Canadian Muslim group with reprehensible links issues libel notice to Prime Minister Harper

According to the CTV website, The National Council of Canadian Muslims "is demanding an apology from Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his chief spokesman for a comment it says links the organization to a terrorist group. The National Council of Canadian Muslims has filed a notice of libel in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice that accuses Jason MacDonald of acting maliciously.."

Following complaints from the Muslim group about the inclusion of a rabbi who participated in an event with anti-Jihadist activists Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer with the Prime Minister's delegation to Israel, PMO spokesman Jason MacDonald stated, "We will not take seriously criticism from an organization with documented ties to a terrorist organization such as Hamas."

Until last July, NCCM was known as CAIR-CAN, and was the Canadian branch of the US-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). CAIR was listed in court documents as an un-indicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Terror-financing trial. As the Investigative Project on Terrorism reported, Assistant US Attorney General Ronald Welch concluded that trial transcripts "demonstrated a relationship among CAIR, individual CAIR founders, and the Palestine Committee. Evidence was also introduced that demonstrated a relationship between the Palestine Committee and HAMAS, which was designated as a terrorist organization in 1995."

The Quebec-based blog Point de Bascule has documented members of CAIR-CAN's leaderhip endorsing extremist Muslim groups including the Muslim Brotherhood, which is the parent organization from which the terror group Hamas sprang. That blog also noted:

In 2002, while she was CAIR-CAN Chair, Sheema Khan endorsed Youssef Qaradawi by introducing him as a “renowned Muslim scholar” to her Globe and Mail readers. Youssef Qaradawi is the most important leader of the Muslim Brotherhood international network, its spiritual leader. He is also considered Hamas’ spiritual guide. In the past, his fatwas have been quoted by Hamas to justify its suicide operations against civilians at the heart of Israel.

The 'renowned Muslim scholar' to whom the then CAIR-CAN Chair referred is a anti-Semitic fanatic who has said that Allah used Hitler as a "divine punishment" for the Jews and has claimed Jews exaggerated the Holocaust.

Lawfare is a tactic that Muslims groups in Canada are attempting to use to silence criticism and exposure of their activities. But they are having limited success. Only last month, a Federal Court upheld a decision by Canada's Citizenship Minister Jason Kenney to cease federal funding for the Canadian Arab Federation. The judge agreed with Kenney's view that the Arab organization appeared to be anti-Semitic and to support terror groups, and ordered them to pay the Minister's court costs.

By taking on the Prime Minister's office, the National Council of Canadian Muslims may find that the rather than being vindicated, they end up highlighting their own reprehensible associations.

Stephen Harper`s speech to Israel`s Knesset has Canadian anti-Semites fuming

Distortion and misinformation has been the aftermath of the speech Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper made to Israel`s national legislature on Monday.

The Prime Minister clearly said in his speech that not all criticism of Israel is anti-Semitism. But that hasn`t stopped politically-motivated pundits including Liberal Party backroom boy Warren Kinsella, or sloppy journalism from the likes of Sun News` David Akin, from portraying the exact opposite of what the Prime Minister said, such as Akin`s dishonest assertion that  "in Harper's formulation, you're an anti-Semite if you criticize Israel."

In both the case of Kinsella and Akin the charge against Harper is probably an attention-getting device, since both writers, Akin elsewhere in his same column, and Kinsella in an earlier blog post, acknowledge that Harper said no such thing.

What Harper did describe as anti-Semitism is:

“As once Jewish businesses were boycotted, some civil-society leaders today call for a boycott of Israel. On some campuses, intellectualized arguments against Israeli policies thinly mask the underlying realities, such as the shunning of Israeli academics and the harassment of Jewish students.

Most disgracefully of all, some openly call Israel an apartheid state.

Think about that.

Think about the twisted logic and outright malice behind that: a state, based on freedom, democracy and the rule of law, that was founded so Jews can flourish, as Jews, and seek shelter from the shadow of the worst racist experiment in history, that is condemned, and that condemnation is masked in the language of anti-racism.

It is nothing short of sickening.

But this is the face of the new anti-Semitism.

It targets the Jewish people by targeting Israel and attempts to make  the old bigotry acceptable for a new generation.

Of course, criticism of Israeli government policy is not in and of itself necessarily anti-semitic.

But what else can we call criticism that selectively condemns only the Jewish state and effectively denies its right to defend itself while systematically ignoring – or excusing – the violence and oppression all around it?"

As Federal Cabinet Minister Jason Kenney noted in rebutting Akin, the definition of anti-Semitism used by Harper is nothing new and reflects the definitions in use by the European Union.

However, what is novel is that a Canadian Prime Minister has never been so explicit in stating that outlook before.

This has significant ramifications back in Canada for a number of anti-Israel fanatics who have tried to excuse their anti-Semitism as anti-Zionism.

The fact that a person may be a Jew does not mean that they can't be a Jew-hater. One example is the group of radical cretins calling themselves Independent Jewish Voices that was founded, by the admission of its own leaders, for the primary purpose of putting useful idiot Jews (some of whom who only pretend to be Jewish)  in front of the anti-Israel movement so they could deflect charges of anti-Semitism.

It is now clear that, in the view of the Canadian government, people such as labour leaders Sid Ryan are anti-Semites and that the unions CUPE Ontario and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers are anti-Semitic organizations. A federal court recently agreed with Mr. Kenney in his assertion that Muslim groups like The Canadian Arab Federation are (or at least appear) anti-Semitic, and that description would easily apply to a number of other Canadian Islamic organizations, including the Canadian Association of Shiite Muslims (CASMO) and Zafar Bangash's Islamic Society of York Region.

The label of anti-Semite would therefore extend to Jew-hating Jews like Naomi Klein, her obtuse husband Avi Lewis, and Judy Rebick. The website rabble.ca, which billed itself as "the official media sponsor" of Israeli Apartheid Week would be, by definition, a hate-site. The site is currently published by the spouse of NDP Deputy Leader Libby Davies, who herself has often been accused of being anti-Semitic.  

What will be more controversial is that now, in the very explicit view of Canada's government, Israeli Apartheid Weeks on campuses are in the view of Canada's government, anti-Semitic and by extension, university's permitting them are sanctioning Jew-hate. There are also a number of university supported student groups, including the Ontario Public Interest Research Group,  that are so defined as anti-Semitic. Universities will have to take a very close look to decide if they can continue to sanction these hate groups on their campuses.

As far as university funding goes, it's interesting to note that The University of Toronto's scandal-plagued, Marxist-leaning Ontario Institute of Studies in Education has appointed someone who fits the government's description of an anti-Semite by the name of Abigail Bakan, as the head of its Humanities, Social Sciences and Social Justice Education department.

In the case of the City of Toronto, the collection of vapid freaks calling themselves Queers Against Israeli Apartheid now cannot make any sort of claim, at least from the official perspective of Canada's government, that they are not an anti-Semitic group. By Toronto's funding the World Pride Festival in 2014 that includes this group, the city is de facto funding Jew hate, and a re-examination of that funding may be necessary.

The ramifications of Mr. Harper's very impressive and unambiguous speech are far-reaching indeed, and they have some of Canada's most discreditable people very worried.

And anything that has such people upset, whatever else its merits may or may not be, can't be all bad.

As Stephen Harper prepares to leave for Israel, NDP-linked website rabble.ca publishes a shockingly anti-Semitic article

Jews only care about Israel. They care about Israel more than Canada. Stephen Harper and Canada's Conservative Party know this and it forms the basis of their public support for Israel.

Anti-Semitic charges like that form the basis of many discussions among depraved neo-Nazis in their septic online bunkers. The above are not the precise words, but form the clear, obvious message of an article published by the far-left website rabble.ca on the day that Canada's Prime Minster will leave for an official trip to Israel.

Karl Nerenberg, the Ottawa correspondent for rabble, attributes Conservative wins in the last election in a few urban ridings with a substantial number of Jewish voters exclusively to Stephen Harper's support for Israel. He says, in essence, that that the Jews were responsible for the victories of under-qualified politicians in key ridings solely because of Harper's support for the Jewish State.

According to rabble's Nerenberg, the Conservatives "are banking on their [the Jews'] ardent support of Israel to gain needed voters, and so far it's working. In 2011, in Toronto’s York Centre, a rather indifferent Conservative candidate, with the thinnest of thin résumés, Mark Adler, managed to defeat hockey Hall-of-Famer and Liberal champion of a national daycare program, Ken Dryden. The riding’s Jewish voters moved quite significantly toward the Conservatives in that case."

A simple review of Canada's most recent census reveals that Nerenberg's reasoning is as facile as it is bigoted.  There are more than a million Muslims in Canada compared with less than three hundred thirty thousand Jews. Were Nerenberg correct in his assertion that Harper's Mid East policies are a cynical ploy to entice Jews, then it would follow to reason that strongly favoring Israel would repel Muslims. All major political parties attempt to appeal to ethnic voting blocs. But as a strategy whose sole goal was to win elections, it would be preposterous to try to win over one group at the expense of alienating another that is more than three times as large.

Founded by anti-Israel fanatic Judy Rebick, rabble's publisher is the same-sex partner of Libby Davies, the Deputy Leader of Canada's Official Opposition whom, in in 2010, was condemned by current NDP leader Tom Mulcair for her comments that effectively denied Israel's legitimacy and right to exist. Funding for that online hub of extremism, which has billed itself as the "official media sponsor" of the annual hate-fest "Israeli Apartheid Week" comes in part from the NDP think-tank The Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives.

The article today by Nerenberg reflects the hateful biases which form rabble.ca's core values. He claims that in 2011, he overheard Cabinet Minister Jason Kenney, "loudly telling someone at the other end of his cell phone call about the Conservatives’ excellent chances in a number of urban ridings -- all because of the Jewish vote."

Naturally, the collapse of the Liberal Party because of a terrible campaign headed by the poor political skills of Michael Ignatieff plays no role in Nerenberg's explanation for gains by the Conservatives in the ridings he describes. Nerenberg's implications are that they are only because of a sinister confluence of Jewish self-interest and loyalty to a foreign country with cynical Conservative politicking.

Stephen Harper has been clear about the reasons for his support of Israel, a liberal democracy, in its strife dealing with neighbors who are antithetical to western values and who have expressed genocidal aspirations towards Jews. But no, that's all a big put-on by Harper if Nerenberg's "analysis" is to be accepted. Nerenberg's claim of what he allegedly overheard is, in his mind, evidence of his own conspiracy theory.

Oddly for the Jewish community, there are some useful idiots within it who would make common cause with people like rabble's Karl Nerenberg. Former Jewish Canadian Congress boss Bernie Farber recently appeared along with Nerenberg at a panel at the "progressive" Toronto synagogue Temple Emanu-El. When confronted by concerns from Jewish Defense League head Meir Weinstein on his giving imprimatur to the hateful views promoted by Nerenberg and his employer, Farber dismissed them, referring to his co-panelist as a "respected journalist."

The quarters in which a person respects the types of biases expressed by Karl Nerenberg are ones that many decent people would avoid like the plague.

If Nerenberg is really interested in quotes from Jason Kenney, hopefully he will heed one from an interview the Conservative Minister gave this week to Postmedia's Mark Kennedy. 

"“We see the kind of culture of hatred in various parts of the world, regrettably in some dark corners of Canada, as some of this kind of new anti-Semitism...It often finds itself at the nexus between radical Jihadi Islamism and the far left" said Kenney. 

The 'nexus' of which Kenney spoke is in strong evidence at rabble.ca, where they act as apologists for Islamic terror against Israel.

But this nexus is nothing new. It happened in the Second World War when the Islamic prelate in the Palestinian Mandate, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, allied himself with Adolf Hitler and helped him raise troops with the shared intent of annihilating Jews.

Reading the extremist leftism in rabble.ca today, and how similar some of the commentary is to right-wing extremism, it serves as a reminder that NAZI is an acronym for National Socialist.

NCCM denies it has links to terror organizations or is anti-Semitic.As CAIR-CAN, one of its former Chairs had endorsed Youssef Qaradawi who claimed that "Allah sent Hitler to punish the Jews."

MCCM also has a number of links to the terror group Hamas' parent organization The Muslim Brotherhood, which was recently declared a terrorist organization by the Egyptian government.

In related news, federal Cabinet Minister Jason Kenney elucidated on the Canadian government's support for Israel and commitment to combat anti-Semitism by saying:

"We see the kind of culture of hatred in various parts of the world, regrettably in some dark corners of Canada, as some of this kind of new anti-Semitism.” 

 Kenney said the hatred “repeats many of the old canards and conspiracy theories of the old European style anti-Semitism,” and is also displaying a new, more virulent form of violence. 

 “It often finds itself at the nexus between radical Jihadi Islamism and the far left. This is a reality on our university campuses. It’s a reality in many different parts ofthe world, and it’s a reality we can’t ignore.”

Apparent terrorism supporters and "arguable" anti-Semites of Canadian Arab Federation on the hook for Jason Kenney's costs in law suit

As reported on Eye on a Crazy Planet on December 24, and just now being noticed by the mainstream media, a Federal Court dismissed a request from the Canadian Arab Federation to review Former Immigration and Citizenship Citizenship Minister Jason Kenney's decision to de-fund the organization. The Court found it reasonable to conclude, as Kenney did, that the CAF appeared to support terrorism and was arguably anti-Semitic.

Among the factors upon which the Court made its decision were:

• CAF's President Khaled Muammar distributed emails attacking Liberal MP Bob Rae because of his wife's involvement with the Jewish community;
• The CAF honored the fanatical hatemonger Zafar Bangash, a shill for Iran's dictatorship who, when writing about the 9-11 terror attacks, was distinctly unsympathetic to the victims, and;
• CAF Vice President, Ali Mallah, attended what in essence was a terrorists' convention in Cairo.

But there's more good news still in the decision from Mr. Justice Russel Zinn. The cretins at the Canadian Arab Federation are on the hook for the Minister of Immigration's costs, which could run into the hundreds of thousands.

The CAF has indicated it is planning an appeal, but has not made any other comment so far.

Federal Court upholds Jason Kenney`s decision to defund anti-Semitic, terror-supporting Canadian Arab Federation

In 2009 as Minister of Citizenship, Jason Kenney halted federal funding to the anti-Semitic, terror-supporting extremists of the Canadian Arab Federation. Last May, the CAF took Kenney to court to try to have the funding restored.

Evidently, the CAF case was as incompetent as one would expect from such hateful buffoons. I am informed a large part of their argument rested on using quotes from articles by radical loony-leftist Judy Rebick.

Today, according to tweets from Jason Kenney, the Court has upheld Kenny`s decision.

At a press conference I attended a couple of years ago when I asked about the funding for another radical NGO called Alternatives International, based in Montreal, Kenney discussed the difficulty of getting funding removed from such groups.

Tim Uppal, another Federal Cabinet Minister, then told me following the conference how important it is for the public to speak out and pressure the government to remove funding from such organizations. Because with the tactics these groups use to keep their snouts in the public trough, public support for the government in these cases is critical.

Fraser Institute: Immigrants a $20 Billion dollar a year burden on Canada

A new report suggests immigrants are imposing a "fiscal burden" of about $20 billion a year on Canadian taxpayers and recommends a number of radical changes to the country's immigration selection process, including bringing an end to the sponsorship of parents and grandparents.

The report, released today by the Fraser Institute, also proposes that the current immigrant selection process, which relies heavily on political considerations, be replaced with one that relies primarily on the private sector and labour market conditions.

Liberal Party apparatchik and former Palestine House President Eliaz Hazineh is in a bit of hot water following his public call for the murder of Israeli Jews last week.

So, in the tradition of the contemporary Liberal Party,  he's is predictably trying to squirm his way out trouble by lying.

According to the Toronto Star, Hazineh claims his words were taken out of context.

I was at his speech and the context was clear and explicit; he wants all Jews out of Israel, including the pre-1967 borders, or he wants them to be killed. There is no other logical way of interpreting "we have been negotiating with them for 65 years. We say, ‘Get out or you are dead.’ We give them two minutes and then we start shooting, and that’s the only way they’ll understand.”

Sixtty-five years ago was 1948, the year the modern State of Israel came into existence. The initial round of negotiations to which Hazineh referred was the attack of the armies of Arab nations that tried to "drive the Jews into the sea." Though unsuccessful in that and subsequent attempts, that dream has not gone away for Hazineh and the other al Quds fanatics who dream of the death of every Jew in Israel.

"From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free" is the chant they routinely wail at such protests.

A slogan repeated by the genocidal maniac Hassan Nassrallah last week, the flags of whose terror organization, Hezbollah, were held high by Toronto al Quds demonstrators while Elias Hazineh delivered a similar message.

Israel is the freest country in the Middle East, the only one with equal rights for women and gays and where no one is persecuted for their religious beliefs.

So when they say "free" what they mean is "free of Jews."

Hazineh was a close consort and employee of the former long-time Liberal MP Carolyn Parrish. He was the president of a Palestine advocacy organization called Palestine House that lost its federal funding because of its support for extremism. That organization proclaimed how unfair then Citizenship Minister Jason Kenney was in depriving them of funds. Hazineh, whose rhetoric is typical of that inside the doors of Palestine House, showed them for what they are; murderous-minded fanatics.

The man who tried to incite the murder of Israel Jews is also close with one of Justin Trudeau's advisers. The same Justin Trudeau who thinks that Canada should engage more with the genocidal mullahs in Iran. The same Justin Trudeau whose senior policy adviser, his brother, partnered with that murderous regime to make a propaganda film.

While Hazineh is an obviously despicable individual, what is of more concern is how people like him will be influencing public policy if Justin Trudeau should ever reach a position of power.

Mocked, derided and self-discrediting, it's no surprise that the so-called Israeli Apartheid Week (IAW) hate-fest is drawing almost no attention, even on campuses throughout Canada this year.

Even most of the usual cast of Munchhausen Jews, those who are only Jews for the purpose of demonizing Israel and getting attention for themselves among the far-left - in those cases where they are not fake Jews - seem to have lost heart at the prospect of being ridiculed again.

Of course the hard core are still there, but the depths the hate-fest organizers have had to plummet to in order to find "headliners" show how low they have sunk.

In Toronto, the flagship city of the assembly of IAW imbeciles, its premier event, (naturally taking place at OISE)  has trotted out tired tedious hatemongers like the 3rd-rate hack filmmaker and York University instructor John Greyson.  I was an executive at a major Hollywood production company, and if I'd ever suggested Greyson as a director for a project, I would have been laughed out of the room (or would have been in the unlikely case that anyone there had actually heard of him.)

Joining him is some nobody named Trish Salah and the notorious embarrassment Jenny Peto, whose facile, anti-Semitic Master's thesis single-handedly called the University of Toronto's academic standards into disrepute. 

The slow-minded trio will be appearing in a program, named by people too stupid to recognize its unintentional irony, called Coming Out Against Apartheid: Queer Solidarity Activism. There they will be heaping scorn on the only Gay-positive country in the middle east, while metaphorically getting on their knees and sucking and swallowing the murderous homophobia of the Islamic enemies Israel is fighting.

Clarifying the real purpose of the hate-fest, Canada's Citizenship and Immigration Minister, Jason Kenney, has just issued the following statement:

“Everyone in this country has the right to freely and publicly express their views. That being said, I share the concerns of other Canadians about the reckless and overheated rhetoric associated with anti-Israel activities on many Canadian university campuses, and the toxic manner in which these activities are often carried out.

“There is no better example than the so-called ‘Israel Apartheid Week’ (IAW). Its organizers and participants have a regrettable history of promoting and holding events in ways that disregard the security and rights of Jewish faculty and students, censor other points of view, and limit academic discourse.

“The disproportionate vitriol directed against the democratic State of Israel during ‘Israel Apartheid Week’ stands in stark and ironic contrast to the silence of IAW organizers on the ongoing atrocities committed by the Syrian regime against its own citizens, and on the rampant brutalities and denial of rights in non-democratic countries in the Middle East, and elsewhere in the world.

“In free societies such as Canada’s and Israel’s, it is absolutely legitimate to debate and criticize government policies and practices. Indeed, Israel supports the right of free expression more than any other country in its part of the world. But with the freedom to criticize comes the responsibility to guard against hateful and intolerant rhetoric.

“Operating under the guise of academic freedom, Israel Apartheid Week is a misleading attempt to delegitimize and demonize the only true liberal democracy in the Middle East. IAW’s organizers choose to promote inflammatory propaganda over civil and enlightening debate. Their approach is at odds with the Canadian values of tolerance and mutual respect, and prevents meaningful dialogue from taking place.

Creepy Marxists, cretinous cultists, Jew-haters and other assorted fanatics harangue Immigration Minister Kenney

What would normally be a quiet Sunday evening in a central downtown section of Toronto a five minute walk from Lake Ontario was unsettled by a mob of dingy, hostile would-be revolutionaries. A smattering of about two hundred and fifty professional protesters comprising local anti-capitalist, Trotskyite, anti-Israel  and New Democratic Party-linked Marxist groups converged on Toronto's downtown Royal York Hotel to protest against Immigration Minister Jason Kenney.

The occasion was an irresistible opportunity of expressing hostility towards two of their most hated objects, the Conservative government and the Jewish state, as Kenney was being honored by Israel's Haifa University.

According to a leaflet they distributed, the loud, unhappy throng was there "in outrage." There was nothing illuminating in that disclosure, since outrage, anger and resentment are the only emotions such miserable, envious malcontents ever seem to channel.

The mainstream media, either through laziness, their own disdain for Harper's Tories, or sheer ignorance of the issues they are covering (which is common for Canadian journalists) whitewashed the event as a group of citizen protesters.

In fact, many if not most of the protesters were non-citizens, like Marxists Syed Hassan and Sakura Saunders, attached to the lunatic extremist organization No One is Illegal, which wants to do away with all immigration regulations, while providing full tax-funded benefits for anyone who steps foot on Canadian soil. They and the other groups and individuals at the protest were anything but a cross-section of typical Canadians. They represented extremists including members of the Black Bloc, anarchists, radical Trotskyites, pro-regime Iranians, Mohawk Warriors, pro-terrorist Palestinian advocacy groups, Omar Khadr supporters, the violent anti-capitalist group Ontario Coalition Against Poverty (OCAP) and an array of others.

Blogger Laura Rosen Cohen has catalogued the vast cornucopia of organizations involved in the disturbance, which would be impressive were it not for the fact that the radical fanatics involved  keep creating three or four new groups for every new cause they approach, with almost all of them having cross memberships. Indeed there were almost as many protest groups "endorsing" the gathering as there were actual protesters.

Some of the chants at the protest the consensus media did not report included  "one, two, three, four, this is class war!" " the only solution is revolution,"  and "F**k the police!" The latter was all the more ironic and preposterous as the police were ensuring the safety of the bedraggled grousers from traffic while protecting their right to democratic dissent as the protesters were insulting the  "agents of state oppression."

The cacophony from the usual suspect groups with their hodgepodge of idiotic grievances had its expected effect; no clear message was conveyed other than their hatred for Stephen Harper and Jason Kenney.

The one unfamiliar addition to the assembly was a group of Romas, who were shunted to the rear of the protest by the organizers.  They were there to express anger at Kenney's refusal to view Hungary as an oppressive country from which Roma need refuge. I spoke with one who was carrying a bizarre sign that said "Our ashes are mingled" and showed Nazi concentration camp ovens used to cremate murdered inmates. The point, the fellow told me, was that Jews and Gypsies suffered together from racism in Europe and they should be standing together in solidarity here in Canada.

I inquired about the Roma groups attendance at the rally, since I had heard they had dissociated themselves from it, as it was filed with anti-Semitic groups. His response suggested the Roma group had been duped by the organizers of the protest. He had said they were planing to stay away because they were pro-Israel and did not want to be interpreted as anything else, until the Roma were convinced by the organizers that Jewish groups were attending. It was inconceivable to the Roma man I spoke with that Jews could be anti-Israel. While I understand his perspective, it could also be inconceivable that some Jews would have collaborated with the Nazis.   Yet some did, just as groups like the so-called Independent Jewish Voices and the Monty Pythonesque-sounding United Jewish People`s Order collaborate now with groups that support the murderers of Jews.

I met up with Greg Renouf, who operates the blog GenuineWitty at the demonstration. He has expended innumerable hours investigating and exposing the radicals involved in the socialist far-left in Canada. He has found links between the radical fanatics in the Black Bloc and No One is Illegal that ties not only to unions like Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), but to the highest echelons of the federal New Democratic Party.

Renouf feels that their behaviour resembles that of cult members, who lacking in intelligence and analytical skills are left only with the ability to mindlessly chant slogans.

He observed that the fools we were watching were incapable of accomplishing anything of substance. He is right, but it appeared to me such events aren't actually meant to accomplish anything other than to give the leaders of such gatherings an excuse to exercise their leadership and maintain the personality cults they have established for themselves.

More worrisome was the involvement of pro-regime Iranians, who evidently are attempting to make inroads with the native community and prepare terrorist action in the event of a war with Iran.

While the misfits and cretins that comprised the protesters outside the Royal York are unlikely to ever affect change through discourse, events in the recent past have proven that it only takes a handful of such miscreants to make a devastating impact through terrorism and for that, Canadian need to remain vigilant.
