Canada's unelected Senate holding up Bill that protects free speech

Last June many of us who had been fighting to end Canada’s ridiculous internet censorship law breathed a big sigh of relief. Conservative MP Brian Storseth’s bill to remove section 13 of the Canadian Human Rights Act had passed third reading and was on its way to becoming law.

Yet here we are eight months after the bill was voted through the House of Commons and it is still not passed into law. Why?

Because the bill is stuck in the Senate, that upper chamber of sober second thought.
The bill was introduced in the Senate, and is supported, by Conservative Doug Finley. But since June when Finley introduced the bill two Conservatives have spoken out against C-304 and in favour of section 13 – Pierre Claude Nolin and Nancy Ruth.

This bill, which is a private members bill and therefore does not have the full endorsement of the government, is not assured of passing the Senate.

The NDP's role in Canada's Coalition of Hate

Histrionic fury was the union response to Bill C-377, the Private Member's Bill calling for transparency in Union spending in Canada. Unions are exempt from taxes and despite the spurious claims of union bosses, very few of the rank-and-file membership are ever told how much and on what their dues money is spent.

More often than not, it's not through the unions but the media that Public Service union members learn of the bizarrely radical causes upon which union bosses bestow money culled from workers' compulsory dues payments.

As a former public service union member, I was never told how my dues money was spent and had I known then what I know now, I would have been outraged.

Delegations to Cuba and Venezuela to support the kind of socialism enforced by dictators like Castro and Chavez and envisioned by the union bosses, money to aid radical groups enabling Palestinian terrorists, and funding for fanatical domestic groups that engage in political violence and intimidation are all funded by Canadian Public Service unions.

It's hardly a surprise that unions and their subservient  political party, the NDP, fought tooth-and-nail against legislation that would let the average union member see how their money was being misappropriated.

The relationship between the unions, the NDP and violent radicals is easy to trace.

The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), the largest public sector union, is one of the principle funders of the violent anti-Capitalist group, the Ontario Coalition Against Poverty (OCAP).

On the CUPE website, a joint press release between the union and that violent organization that actively promotes "class warfare"  makes increased cooperation between the groups clear. The statement quotes OCAP's hysterical, foul-mouthed spokesperson Liisa Schofield who, as it happens, is intimately involved with the notorious author of an anti-Jewish thesis. Schofield is the same-sex partner of Jenny Peto, whose Masters Thesis for the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education was condemned in the Ontario Legislature for its anti-Semitism.

The fanatical anti-Israel activist Peto is also one of the founders of a group devoted to opposing efforts by Toronto mayor Rob Ford to rein in the city's out-of-control spending.

The relationship between these radical groups, all of which have ties to the New Democratic Party, is being extolled by that political party's think-tank, The Broadbent Institute.

David McNally, a York University professor who is a denizen of fanatical anti-Capitalist, anti-western causes, is also affiliated with the NDP's think tank.

He wrote for the Broadbent Institute that the cooperation between CUPE and OCAP  "has been a genuine example of a community-labour alliance that transcends conventional collective bargaining. By creating an authentic and activist solidarity between poor people and trade unionists it offers a refreshing alternative to business style unionism."

What that would seem to indicate is that The New Democratic Party wants to play a stronger role in an emerging type of hateful activism. That activism seeks to set classes against each other, to destroy a Jewish homeland in the middle east, to encourage the decline of western liberal democracies, and to eliminate the average person's rights to economic self-determination in favor of authoritarian state-control.

If these hateful fanatics get their wish, it may be good for predatory public union bosses, for radical activists salivating for violent revolution, and for the New Democratic Party, but it would most certainly be bad for everyone else.

UPDATE:  In related news, Toronto's CUPE workers are sitting around watching porn on the public dime and committing other forms of fraud that are draining public resources

Obama's nominee for Secretary of Defense ducks questions about taking money from terroist support group.

On Thursday, Senate sources told Breitbart News exclusively that they have been informed that one of the reasons that President Barack Obama’s nominee for Secretary of Defense, Chuck Hagel, has not turned over requested documents on his sources of foreign funding is that one of the names listed is a group purportedly called “Friends of Hamas.”

Yesterday, 25 senators sent a letter to Hagel demanding information on his foreign funding. Hagel has refused all such requests, prompting the senators to state, “in the judgment of the undersigned, a Committee vote on your nomination should not occur unless and until you provide the requested information.”

Toronto District School Board still dissembles about its classroom promotion of Marxism

It may seem that only a crazy person would suggest that the largest public school board in Canada, a country that is one of the bastions of western democracy and successful capitalism, is actively, doggedly  promoting Marxist ideology to grade-schoolers.

After all, what government would allow its education system to undermine the fundamental principles of  society? And even if that were happening, who would expect taxpayers to sit still for it?

Yet that\s exactly what is going on in the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) , under the noses of the public, guided by appointees of the Toronto School Board of Trustees and with the full authorization of the Ontario Liberal Party government's Ministry of Education.

It sounds too preposterous to be true, but only last week a National Post article exposed the TDSB lesson plan which provided a Marxist hagiography of the violent, racist Black Panther organization which was initially uncovered by the blog Eye on a Crazy Planet along with another laudatory lesson about the Communist Party of El Salvador.

As soon as the TDSB was publicly embarrassed by attention garnered by the blog post, it removed the lessons, as it had in the past after lessons praising the murderous, totalitarian Cuban revolutionary leader Che Guevara was exposed by Toronto blogger Blazing Cat Fur.

If he were a communist instead of a National Socialist, undoubtedly there'd be a TDSB lesson praising Hitler, who was responsible for the creation of the Volkswagen and the building of the autobahn, as a transportation.visionary while mentioning nothing about the Nazi invasion of Europe and the Holocaust.

The Toronto District School Board is making out as if their adulation of communist icons and ideologies are just a few anomalies that have slipped by their notice.

They are lying.

These lessons are part of a systematic effort to infuse a Marxist-based ideological approach to education. It is an ideology actively promoted at the radical Ontario Institute for Studies in Education from which both the disgraced former TDSB Education Director Chris Spence and the current acting Director Donna Quan are alumni.

The TDSB continues to infuse neo-Marxist ideology in education under the guise of its so-called Social Justice agenda. This includes conditioning children in math classes to believe that consumerism is wrong and that military spending is the primary cause of poverty.

It continues in lesson plans across the TDSB where communist ideas are still portrayed as those to which we should aspire.

Two months ago, I wrote to the Chair of Toronto's Board of School Trustees objecting to the politicized use of the so-called social justice agenda in the TDSB's curriculum. I didn't write the letter as a concerned citizen, or as a trouble-stirring blogger, but as the co-Chair of the Parents' Council at the second largest High School within the Toronto District High School. The response was an email from Board Chair Chris Bolton, followed by one from Donna Quan with couple of platitudes and a commitment to get back to me.

Two full months later, I have heard noting further from either of them. If the petit sovereigns who rule the TDSB are prepared to ignore someone who is both the Chair of the Parents Council at a school with over 1900 students and who has ready media access, imaging how dismissive they are towards the average parent.

Actually, no imagination is required for that. The contempt the TDSB heads have for the public is made explicitly clear by them every day.

UPDATE: Revelations about the TDSB get worse every day - they use the anti-Semitic, hateful lunatic conspiracy theorist Louis Farrakhan as a role model in their "Equitable Schools Resource Guide."

Here's a math question for you: How many morons does it take to screw up your child's education?

Answer = The number of employees at the TDSB's head office.

Here's the mental case talking about his visit to a UFO

Idle no More..but still incredibly stupid

Idle No More, the supposed Native Rights protest movement that was catapulted into prominence by Chief Therese Spence's moose soup diet, is now the catchall for every protest where the usual far left radical morons decide to turn up and protest something.

Gary McHale's Jubilee Medal and the idiots who tried to slander him

[McHale] was nominated by the Canadian Taxpayers Federation for his work of exposing the provincial government’s tax waste in the Caledonia area. At the ceremony he received his medal from Gregory Thomas, Federal and Ottawa Director of the CTP.

I am sure that for the 60,000 ordinary and extraordinary Canadians, who received the medal, that was just another pleasant life episode with smiling officials, clapping family members and boring parties.
Not so with Gary – nothing about him is ordinary. The nomination touched off a storm of wailing and gnashing of teeth, which could be heard “from the Island to Vancouver to the Isle of Newfoundland” (as once Stompin’ Tom put it). There is nothing new about the reaction – Gary’s life resembles a detective novel continuously published in a magazine, where you anxiously wait for every new issue to see what would happen in the next chapter.

The liars and bullies behind last week's Ontario Liberal convention protest

Last Saturday was the “Rally For Rights And Democracy” in Toronto. It was organized by the Ontario Federation of Labour- Sid Ryan was the major star of the day. The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) had a major presence, as did the Steelworkers, the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU), teacher’s unions, and the notorious Ontario Coalition Against Poverty (OCAP).

Most of the people were decent folk, union members who flocked together to defend their (enviable) privilege.

WTF?! Obese Libby Davies becomes a health Nazi

Libby Davies
The New Democratic Party of Canada Deputy Leader
Of all the people who should NOT be lecturing us on healthy living, the NDP's obese Deputy Leader, Libby Davies, tops the list. But as hypocrisy is the one thing the Dippers excel at...

Fortunately, the government isn't nearly as stupid as Davies.

Toronto District School Board is shamed into removing Black Panther and El Salvadoran Communist party lessons

The Toronto District School Board disappeared a couple of controversial lessons from its website yesterday.

Removed from TDSB website
Following exposure by this blog earlier in the week of lessons promoting the racist, violent Black Panther organization and the Communist Party of El Salvador, the TDSB was left red-faced and killed the pages.

A reader of Eye on a Crazy Planet provided tips to the lessons and a post on this blog, which was picked up by some conservative blogs, pressured the TDSB to act.

The National Post (which quoted Eye on a Crazy Planet without mentioning the blog by name) followed up on the story and reported the TDSB's reaction.

Unfortunately, this is only the tip of the iceberg.

While blatant examples of the abuse of the education system to promote a politicized agenda sometimes shame the TDSB into excising particular lessons, that agenda remains in place. It will likely get worse in the foreseeable future with the appointment of an Ontario Institute for Studies in Education graduate as Premier of Ontario, and with the appointment of another OISE grad, Donna Quan, as the TDSB's acting Education Director. OISE is a fanatical, politicized institution where anti-capitalist activism is allowed to substitute for academic standards. And it is the place where the people who form Ontario's educational policies are taught and have their ideas shaped.

The only way this type of betrayal of our children will ever stop is if average parents continue to monitor what is happening in schools. It's tragic that many of our elected leaders and those entrusted to educate our children abuse that trust to further their own ideologies, which have nothing to do with actual education. But as long as that's the case, then there is no other choice than for average citizens to do what they can to push back.

And now, Harry Nilsson singing Jump into the Fire

In the very strange 1974 movie, Son of Dracula

Nutcase anti-Capitalist group OCAP feeling pressure from a blogger

Greg's blog is GenuineWitty, where after having been intimately involved with the Occupy Protest, he started exposing how it had been usurped by the Old Left and Union interests, just like the ones that provide funding to The Ontario Coalition Against Poverty. They didn't like that.

Trying to get someone who is peacefully, quietly observing, kicked out of a public park during a public demonstration shows the moronic, totalitarian attitude of OCAP and similar anti-Capitalist idiots.

The old poisoned vagina trick!...that's the second time I've fallen for it this week

Women using poison to murder their husbands is an old trope – one going back as far as Claudius's poisoning, which implicated his wife Agrippina. "Arsenic Annie" Nannie Doss saw off four husbands, as well as most of her family, in the span of four decades (she confessed to the murders in 1954). And now a Brazilian woman may soon be added to this pantheon of gloom. Although this alleged attempted homicide was unsuccessful, the method will certainly go down in history: she allegedly put poison in her vagina, and invited her husband to perform oral sex on her. The man became suspicious while down south, surprised by an "unusual smell". He took her to hospital, where the poison was found.

Obama's Secretary of Defense Nominee Hagel cracking under Senate pressure

Inhofe, like other senators, zeroed in on Hagel's vote as a senator against labelling the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps a terrorist organisation and imposing sanctions against it.
Hagel said he was one of 22 senators who took the same position.
He was against the move because the US has "never, ever designated a part of a legitimate government, a state" as a terrorist organisation.
Hagel said the vote would have permitted the US to use force against Iran and America was already in two wars at the time. He noted that John Kerry, the new secretary of state, Joe Biden, now the vice-president, also voted against the measure in the Senate.
Hagel was pressed about his opposition to unilateral sanctions against Iran a decade ago, and said that was a different time. He said he regards Iran a state sponsor of terrorism.
Inhofe asked Hagel: "Why do you think the Iranian foreign ministry so strongly supports your nomination for secretary of defense?".
Exasperated, Hagel responded that he had no idea. "I have a difficult time enough with American politics," he said.
Several senators picked up on Hagel's statement in an interview for a book that the "Jewish lobby" intimidates many members of Congress. Hagel later apologised for using "Jewish lobby", saying he should have referred to "pro-Israel lobby".
Senator Roger Wicker pressed Hagel. "Do you stand by your statement they succeed in this town because of intimidation?" he said.
Hagel said he should have described it as influence not intimidation.
Senator Lindsey Graham picked up on the issue when he demanded that Hagel name any senator who has been "intimidated by the Israeli lobby" and identify a "dumb thing" Congress has been pressured to do by groups supportive of Israel. "I can't give you an example," said Hagel.

Governor-General gives the finger to Ontario Liberals' race-based policing

CALEDONIA - Caledonia activist Gary McHale is on a journey to the land of sweet vindication.
Monday, the Canadian Advocates for Charter Equality announced that McHale – its executive director – will receive a Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal next month for outstanding service to the community.
McHale, 50, of Binbrook, will receive the medal at a luncheon in Toronto Feb. 18.
The Canadian Taxpayers Federation nominated McHale late last year. The Governor-General’s office in Ottawa recently approved it.

This is making the imbeciles at the union-controlled NDP mouthpiece rabble.ca awfully mad
