For "Elmo" Elmasry's Canadian Charger, throwing shoes and tomatoes at the US Secretary of State is a "peaceful demonstration"

I suppose by Elmasry's standards, hurling objects at someone is peaceful.

He is, after all, the same Mohamed Elmasry, the founder of the Canadian Islamic Congress, who declared he thinks every Israeli over the age of 18 is a legitimate target for murder and terrorism.

The latest target to have earned a petulant-looking caricature drawing  in Elmasry's 9-11 conspiracy promoting, Islamist online rag The Canadian Charger is Professor Salim Mansur. Mansur now joins the ranks of journalists Jonathan Kay, Ezra Levant and Michael Coren for that honor.

An editorial, with mangled syntax reflecting marginal literacy, by an Erica Aden concludes with the following gems of insight:

You say because Egyptians threw tomatoes and shoes at her motorcade while chanting "Monica", that in your opinion describes a vulgar and violent act that only a Muslims are capable of doing so.  

To me it sounds like a peaceful legitimate demonstration which is an essential component of democracy, so are you proposing that just because Egyptians are Muslims they cannot exercise their democratic rights?  

I agree with your suggestion that "Hillary's message likely will be unheeded", after all her biggest ally in the region and so called "only democracy in the Middle East" Israel has been literally running a concentration camp for its minorities, not a good example for the fledgling democracy of Egypt. 

I hope you do not lecture your students with such biased political outlook.

Islamist website Canadian Charger reports North American Muslim Foundation Director has never heard of Iran, Pakistan or Saudi Arabia

"Mr. Levant cites comments by Imam Abdullah Hakim Quick – an honoured guest in a recent series of lectures at NAMF – as an example of extremist views being propagated by NAMF.

Mr. Khan agrees that Imam Quick said that Islam's position on homosexuality is that they should be put to death, but Mr. Khan said Imam Quick's remarks were taken out of context. He said he was responding to a question as to what would be the punishment in an Islamic state, and Mr. Khan added that there are no Islamic states in the world today. "

The excerpt above is from Islamist, 9-11 conspiracist website, The Canadian Charger, founded by former Canadian Islamic Congress President Mohamed Elmasry, that was contained in an article meant to slam author and Sun TV host, Ezra Levant.

In the Canadian Charger report titled, Ezra Levant smears Islam and Muslims, North American Muslim Foundation Director Farooq Khan was attempting to deny Levant's accusation that his organization spreads hate. If The Canadian Charger's account is accurate, then it not only confirmed Levant's contention, but made Khan look like a disingenuous ignoramus in the process.

One of the good things about telling the truth is that you don't have to keep track of your lies.

Anyone who reads a newspaper knows that there indeed are Islamic states in the world today. They even have "Islamic" in their countries' official names, such as The Islamic Republic of Iran and Islamic Republic of Pakistan. It is bizarre that the director of the NAMF would claim such countries don't exist. But then, anyone with experience with a certain type of arrogance knows that when some people are caught in a difficult situation, they will say anything that pops in their head, no matter how incredible.

But there is something even more insidious about the dishonesty of Farooq Khan and the enablers and apologists at The Canadian Charger, who want to defend hate by trying to label those who expose it as "Islamophobes." The fact is that the state-killing of Gays in Islamic countries is not hypothetical. It is tragically real and ongoing.

Islamic republics and countries where Islamic laws are in place, such as Yemen, Sudan and Saudi Arabia still maintain the death penalty against people whose only crime is their sexual orientation. Iran has executed at least 4000 people for homosexuality since the Khomeini Revolution in 1979.

By lying about and denying the genuine homophobia in Islamic states, The North American Muslim Society and The Canadian Charger not only mangle what little credibility they may have, but perpetuate prejudice against Gays in Muslim communities and Islamic countries by failing to address its reality.

9-11 Conspiracy Crackpot compares questions about public funding for his marginal theories to Salman Rushdie's death sentence

Blogger Blazing Cat Fur alerted us to the latest nuttiness from the always-crazy Canadian Charger.

Jonathan Kay over at The National Post wrote a column about a grant to a British graduate student,  Joshua Blakeney, to pursue his crackpot 9-11 conspiracy theories. Blakeney is also a sometime correspondent for Mohamed Elmasry's Canadian Charger, as shown in a post from this blog back in August. (Check out the video in the link where Blakeney says that Michael Moore, of all people, is complicit in the 9-11 cover up!)

Kay wrote that:

the University of Lethbridge has awarded Blakeney a $7,714 Queen Elizabeth II Graduate Scholarship to pursue his research. (The scholarship is listed as being funded through the “ongoing financial commitment of the Province of Alberta.”) ..  

In other words, the University of Lethbridge — and, through the province of Alberta’s funding arrangements, the taxpayers of Alberta — are paying a British graduate student $7,714 to pursue his conspiracy theory that the 9/11 attacks were staged by Washington.   

Does anyone else see a problem with that?

Well, Mohamed "Elmo" Elmasry's Charger not only doesn't see a problem with that, but is outraged; outraged to the point of grammatical and syntax errors, that Kay would challenge the academic freedom of having tax dollars subsidize theories put forward by people whose sanity could be questioned.

My favorite bit from the editorial in Elmo's Charger is the following, where he quotes Blakeney's thesis supervisor, University of Lethbridge Professor Anthony Hall, about Kay:

It seems to me that The National Post and Maclean’s are essentially trying to put a fatwa on higher level university studies on 9/11. Such a fatwa would clear aside empirically-based research so Jonathan can engage in his own spinning of public mythology posing as the psychoanthropologist who has penetrated the deepest cultural mores of the... ta daaaa... the conspiracy theorists. How pathetic!”   

Dr. Hall said the website advertising the book lauds Mr. Kay's success in “infiltrating” the “Truthers”, language Dr. Halls said is probably an accurate characterization of “Mr. Kay's mode of doing journalistic business as an agent of espionage and counterintelligence for those above him in the chain of command. He and the promoters at Maclean's of a privatized higher education system for Canada are good embodiments of the unfolding operations of the privatized terror economy.”

You know you have a credible, highly regarded academic when he uses phrases like "ta daaaa" in his interviews. But that's not nearly as fascinating as Hall's allegation that Kay is "doing journalistic business as an agent of espionage and counterintelligence for those above him in the chain of command."

This is what I'm having trouble understanding: Hall seems to be mocking Kay for characterizing him and his fellow travellers as 'conspiracy theorists'. And then in his next sentence, he alleges a conspiracy involving Jonathan Kay.

The extent to which a person making those remarks is completely unhinged is something people will have to determine for themselves.

But to give you another indication of the lack of intellectual rigour, or just plain lack of intelligence on the part of these people, Blakeney is quoted as saying, "Where are the Salman Rushdie defenders now? Or do such individuals only like free speech if it criticizes Islam rather than helps exculpate framed Muslims who probably didn’t plan or execute 9/11?"

Let's put this in terms that perhaps, just perhaps, Mr. Blakeney and Elmasry might be able to understand.

No one is denying Blakeney his right to speak his theories or to publish them. What is being questioned is whether crackpot theories should receive public funding. That is significantly different than Salman Rushdie being threatened with death for having written a satirical allegory about the founder of Islam.

In my opinion, only a person with a profound lack of intelligence and/or insight would seriously make that comparison.

And what is truly ironic is that the Canadian Charger's pretend defense of free speech is coming from someone who is so closely tied to attempts to repress free speech through the Canadian Human Rights Commission's notorious thought crimes provisions.
 
Of course, if it isn't yet apparent, irony is completely lost on the people at The Canadian Charger.

Sharia/Marxist rag claims, "Tarek Fatah spreads fear and hatred on CBC"

The nutbars at The Canadian Charger, Mohammed "Elmo" Elmassry's home for 9-11 conspiracy crackpots and fanatical Islamists, have put out a little smear piece about Tarek Fatah.

I think they did it just to confirm what I wrote last week in The Propagandist:

The new contest at the self-described "progressive" online media outlet "The Canadian Charger" founded by Mohamed "Elmo" Elmasry and containing on its editorial board , the renowned 911 conspiracy theorist and apologist for anti-Semitism masquerading as anti-Zionism, Michael Keefer.

These idiots are the personification of Jason Kenney's observation, " so much of the criticism Israel faces is motivated by a dangerous form of anti-Semitism that tries to hide behind anti-Zionism and is represented by a coalition of the far left in the West with extreme currents of jihadi Islam"

Anti-Semitism among the regressive imbeciles at rabble.ca

rabble ca is not noteworthy for its ideas. That online clearing house for the ranting of humourless, paranoid Marxist stooges hasn't proposed a single idea worth serious consideration.

But rabble is noteworthy for providing insight into the mind-set of prominent individuals on Canada's far left. Naomi Klein, Rick Salutin, Maude Barlow, and Linda McQuaig are all regular contributors to the histrionic mouthpiece founded by Judy Rebick and currently published by Kim Elliott, the spouse of  NDP Deputy Leader Libby Davies.

One of the regular themes of rabble is a pathological institutionalized obsession with, and hatred of  Israel that verges on anti-Semitism. Now they are venturing further into that territory. Today rabble is promoting Michael Keefer's book Anti-Semitism, Real and imagined.

The show notes from their audio presentation describe it as:

In his book Antisemitism: Real and imagined, Michael Keefer details Canada’s history of real anti-semitism, and challenges attempts to equate political criticism of Israel with a “new” anti-semitism.  At stake is the right of Canadians to exercise free speech on the issue of Palestine and Israel.

It's natural that the fanatics at rabble want to sell the lie that single-minded focus on Israel that eliminates the context of the Israeli/Palestinian dispute and places all the blame on the Israeli side has nothing to do with its being a country of Jews.

They say it's racist for a country to have a Jewish character, but have absolutely no complaint about the Islamic character of countries like Iran, Saudi Arabia or Pakistan, but that has nothing to do with them hating and singling out Jews.

They are concerned about colonization where it doesn't exist because the Jews are behind it, but have little to say where it does, as in the Chinese colonization of Tibet.

They talk about a "genocide" of the Palestinians, which is factually ludicrous, since the population of Palestinians in the Occupied Territories has tripled since Israel took over, while they ignore the actual genocide in Darfur. But this couldn't be motivated by their Jew-hatred.

And if anyone complains about the hypocrisy of the far-left, that's just more proof of the international Zionist conspiracy.

These bigots want to persuade anyone stupid enough to take their word that the Marxofascist left's single-minded focus on Israel not only isn't anti-Semitic, but that criticism of their bigotry is somehow an inhibition of free speech. This is part of a current regular theme of the nutcase left. They are pushing the absurd, McCarthyist claim that they are allowed to say anything the want without any basis in fact, but if you so much as criticize them, you are repressing free speech.  In other words, it's more of the totalitarian left's  "free speech for me, but not for thee."

And let's look at the credibility of Michael Keefer, whose book is also being heavily promoted by Mohammed "Elmo" Elmasry's The Canadian Charger.

Keefer is a 9-11 conspiracy theorist who has claimed that George W. Bush not only won the 2000 election by fraud, but that such was the case in 2004 election as well.  He is on the Editorial Board of Elmasry's The Canadian Charger, so it is not unreasonable to assume that he is in agreement with their recent printing of a column on "Jewish sensitivity" by nutcase journalist Alan Hart, who contends that Israel and Jews were behind 9-11.

These people are laughing stocks, but they are also bigots trying to cloak their prejudice in what they call a social justice movement. If mullah-controlled Iran is your idea of a just society, you will enjoy what the brain trust at rabble.ca would have in store for us if anyone descends to the point of taking them seriously.

Mohammed "Elmo" Elmasry presents: 9-11 conspiracy theorist Alan Hart on Jewish feelings of persecution.

British Journalist Alan Hart is a great source of amusement.

The employee of Iranian state-controlled Press-TV regularly likes to remind people that one of his best friends his Jewish. That is supposed to convince us that he is not an anti-Semite as he goes into an insane tirade about how Mossad, the Israeli Secret Service Agency, was responsible for 9-11.

He is about as ridiculous as Jewish anti-Semite Norman Finklestein, who unceasingly reminds his audiences that he is "the child of Holocaust survivors" as if that gives his hateful bigotry towards Israel and support for terror groups like Hezbollah some special credibility.

When these two masters of paranoia got together, I witnessed something I never expected. Norman Finklestein in a conversation where he was the lesser of the vilifiers of Israel.

With credentials like those, it was only a matter of time before Alan Hart would end up being published by The Rotten Horseflesh The Canadian Charger, the fanatical home to Canada's anti-Zionist and pro 9-11 conspiracy movements, founded by Mohammed "Elmo" Elmasry.

Elmasry, when not expressing regret that he is unable to fondle other people's young children without being looked upon with suspicion, likes to facilitate crazed denunciations of Israel and Jews.

Hart's column for Elmasry is titled, "Do most Israelis and many other Jews need to feel persecuted?" In it, Hart attributes the reason that Jews don't recognize his Iranian-sponsored version of "the truth about history" to their sense of "victimhood'. Maybe that's why Hart has found a natural home in The Rotten Horseflesh's stable and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's Press TV.

With the kind of love Hart and Elmo offer, the Jews will undoubtedly come to realize their sense of victimhood is all a figment of their imagination.

Canadian Islamic Congress' Mohamed "Elmo" Elmasry tries his hand at comedy

Anyone who still doubts Jason Kenney's assertion that, "so much of the criticism Israel faces is motivated by a dangerous form of anti-Semitism that tries to hide behind anti-Zionism and is represented by a coalition of the far left in the West with extreme currents of jihadi Islam" need only look to the pages of The Rotting Horseflesh The Canadian Charger to see it proved true. That magazine, founded by the notorious former head of the Canadian Islamic Congress, Mohamed "Elmo" Elmasry, is a mirror reflection of the radical leftist rabble.ca which touts Marxism with an Islamist tilt. The   Canadian Charger's approach is as an Islamist mouthpiece with a bit of Marxist flavour.

One slight difference between rabble and the Horseflesh is that while rabble is, in the best traditions of the Canadian Marxist movement, utterly devoid of humor or wit, the Horseflesh at least makes a stab at levity.

The Horseflesh did a recent profile of an Egyptian-Canadian comedian. I hope for his sake, the comedian is funnier than the profile reflects. Reuel S. Amdur, who authored it, has less jocularity than the cartoon Family Guy's wet blanket, Buzz Killington.

But don't get dismayed, jovial jihadis. It's not like there is only one person trying their hand at amusement on the Horseflesh's pages. None other than Mohamed Elmasry himself has provided his readers with non-stop laughs with his recent essay, entitled "Beauty and love are disappearing from our lives."

I assume Elmo was trying to be funny when he writes, "In Western culture, it is acceptable to hug and kiss between opposite sexes, but not openly between those of the same sex. Unfortunately, hugging and kissing young children (other than one’s own) is looked upon with suspicion."

He must have been imagining a comedy skit called Elmo the Pedo, where he runs around "hugging and kissing young children (other than one's own)," and trouble and hilarity ensue. Is this his idea for a pilot for a show called Saturday Night Live from Mecca? Little Mosque on the Ground Zero? Or maybe Medina, the other Second City?

I mean he had to be kidding, right? Wasn't he was kidding when he said "yes, I would say" everyone in Israel and anyone and everyone in Israel, irrespective of gender, over the age of 18 is a valid target ?

That Elmo is always a barrel of laughs.

Somebody needs to update Elmo about what's acceptable in Western Culture though. It is acceptable for people of the same sex to openly hug and kiss. It's death by hanging in Iran. Elmo must have fumbled his way through our immigration requirements before the most recent version of Canada's citizenship guide came out.

Although Elmo never actually clarifies which gender of child other than one's own he's interested in hugging and kissing, he is right; it generally isn't acceptable for old, bearded men who aren't Santa Claus to hug and kiss other people's children. If he's interested in changing that, there's a group called NAMBLA (North American Man-Boy Love Association) which will help him lobby for that cause.

But I could be misinterpreting. Elmo isn't talking just about love between grown-ups and children. He wants the world to be one big happy non-Jewish love fest. And how do you do that? Why, you condemn things that people enjoy as part of their culture, of course!

You ban Sumo wrestling in Japan (Elmo: "In Japan, individual Sumo wrestlers are fed far beyond the needs of several normal human beings and inevitably die of obesity-related ailments at a young age.")

Elmo demonstrated his advanced sense of irony by writing in a Canadian magazine, that our national pastime is some sort of bloodsport comparable to Mixed Martial Arts, but worse! (Elmo: "In Canada, hockey players seem to do more on-ice fighting than playing and sometimes the final score is death.")

You ban female mud wrestling, because, of course, those two women writhing around in bikinis in mud, falling over each other, must be doing it because of some personal animosity they have for each other or just the desire to inspire repulsion, (Elmo: " in another dubious “sport,” women wrestle one another in a muddy arena with little point to the exercise but the grossness of it all").

And in a comedic tour de force, Elmo offers this hysterical parody of a raving lunatic: "Stores may sell numerous beauty products today, but where could you ever buy the Beauty of the Divine? We have all but lost our human spiritual receptors to appreciate Divine beauty. At home and school our children are rarely exposed to the essential twin values of beauty and love."

You're a riot, Elmo! No more beauty and love in Canadian homes and schools!

Well, maybe not the homes that froth at the mouth with lust for the blood of Israelis. And it's hard to gauge beauty under a burka, but these are minor points. What's important is that Elmo has, in his own very small way, shown that he may possess the capabilities of looking at the lighter side of life. That could be the first step towards ending the bitterness which I assume is what has been motivating him for so long.

That's got to be what's happening, isn't it? I mean, he couldn't possibly have been serious, could he?

3rd rate pseudo-intellectual Marxist? Pimply-faced 9/11 conspiracy nut? Terror-supporting anti-Semite? There's a place for you at The Canadian Charger!

Are you concerned that the mainstream media hasn't gone far enough to advance the cause of Marxism or isn't spending enough time arguing that all Jews in Israel should be killed?

Maybe you've got bad skin, a bad haircut and are convinced that the "mainstream media" and even Michael Moore are conspiring to cover up what "really happened" on 9-11.

Do you consider yourself a "progressive" who is being marginalized by the neo-fascist major media outlets like The Toronto Star and The Globe and Mail?

Do you think acceptable "free speech" for others is something that you should be able to decide?

Here's a video made by one of the correspondents for The Rotting Horseflesh. In it, this weasel who in a column gloated about his intellectual superior, Christopher Hitchens falling victim to cancer, here harasses a CBC correspondent about their "covering up what happened" on 9-11. The woman clearly thinks he's a nutcase and tries to deflect him by saying the CBC should undertake lots of investigations but can't afford to because of funding cuts. Of course, this is further proof that the Canadian government is involved in the 9-11 cover-up! (And check out how he claims Michael Moore is part of it!)
