It's strange and creepy to us but if you remember that photography was in its infancy and it was very expensive to go to a studio and have your photograph taken and so very few people would have photographs of themselves or their loved ones you can understand the thinking here - I don't have a photograph of my loved one, or of me and my loved one, from when he or she was alive so getting one when they are dead is better than not having one at all.
Im wondering if there is any way that you know where this picture originally came from? I have someone who looks exactly like the guys in this picture and I would love to investigate further! Thanks!!
