TTC slogan "The Better Way" takes on a brand new meaning
Did you ever have a long, boring trip on the subway and wish there was an interesting way of passing the time?
An enterprising (and hopelessly drunk) couple found that way on the University-Spadina subway line in Toronto on Sunday afternoon.
Sexual intercourse!
After objections from fellow passengers, they did exercise a bit of decorum and got off the train at the Spadina station. But understandably, they didn't want to suffer the pangs of transit interruptus, so they resumed their activity on the subway platform. (see video)
Evidently, charges are pending.

Toronto subway car invaded by cult of idiots
Now that their medieval village has been swept away, Occupy Toronto is desperate for any attention they can get. Annoying people innocently trying to ride home on the subway is the sort of tactic that explains why their efforts have been such a failure.

Ontario government to go forward with Toronto's Request To Ban TTC Strikes

In response to a request from the Toronto City Council, Ontario is introducing new legislation to ban strikes and lockouts on the city's transit system.
The proposed Toronto Transit Commission Labour Disputes Resolution Act, 2011, to be introduced later today, responds to the City's request to designate the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) as an essential service. The legislation, if passed, would provide for binding arbitration by a neutral third party when collective agreements cannot be reached through bargaining. The Act, if passed, also calls for a review of the legislation after a five-year period.
Today's announcement follows consultations held between the Ministry of Labour, the City of Toronto, the TTC and all its bargaining agents.
