More horrors from Egypt's "Arab Spring" - approval of female genital mutilation by Presidential Woman's Affairs Adviser

The Woman's Affairs Adviser for Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood President, Mohamed Morsi is threatening to sue a newspaper which claimed she said "  “a woman who is not circumcised is not a true believer.”

Omyama Kamel clarified her meaning in her twitter feed, where she wrote that female circumcision is not permitted until puberty at which point it is permissible but not necessary.

I'm sure that will come as a big relief to any 12 year old Egyptian girl who is forced by her parents to have her clitoris chopped off with the approbation of that country's top Woman's Affairs Adviser.
