Hamas, which calls for the destruction of Israel and the killing of Jews in its founding charter has now joined the Palestine Liberation Organization as partners in a coalition.
This represents a major setback for any potential peace process between Israel and the Palestinians, while making it more apparent that the Palestinians' ultimate goal is the elimination of the Jewish state.
