activist radio back on air

Judge gives CKLN stay of execution -

CKLN, the problem-besieged Ryerson University "student" radio station that was taken over by Trotskyist activists to the dismay of many of Ryerson's student body, recently had its license revoked by the Canadian Radio Television Commission.

According to Ryerson's student newspaper, The Eyeopener:

CKLN 88.1FM will continue broadcasting after a judge ruled they could continue operations until a federal court will decide if the station can go forward with their appeal against the CRTC.
On Jan. 28, the Canadian Radio-Televison and Communications Commission (CRTC) announced the decision to revoke the station’s licence after several instances of non-compliance with the commission’s standards for broadcasting, including failing to fill necessary paperwork and a lack of balanced representation on the station’s board of governors.
The court is not expected to rule until April at the earliest. Until then, the station will remain on the air.

  3. An anonymous poster left a comment at 10:20 pm which I cannot publish due to its potentially slanderous nature, but the gist is that (s)he alleges that the site referred to in the previous comment is run by an extremist.

I have no opinion or information on that, and it may be true, but I do find the causepimps site to be quite interesting.

I don't like to censor user comments, as my readers know. The comment, with my expunging of certain words was:

That site is run by T** R*****, a leftard kook and ex-****** p****** who's too extreme even for OCAP.

  6. The website that claims CKLN is "Trotskyist" is based at a Red Chinese (Hong Kong) ISP (IP: 203.98.189.54 IP Location: Shek Pai Wan Resettlement Estate, Hong Kong) and liberally quotes a guy who is a follower of North Korea, Saddam Hussein and Slobo Milosovic http://www.axisofevilradio.com/ Take anything he says with a ton of salt and an ounce of Mao.

  7. CKLN is/was home to "OCAP radio." OCAP is a militant anti-capitalist organization and they promote their link to CKLN on their website:
