A series of reports to executive committee — penned by the very bureaucrats who’ve sat on their hands throughout this mess — says Pride has not been in violation of the city’s grants or anti-discrimination policies for allowing QuAIA to march.
Surprise, surprise.
One report, put together by the leftist bureaucrats in the social development division headed by Chris Brillinger, says the city’s grants policy does not include any provisions preventing an organization from being funded due to the use of the term “Israeli Apartheid” or “any other language that may be considered offensive” but not hateful under the Criminal Code. Another written by Uzma Shakir, the city’s $144,998 director of equity and diversity, allegedly updates the city’s anti-discrimination and hate policies in response to the QuAIA issue.
Except there is a small problem. Shakir has openly written anti-Israel sentiments on rabble.ca (a virulent anti-Israel website operated by former Trotskyite Judy Rebick).
