The Hobbit trailer and official song

The new Hobbit movie from Peter Jackson looks pretty good.

People familiar with the books know that the tone of The Hobbit is quite different to The Lord of The Rings books, and in a way, it's too bad Jackson ended up making them in reverse order.

Speaking of tone, or lack thereof, a little known fact is that there is a groovy, .and in this instance, by groovy, I mean awful  "Ballad of Bilbo Baggins" sung by Leonard Nimoy that you can see and hear below. Most illogical.

The Heated Hobbit Labour Dispute

The labour crisis has just been settled, but actors' unions almost were responsible for New Zealand losing the two Hobbit films which have a combined production cost of $500 million.
