UKIP suspends Councillor who blamed gay marriage for bad weather

Responding to outrage, The United Kingdom Independence Party leader Nigel Farage suspended Councillor David Silvester:

Nigel Farage hit back at attacks on Ukip, after he suspended a councillor who blamed the Christmas and New Year floods on David Cameron’s decision to legalise gay marriage.
David Silvester claimed last week that the country had been ‘beset by storms’ because the Prime Minister had acted ‘arrogantly against the Gospel’ by passing same-sex marriage laws.

Ukip’s leadership had originally refused to discipline Mr Silvester, 73, a town councillor in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, saying that everyone was entitled to their religious views.

But he was finally suspended yesterday afternoon after defying a request not to do further interviews on his beliefs.

However, Mr Farage today suggested that the remarks had only become a story after Mr Silvester joined Ukip from the Tory party, where he had previously aired similar views.

Farage has disciplined a nutcase in his party, but still nothing from Labour Party leader  Ed Miliband on the latest online outburst from his idiot MP Grahame Morris, who implied an equivalence between Nazi Germany and Israel yesterday.

From the Islamic Republic of Great Britain: FOI request reveals Geller & Spencer were banned for "pro-Israel" views

Pam Geller in The Daily Caller:
The British government tried to cover its tracks. But a new cache of documents Robert Spencer and I have received in our battle to overturn our being banned from Britain reveal that a chief reason why we were banned from the country was because we strongly support Israel. As part of our lawsuit against the Queen of England and the Home Secretary et al, we have received numerous documents between the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the Office of Security and Counterterrorism, and the Home Secretary. In one of them, an official in the Foreign & Commonwealth Office whose name was redacted wrote this letter on May 7 to a recipient whose name was also redacted:

Idiot British MP David Ward at it again in interview with depraved anti-Israel website

Evidently too stupid to learn from previous mistakes, Liberal Democrat MP David Ward, fresh back from his suspension by his own party for fanatical anti-Israel comments, is doubling down in an interview with a depraved website which accuses Israeli soldiers of being "mercenaries" and child killers.

In the summer, Ward had been suspended for "questioning the continuing existence of Israel" and accusing "the Jews" of inflicting atrocities on the Palestinians and linking it to the Holocaust.

Clearly not taking the chastisement from his own Liberal Democrats seriously, speaking to an interviewer from the website MiddleEastMonitor.com that was published this week, Ward now suggests Israel should never have been created and that a pro-Israel Jewish Lobby dominates British politics.
"I've never actually said that, that it didn't exist" he explains. "If you asked my opinion as to whether or not it should have been created, that's another matter. We are where we are to some degree." "You become very aware, with all of the parties to be honest, that there is a very very strong pro-Israeli lobby which is very very influential in British politics at the moment" he says

This will piss off the anti-Israel clowns...

Buckingham Palace announced Saturday that an Israeli professor is among the more than 1,000 people being presented an award by Queen Elizabeth as part of her Birthday Honours list.
Professor David Newman, Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, will receive the award for his promotion of the academic partnership between Britain and Israel. He has been a leading advocate of the academic partnership between the countries, and a key campaigner against the British academic boycott of Israel.
The awards presented by the Officer of the Order of the British Empire are given for a significant achievement or service in a major local role...

Britian's Prime Minister Cameron is feeling the pressure from UKIP's Farage

LONDON (Reuters) - Prime Minister David Cameron will promise on Wednesday to give Britons a straight referendum choice on whether to stay in the European Union or leave, provided he wins an election in 2015.
Cameron will end months of speculation by announcing in a speech the plan for a vote sometime between 2015 and 2018, shrugging off warnings that this could imperil Britain's diplomatic and economic prospects and alienate its allies.
In extracts of the speech released in advance by his office, Cameron said public disillusionment with the EU is at "an all-time high".

British Labour leader Ed Miliband needs more time to recover from lobotomy

The leader of Britain's Labour party gave the strangest responses I've ever seen in an interview. He keeps repeating the same monotonous, pre-programmed answer to each different question he receives about civic strikes in England.

I thought this was some sort of a joke video that someone had assembled to make him look silly, but it's dead real.

British Imam changes his mind about Islam's compatibility with Darwin after receiving death threats from fundamentalists

A prominent British imam has been forced to retract his claims that Islam is compatible with Darwin's theory of evolution after receiving death threats from fundamentalists.

Dr Usama Hasan, a physics lecturer at Middlesex University and a fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society, was intending yesterday to return to Masjid al-Tawhid, a mosque in Leyton, East London, for the first time since he delivered a lecture there entitled "Islam and the theory of evolution".

But according to his sister, police advised him not to attend after becoming concerned for his safety. Instead his father, Suhaib, head of the mosque's committee of trustees, posted a notice on his behalf expressing regret over his comments. "I seek Allah's forgiveness for my mistakes and apologise for any offence caused," the statement read.

Multiculturalism has failed in Britain, PM Cameron says

Will Canada's officialdom wake up to the failure of multiculturalism before it turns into a mirror of the European catastrophe?

From the Globe and Mail:
State multiculturalism has failed and left young Muslims vulnerable to radicalization, British Prime Minister David Cameron will say on Saturday, arguing for a more active policy to heal divisions and promote Western values.
Mr. Cameron, in a speech to a security conference in Munich, will argue that Britain and other European nations need to “wake up to what is happening in our countries” as well as tackling terrorism through military operations overseas.
“It is time to turn the page on the failed policies of the past,” he will say, according to extracts from his speech released by his office.
“So first, instead of ignoring this extremist ideology, we – as governments and societies – have got to confront it, in all its forms.”
His comments echo those made by German leader Angela Merkel last year and reflect a push by European governments to better integrate immigrants, given persistent domestic tensions between different cultures.

Tony Blair on Making Muslim Integration Work

We have to nail down the definition of the problem. There is no general failure to integrate. In the U.K., for example, we are not talking about Chinese or Indians. We are not talking about blacks and Asians. This is a particular problem. It is about the failure of one part of the Muslim community to resolve and create an identity that is both British and Muslim. And I stress part of it. Most Muslims are as much at ease with their citizenship in the U.K. as I am. I dare say that is true in other European nations too.

However, some don't integrate. But when we talk about this in general terms, without precision, for fear of "stigmatizing" Muslims, we alienate public opinion and isolate the majority of Muslims who are integrating and want to be as much part of our society as any other group. Then, because we won't identify the problem as it is, a subterranean debate takes the place of an open one, and that debate lumps all Muslims together. So in the interest of "defending" the Muslim community, we actually segregate it by refusing to have an honest debate about what is happening.
