Ontario Attorney General says it's now legal to call for Jews to be shot

Ontario Attorney General Refuses to Act

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

TORONTO, January 31, 2014 — B’nai Brith Canada, the country’s senior Jewish human rights organization, has been informed that the Ontario Attorney General (AG) has not consented to the laying of hate crime charges against Mr. Elias Hazineh. Hazineh, who spoke at the Iranian-inspired Al-Quds Day rally at Queen's Park to an adoring crowd, was caught on video issuing an ultimatum that Israeli Jews either leave Jerusalem or be shot.

Heinous words, but not criminal. Hate speech laws are much worse than the problems they set out to solve. They should be scrapped, and all speech should be allowed to enter the marketplace of ideas.

Normally, I'd agree, but when you start threatening to shoot people, a legal line has been crossed, or should be.

But Wynne's vote-whoring government isn't going to alienate one of its main constituencies. She's the MPP for the riding that has the Mosqueteria, so she is more than willing to play identity politics to try to win an election.

If you don't believe me, just as an experiment, publicly threaten to shoot Muslims and see if you get the same result.
