University of Southern California's idiotic responses to campus rapes

The U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights (OCR) has launched an investigation into the University of Southern California's response to rape reports. More than thirteen students filed a Title IX  claim in May, saying they had been victims of "extensive failures on the part of USC administrators and the Department of Public Safety (DPS) in responding to reports of sexual violence on campus," and the specifics of the allegations are horrifying.  

One student, who remains anonymous, said a Department of Public Safety (DPS) detective told her campus police determined no rape occurred in her case because her alleged rapist did not orgasm.

They decided to go to the nearest police station and in the presence of the father of one of the young women who happened to be a lawyer, they were blatantly threatened that if they were to press charges against the man who attacked them – slapping one of them across the face – he and his family will also press charges of public indecency. The police officers backed him up and told them that this will be on their record. The young women dropped charges and only posted about the incident on social media networks

A horrendous story of the horrors of Islamic Sharia Law in the United Arab Emirates where an Australian woman was drugged and raped.

A failure of justice

The heartbreaking story of Rehtaeh Parsons, who killed herself in the aftermath of a gang rape points to a justice system that completely failed her.

There are other culprits as well, most obviously the rapists. Her ordeal was compounded by deplorable people in her community who rather than offer support, taunted her through social media.

But when someone sends around pictures of a 15 year old being raped, it is distribution of child pornography and there should have been prosecutions.

We need tougher sentencing for sexual assault in this country and police who prosecute violent felons instead of concentrating on those who give cultural offense.

Using a serial rapist as a role model for kids? Thanks again Toronto District School Board!

One of the TDSB's role models they extol for Black History Month is serial rapist Eldridge Cleaver.

In his 1968 collection of essays titles Soul on Ice, the former Black Panther leader wrote:

"Rape was an insurrectionary act. It delighted me that I was defying and trampling upon the white man’s law, upon his system of values, and that I was defiling his women – and this point, I believe, was the most satisfying to me because I was very resentful over the historical fact of how the white man has used the black woman. I felt I was getting revenge. 

I started out practicing on black girls in the ghetto where dark and vicious deeds appear not as aberrations or deviations from the norm, but as part of the sufficiency of the Evil of a day. When I considered myself smooth enough, I crossed the tracks and sought out white prey. I did this consciously, deliberately, willfully, methodically."

Interestingly, later in life, Cleaver renounced his past and became a conservative Republican. Naturally, the ideological nitwits at the TDSB omitted that from his biographical notes.

Though there are many incredible role models for Black History Month who are Republicans or conservatives, the fanatics who run the Toronto District School Board don't want children "of color" to grow up to admire anyone who doesn't embrace identity politics and entitlements.

Among the conspicuous omissions from the TDSB's list of role models are the brilliant authors and philosophers Shelby Steele and Thomas Sowell, the military hero and former Congressman Allen West, and Former US Secretaries of State during George W. Bush's Presidency, Colin Powell and Condoleeza Rice.

Making the list, aside from the rapist Cleaver, was anti-Semitic author Alice Walker and Liberal patronage appointee Anne Cools.

Democrats' stupid solution for rape

"We should be telling men not to rape women" was the simple-minded solution offered by Democratic Party strategist Zerlina Maxwell to the way of stopping rape in America.

This was on Sean Hannity's show on Fox News where Maxwell appeared alongside Amanda Collins, the young rape survivor who testified in the Colorado legislature that had she been allowed to carry her licensed, concealed firearm, she would have been able to prevent her attack.

The attacker in Collins' case went on to rape two other women and murder one of them and he is now on Death Row.

The idiocy of Maxwell's logic is beyond absurd. People are educated not to steal, and yet the number of thefts in the US amount to many billions of dollars worth each year. No male with any reasonable education in America is oblivious to the fact that rape is a crime.

If there were an Olympic team for Stupid, Ms Maxwell could be America's captain.

Former Canadian radical leftist leader accused of rape

The website Anti-Racist Canada is reporting that Michael David Rosenberg aka Mike Rza, a former leader of the "anti-Fascist" movement has been accused of being a serial rapist.

According to the website, the accusations surfaced in an online discussion group and included allegations of  rapes. Anti-Racist Canada also posted what is purported to be an online statement by Rosenberg which if true amounts to a confession of rape of a minor.

Part of this tragedy is the account the website relayed from one of the alleged victims, who wrote:I wish that I reported the rape sooner but I was scared of everyones' reactions towards me. I would of had more evidence to of convict him and then I wouldn't have to hear of another victim.

This sad situation may have in part been caused by a facet of socialist, far-left activist culture which discourages involving the police in sexual assault cases, as the authorities are viewed as "the enemy" and "agents of class oppression" by radical groups.

Fortunately, Anti-Racist Canada is behaving responsibly and encouraging anyone with pertinent information to contact police.

One of his accusers, a WikiLeaks supporter, admits she had consensual sex with (Wiki-leaks founder, Julian)  Assange in August 2010 but woke the following morning to find he was having sex with her again, without using a condom.

Mr Galloway said this could not be rape, as the pair had already had sex and were ‘already in the sex game’. 

He went on: ‘It might be really bad manners not to have tapped her on the shoulder and said, “Do you mind if I do it again?”.   

‘It might be really sordid and bad sexual etiquette, but whatever else it is, it is not rape or you bankrupt the term rape of all meaning.’

Why is it a surprise that the people who devised something called "SlutWalk" aren't geniuses?

A couple of years ago a Toronto cop trying to provide some self-protection tips to women after a string of sexual assaults at York University tells them no to "dress like sluts" if they are walking around alone late at night. A poor choice of words to be sure, but the incident became distorted into a shrill "he's blaming the victim!" trope.  An elderly person has a right to walk around the dangerous projects at Jane and Finch with money hanging out of their pockets, but that too is a bad idea, given the realities of the world. There are bad people out there and it is sensible to take measures to protect yourself from them.

The issue should have gone away, but some enterprising, self-promoting lefty women decided a marketing scheme could be spawned of this and the SlutWalk was born, along with its official t-shirts, water bottles and buttons, all sold at a handsome profit.

So for two years now, in Toronto and  other cities, an addle-minded sisterhood march occurs punctuated with a few lamprey-like, soppy, pathetic men who feign sensitivity and compassion while hoping to meet some genuine sluts. As a matter of principle, the gathering of people to denounce sexual violence and the right of women to walk the streets safely is admirable, but is far from a new idea; Take Back The Night walks have been around since the mid 1970's.  

The SlutWalk twist is the angle that women have the right to be sluts, but only with whom they choose. While that right is indisputable (at least in civilized western countries) the idea of taking to the streets to declare it is another manifestation of narcissistic activists self-promoting than any tangible blow for women's rights or safety.

While there's no evidence that the SlutWalks have prevented a single sexual assault or altered anyone's views towards promiscuity, they have garnered some measure of attention for the event's founders and organizers. Unfortunately for them, they have fallen into an easily-set trap that shows that they are not-to bright and hypocritical.

That exposure came about through the publicizing of a Toronto Muslim street preacher's call for legislation forcing women to wear modest clothing in order to, in the opinion of Al-Haashim Kamena Atangana,  prevent their being raped.

While Atangana is not a person of great significance within the Muslim community, when pronouncement became a news item, it more or less forced women's organizations to take a stand. Virtually all those contacted by The Toronto Sun, which first reported the matter, condemned the preposterous proposal.

The notable exception was SlutWalk's founders and organizers, who decided that they were more as outraged with Sun News than they were with Mr. Atagana. Histrionically accusing Sun News of misogyny and the same type of "blame the victim" mentality as the preacher, SlutWalk's spokespeople revealed their vapidity and politically-correct hypocrisy.

Coming from the Marxist school of thought that divides the world into a binary equation of oppressor and oppressed, SlutWalk's organizers are more fearful of being accused of "Islamophobia" than of seriously being pro-women's rights.

Women's rights are routinely assailed within Islam, even in progressive Toronto, yet SlutWalk 's attention seekers are firmly ensconced among the useful idiots of the left who go after the soft, safe targets of government authority while turning a blind eye to the real threats that face women.

So they are more interested in launching shrill attacks against The Sun's columnists like Anthony Furey, who wrote about their hypocrisy. Though what Mr. Atangana proposed is far more egregious and draconian than anything Toronto Police Constable Michael Sanguinetti said that instigated the Slut Walks, the brand has now become the issue for SlutWalk, and we can now see that the brand stands for nothing.

Rather than actually doing anything tangible to fight for women, SlutWalk is content in showing their supposed moral superiority through tiresome hysteria towards Daniel Tosh, who made a joke about rape. Tosh's joke was in poor taste, but was as genuine an advocacy of rape as a joke about Luka Magnotta is a genuine advocacy of murder and cannibalism.

None of this, of course, is in any way surprising. After all, it would be silly to expect anything but ditziness from people who would create something called a Slut Walk.  The only surprise is that people would expect anything other than that from them.

Did you hear the one about the idiot who went to the Daniel Tosh show?

Today's tempest in a teapot revolves around an offended audience member at a Daniel Tosh show at the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles.

When asked for topics to discuss, someone in the crowd suggested "rape" and after Tosh made a sarcastic remark about rape jokes being always funny, one outraged attendee shouted out, "Actually, rape jokes are never funny!"

The heckle, unsurprisingly, was like blood in the water for Tosh, who then mused about how funny it would be if the heckler got gang raped in the club during his set.

Rape of course isn't funny, but Tosh is one of those comedians for whom no topic is off limits. His jokes are frequently racist, homophobic, misogynistic, gross, and very funny.

After a blog post by the aggrieved party, a campaign is now underway by humorless feminists (yes, I know that term is tautological) to have Viacom punish Tosh, whose Comedy Central show Tosh.0 is one of that network's most successful programs.

But the question remains, what kind of idiot would actually attend a show by Daniel Tosh, who is renowned for being offensive, and them complain because they were offended?
