Earlier today actress Katee Sackhoff—who played the gun-toting, tough-talking gender-bent Starbuck on Battlestar Galactica—tweeted about an incident in which a 4-year-old boy accidentally shot his father:

She followed up with a response to a fan advocating aggressive gun control:

Gay Rights and Gun Rights Linked in Seattle Posters, Causing Gun Control Freaks' Heads To Explode

Across Seattle, reports alt-weekly The Stranger, posters are appearing linking gay rights and gun rights in ways that are just freaking out the usual control-freaky suspects. Some of the posters suggest that disliking guns is just like disliking homosexuality: a personal foible that ought not be turned into legislation. Other posters suggest that armed gays "aren't going to take shit from homophobes." It's clearly inconceivable that anybody could actually hold in his or her mind, simultaneously, a regard for the right of people to love who they want and respect for the right of self-defense, so it must be some horrible, trollish plot.

"We should be telling men not to rape women" was the simple-minded solution offered by Democratic Party strategist Zerlina Maxwell to the way of stopping rape in America.

This was on Sean Hannity's show on Fox News where Maxwell appeared alongside Amanda Collins, the young rape survivor who testified in the Colorado legislature that had she been allowed to carry her licensed, concealed firearm, she would have been able to prevent her attack.

The attacker in Collins' case went on to rape two other women and murder one of them and he is now on Death Row.

The idiocy of Maxwell's logic is beyond absurd. People are educated not to steal, and yet the number of thefts in the US amount to many billions of dollars worth each year. No male with any reasonable education in America is oblivious to the fact that rape is a crime.

If there were an Olympic team for Stupid, Ms Maxwell could be America's captain.

More on the idiocy and Orwellian intrusions into the lives of citizens in Ontario  by government agencies. A man was arrested and compelled to submit to  a search of his home because his daughter drew a picture of him holding  a toy gun in class.

Anyone who knows any civil servants should realize, that while many if not most are nice people, very, very few have the intelligence or capabilities to be given real authority over our lives.

One of Jared Loughner's shooting victims arrested for death threat against Tea Party spokesman

TUCSON, Ariz. — A Tucson mass shooting victim was taken into custody Saturday after yelling "you're dead" at a Tea Party spokesman during the taping of an ABC-TV town hall event hosted by Christianne Amanpour. 

The Pima County Sheriff's Office said J. Eric Fuller, 63, was involuntarily committed to an undisclosed medical facility, NBC News reported. The Associated Press said he was undergoing a psychiatric evaluation. ...  

KGUN reported that Fuller took exception to comments by Republican state Rep. Terri Proud and Tucson Tea Party spokesman Trent Humphries.

Fuller was in the front row and apparently became upset when Humphries suggested that any conversations about gun control should be delayed until all the dead were buried, KGUN reported. 

Fuller took a picture of Humphries and shouted, “You’re dead.”
