From reader Douglas D.:
"When the French foreign minister says France won't be party to a "sucker's deal," you know the administration has completely lost international credibility. The Saudi tantrum at the UN last month signaled a tipping point. US allies are really starting to freak out about a completely feckless and irresponsible US Mideast policy. France of all nations - stepping up again (Mali, Lybia) despite - or perhaps because of - last week's S&P downgrade."
....French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius also said it was not clear the delegations would succeed in nailing down an acceptable interim deal that would begin to defuse fears of a stealthy Iranian advance towards nuclear arms capability.
"As I speak to you, I cannot say there is any certainty that we can conclude," Fabius told France Inter radio, saying Paris could not accept a "sucker's deal".
