Israel supporters should boycott Ottawa's terra20 stores

Scarlett Johansson in a Sodastream ad
terra20, a two-store outfit in Ottawa that sells eco/organic products announced last week that it will cease to sell Israeli-made Sodastream products because, they say, of "concerns held by a number of individuals and groups with regards to Sodastream operating a production facility in a West Bank settlement."

The "individuals and groups" so described tend to be anti-Semitic and/or virulently anti-Israel, and devoted to the elimination of the Jewish State, but I suppose that would be a minor detail for terra20's corporate leadership. As of the publication of this post, terra20 is still selling Sodastream accessories on its website, since their "ethical stance" evidently doesn't extend to not wanting to maximize its profits on existing stock.

The company is chaired by Steve Kaminski, who is also the Director of Colonade Investments. A media inquiry about the terra20 boycott of Sodastream products led to a number provided which was for Colonade Investments.

The affect of terra20, which has only two outlets, no longer carrying Sodastream will be economically of no significance whatsoever. However, for a desperate BDS campaign against Israel conducted by a variety of demented extremists, even something this minor will come as a psychological victory to them. The bizarre Independent Jewish Voices, a collection of losers, oddball bigots, and emotionally unbalanced creeps, founded by the weird 9-11 conspiracy theorist Diana Ralph, is crowing about the terra20 boycott on its website.

Supporters of the Israel, which is in an ongoing struggle against the terror group Hamas, may wish to return the favor to terra20 and boycott both that company and its parent organization, Colonade Investments, Colonade Develoment, and Colonade Management. It seems there's a reason Colonade Management starts with a Colon.

UPDATE July, 2015: It seems that as of now, the Terra20 anti-Israel boycott has been called off.

Too stupid to be Prime Minister: Justin Trudeau gets asked a non-softball question and assumes it's from Sun News

Justin "le Dauphin" Trudeau was asked whether he thinks it's wise to talk to the Taliban by a CBC news reporter on Parliament Hill. Obviously not used to getting asked serious questions by the Canada's consensus media, Trudeau immediately assumed the reporter was from Sun News.

Trudeau then avoided giving a straight answer to the question. But in fairness, it's Justin Trudeau we're talking about, so maybe he didn't understand it.

Canada's useful idiots of Jihad

Canadians are on their guard against the growing Islamist threat. After all, the last month alone brought the Boston Marathon bombing, and arrests in Canada of suspected Iranian-linked al-Qaeda bomb-plotters targeting Canada-US passenger train routes. Add to that, repeated stories of Islamist radicalism in Canadian neighborhoods and young Canadian Muslim terrorists abroad.
Against this backdrop, the last thing to be expected at this fraught time would be a public event in Canada's capital showcasing a radical Islamist, boasting a master of ceremonies from the tax-funded Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, involving a respected mental health foundation, and including the wife of the highest office-holder in the land. Nonetheless, this is what is being planned for Ottawa, this weekend.

Ottawa Catholic School Board officials lie about taking kids to US to work for Obama

I’m not sure what kind of penance a priest would give for lying to an entire city, but Catholic school principal Norma McDonald may soon find out.
Through the release of internal e-mails, memos and other documents via the freedom of information act, it is clear McDonald either lied to the media and the public last fall or had no clue what she was agreeing to when she approved a controversial field trip.
McDonald is the principal of St. Peter’s High School in OrlĂ©ans that garnered national attention over a planned field trip where Grade 11 civics students would “observe” the American election. A parent complained the trip was an endorsement of Democratic candidate Barack Obama. The parent said it was inappropriate for Catholic school students to campaign for Obama given his strong support for abortion.
McDonald, of course, said that was not the case.

Police thuggery?

Most police are good guys doing a tough job.

If this report is accurate, the Ottawa P.D. is doing itself and its reputation a huge disservice by allowing these perpetrators to keep their badges:

Two years ago a young woman named Stacy Bonds was walking along an Ottawa sidewalk on her way to a friend’s house. Bonds is 27, just five feet tall, weighs barely 100 pounds. She’s not a trouble-maker, has no criminal history, no record of causing problems for police. She had — horrors — enjoyed a few drinks, though a judge ruled later that she was not drunk. Two police officers stopped her, checked her out, discovered she was harmless and told her to be on her way. She took a few steps, then stopped and asked them why they’d stopped her in the first place.
That got her handcuffed, thrown in the back of a cruiser and spirited off to the police station, where police pulled her hair, kneed her in the back a couple of times, slammed her to the ground with a riot shield, cut off her clothes and bra while a few male officers watched, and strip-searched her.
That done, they threw her in a cell, half-naked, for three hours. They charged her with public drunkenness — though she wasn’t — and with aggressive behaviour, though a video showed that wasn’t true either.
Now, how big a moron do you have to be to pull a stunt like this?
