Going off the reservation: Pseudo-natives plan protest against Sun Media
A handful of Natives along with a bunch of oddball white folk who like to pretend they have native roots, plus some of the usual, bitter suspects from the perpetually-aggrieved left are planning a protest against Sun Media this coming Saturday.
Ostensibly, the cause of their ire is alleged anti-First Nations "racism" from Sun Media, but that is rather clearly a ruse for the attention-whores involved with the protest. What has really got their goat is how Sun News has exposed the corruption, waste and malfeasance occurring on many Native reserves that is being funded by the Canadian taxpayer.
Sun has also led the way in showing that the preposterous Idle No Move protests are staged nonsense. When its icon, Theresa Spence, went on a so-called hunger strike, it was Sun News that showed how she is actually taking in more calories during her supposed fast than the average Ethiopian on a regular day. The links between the union-funded, withering Occupy movement and Idle No More has also been something people affiliated with the later group were enraged at Sun News for having exposed.
Among the participants who have so far signed up on the protest's facebook page are public service union honcho John Baglow, who operates the blog Dr. Dawg. Baglow was the plaintiff in a libel suit he launched, and lost, because his feelings were hurt in a rancorous online debate.
Another particiant is a reporter from the fanatically radical, neo-Marxist website rabble.ca, the operating budget of which is mainly funded by unions and is published by the spouse of NDP Deputy Leader Libby Davies. Krystalline Kraus is rabble.ca's resident Indian-o-phile whose facile writing refers to North America as "Turtle Island," a pseudo-Native sounding term that was invented by white leftist activists in the 1970's and has no history of use by Native tribes in North America. Of course, there is no evidence to suggest that First Nations ever believed the North American continent was an island. It took stupid white leftists to invent that version of history.
Kraus actually credulously reported, evidently based on wishful thinking and delusion, that a defrocked, discredited United Church Minister and fringe Native movement hanger-on named Kevin Annett "performed an exorcism rite in St. Peter's Square, which was followed 12 hours later by a tornado - almost unprecedented in that time and place - which devastated central Rome and the Vatican."
For similar stupidity and a collection of unhinged weirdness, you can watch the protest Saturday afternoon - the details are at the group's facebook page.

Canada's "Old Left" still pushing the vapid, irrelevant Occupy Movement
From Greg Renouf's blog Genuine Witty:
..They’re the people who hijacked the Occupy movement and changed the focus from being about problems with the banks and corporations to focussing on issues like identity politics, and promoting the NDP. In Canada, one of the commonalities of the Activistocrats is that most of them have connections to Judy Rebick- one of the queens of this country’s old-left…
Rebick is a well-known feminist, and a professor at Ryerson university. Rebick is also deeply connected to the NDP- including radicals like CAW economist Jim Stanford, Former NDP MP (and shoplifter) Svend Robinson and radical NDP MP Libby Davies. Rebick also has very tight ties with Alex Hundert, a currently incarcerated criminal who was a ringleader for the violence at Toronto’s G20- and, with Harsha Walia (who was at the G20 wearing a mask) an advocate for the violence on Vancouver’s streets during the 2010 Olympics.
Rebick was also the founder of Rabble.ca, a radical online publication funded by the unions. Rabble is famous for it’s lock-step support of old-left policies- they’ve been caught publishing a number of outright lies. Rabble has also labelled the vandals from the G20 as ‘political prisoners’, and has given a lot of support to Black Bloc anarchists. Rabble is also well-known as the slander machine of the old-left, I know this from experience after they published (and quickly retracted) two stories slandering your’s truly.
When it comes to the radical old-left, and violent anarchists, Judy Rebick is the Kevin Bacon of both worlds…

Occupy Movement 1 year later - still stupid, still irrelevant, a lot less crowded
The CBC made this mostly laudatory puff piece about the now mostly-defunked, asinine Occupy Movement a year after its beginnings. Included is an interview with the mastermind of the inept would-be social movement, Kalle Lasn, the creepy publisher of AdBusters magazine, who with his Estonian family fled to Nazi Germany at the end of the Second World War.
One of the more interesting people to emerge from Canada's Occupy Movement is a fellow named Greg Renouf, who is featured in the CBC report. Renouf was one of the original members of "Occupy Canada," but he became disillusioned after seeing the way unions, the NDP and a number of nefarious individuals usurped what began as a 'leaderless' movement to try to advance their own personal agendas. He has since exposed many of the slimy characters involved with Canada's Occupy Movement and in so doing has become reviled and has even been viciously assaulted by them.
His website and YouTube channel frequently have fascinating exposés you won't see anywhere else.

Despite what you're hearing, leftists are losing the culture wars
When I was in university, oh so many years ago now, I noticed a consistent characteristic among my contemporaries who were immersed in political activism - they were all assholes.
There weren't that many of them. When we`re in our late teens and early twenties, most of us are wrapped up in trying get laid, have fun, get our assignments in on time, recover from hangovers, pass our courses and dream lofty, ambitious dreams of our future. There may have been an issue or two to get each of us temporarily riled up, but it took a special class of person to be continually devoted to aggressively ramming political and social issues down other people`s throats. Invariably, back then, everyone I knew who who fit that description was a leftist. There may have been young conservative activists, but if there were, they operated with exceptional stealth, because I never met any.
Most of the young activists I remember were socially maladroit, had bad relationships with their parents, and seemed to be acting out some inner turmoil. The worst part about such people is that, while far from shining examples of humanity, they want to dictate how other people should think and behave.
Therein lies the problem with most of our "social justice" zealots; the stylized social justice they promote is frequently self-serving, hypocritical and fatuous.
It is troublesome that the agenda pushed by the radical left has been overwhelmingly advocated by a sympathetic television, film and print media, hoping to impart values they want society as a whole to assimilate. But despite their self congratulation, indications are that common sense is winning out and the left isn't nearly as influential as they think they are.
For years now, the video game industry has been making more money than the film industry and commanding far more attention from makes under the age of 30. This is an age group that couldn't care less what Jon Stewart, George Strombolopolis, Bill Maher, Michael Moore and Chris Matthews have to say about anything, let alone politics. To be fair, Rush Limbaugh and Mark Steyn hold just as little if not less interest for teenage and young adult males. But the latter may take some comfort in the entertainment they do flock to.
Daniel Tosh, who recently became the bane of humorless feminists because of a rape joke, has the highest rated television show for young male on any US cable network, followed closely by the libertarian, anti-hippie South Park. It's also worth noting that the hero of the most popular movie of the year is a rich, capitalist vigilante.
The Call of Duty series is the most popular video game series ever. In the last installment of its Black Ops game, the villains were Communists. In the newest installment, Call of Duty Black Ops 2, which looks set to be one of the most popular releases ever, in a move that has already infuriated leftists, the villain is a presumptive leader of the vapid Occupy Movement. The game's bad guy, Raul Menendez, is described at the "messiah for the 99%."
So while irrelevant aged radicals try to self promote and capitalize on the anti-capitalist Occupy Movement and delusionally claim the few scraggly malcontents it managed to conjure were representative of youth as a whole, reality is something very different. Ironically, it's virtual reality where the real attitudes of the up-and-coming generation are reflected, and they aren't interested in being part of the radical left, they play games where they pretend to kill them.
Given the 100 million deaths in the real world that Communism has caused since its inception, a prevailing violent rejection and hostility to it in the world of gaming is a comforting cause for optimism about the future.

The Food Stamp President becomes the Class Warfare President
With what may be President Obama's final State of the Union address , he has outlined the divisions that will define the philosophical conflict in the 2012 election. The conflict to be played out will be the battle between American exceptionalism and European-style class resentment.
“You can call this class warfare all you want. But asking a billionaire to pay at least as much as his secretary in taxes? Most Americans would call that common sense.”
Obama didn't actually distinguish what kind of taxes he was talking about during his attempt at divisive populism during his State of the Union speech tonight. The reason those billionaires are paying less in taxes is because they tend to make more income from Capital Gains taxes. That's tax on profits from investments bought with money they have already paid taxes on. Like when you get taxed on interest in your bank account.
What does raising the tax rate on investment income usually accomplish? Lower investment rates. Investments are what create jobs and drive industry. If Obama had ever held a real job in his life, he might understand that better. But seemingly motivated by the defunct, vapid Occupy movement's call to class warfare and vilifying the "1%", the Food Stamp President, who is in danger of losing the 2012 election, has leaped upon the opportunity to exploit class resentment.
A disciple of radical activist Saul Alinsky, Mr. Obama may not have a tremendous understanding of the American spirit, which is something very different than the attitudes in the socialist Europe he admires and wants to emulate.
That weakness has laid bare the Republican strategy, to play upon optimism and the American dream and use it against Mr. Obama's 21st Century version of Jimmy Carter's National Malaise.
The man who came to Washington promising "change" is now likely to be remembered as "The Great Divider," being responsible for more political polarization than a predecessor who was relentlessly accused of that fault.
Obama's State of the Union shows a President who thinks he leads a nation as pessimistic as he is. That betrays a fundamental misunderstanding of the American character and one that will likely cost him more votes than the Deocrats' war chest can buy between now and November.
Update: I think I know where Obama's getting his stupid economic ideas
Herman Cain's response to the State of the Union address was rather good:

The strange case of Baylor U's Marc Ellis
An odd professor by the name of Marc Ellis is the Director of Baylor University’s Center for American and Jewish Studies in Texas. To get an idea of where Ellis' head is at, one need only read his recent quote extolling the vapid Occupy Movement: "Think Karl Marx, the great exemplar of social justice."
This idolizer of the creator of a form of social justice that murdered 100 million people in the last century is an anti-Israel professor prone to weird statements like, "Put simply, "Jewish" has taken on an imperial and colonial flavor."
Baylor is trying to get rid of Ellis but no one outside the university administration, Ellis and his lawyers seems to know why, and no one is talking.
Ellis blames Baylor University's president Ken Starr for his woes. (Yes, that Ken Starr, the prosecutor who went after Bill Clinton for lying about his relationship with Monica Lewinsky) .
All parties agree that charges had been filed against Ellis, who said, "Former Baylor University presidents Herbert Reynolds, Robert Sloan, John Lilley and Bill Underwood were protective of me against tides of criticism which powerful others swept to my feet through the years..Thus, I wondered when Kenneth Starr became president if the protections would change.”
Ellis' supporters are centred at the group Jewish Voice for Peace, an organization made up largely of Reconstructionist Jews, a sect whose religious leaders seemingly get their divinity degrees from ads at the back of comic books. They contend that Ellis is being dismissed for his anti-Israel opinions.
They have started a petition which has anti-Zionist denizens like Desmond Tutu and Cornel West helming it, claiming, "Marc Ellis is under internal investigation in what looks more and more like a persecution to silence a Jewish voice of dissent. In short, Baylor is re-writing its rules to dismiss Marc Ellis from the faculty."
Yeah, except according to the Baylor Lariat, the Baptist university's student newspaper, neither Ellis nor his lawyers nor supporters will divulge which rules are allegedly being rewritten and what the charges are against him. The university can only disclose them with Ellis' consent and he has so far refused to give it. He appears to be alleging the university is selectively enforcing rules, but he won't say which ones.
Make of that what you will, but here is a man who wants people to rush to his defence, and won't tell them from what they are supposed to be defending him. That's just the sort of logic one could reasonably expect from the head of a Jewish studies department who seeks to cripple the country created as a Jewish refuge.

Justin Trudeau is the 99% and makes himself over to prove it
Liberal MP Justin Trudeau, the privileged son of former Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, wouldn't want to be thought of as one of the ruling elite, the horrible 1% vilified by the vacuous Occupy Movement.
But with the baggage of wealth and being a member of Parliament, he actually IS a member of the ruling elite.
So how to convince his peeps that he is down with the masses!? Why, what better way than to turn his face into the ubiquitous Guy Fawkes mask that is as much a feature of the Occupy Movement as the cultish repetition of "the people's mic."
There's an old story that the beautiful but dumb dancer Isadora Duncan approached the brilliant but grizzled playwright and critic George Bernard Shaw with the offer, "We should have a child together George! Imagine what a triumph a child would be with my looks and your brains!"
"That may be so, my dear," replied Shaw, "but what if he were to have my looks and your brains?"
Every time Justin Trudeau makes the news, I'm reminded of that story.

Toronto subway car invaded by cult of idiots
Now that their medieval village has been swept away, Occupy Toronto is desperate for any attention they can get. Annoying people innocently trying to ride home on the subway is the sort of tactic that explains why their efforts have been such a failure.
Their clueless lack of factual data could be another.

Fiscal conservatives are the modern day Robin Hoods
Before its demise, while walking through the muddy turf at the grimy Occupy Toronto compound not so long ago, amid the accosting cacophony of signage, one could spot the inevitable placard calling for a "Robin Hood" tax. The call for a special tax on the higher income earners is a routine feature of demonstrations by anti-Capitalist, anti-Globalization activists, and the the notion of it betrays their misconception of economics and history. The premise behind a Robin Hood tax runs completely opposite to everything the outlaws of Sherwood Forest represented.
Steal from the rich and give to the poor was the mission statement that enshrined the Merry Men and their leader as heroes in popular culture. But who were the rich in the medieval Europe? It was the nobility, who were also the government. And what was the source of the wealth accumulated by the aristocracy at the time of the Plantagenet kings? It was taxes that the government forcibly extracted from the poor. Robin Hood retook the money that the government took away to be spent on items that fulfilled their own agenda, and returned it to the people, who could use it to feed and serve the needs of the private citizenry.
So who is it now that wants to stop the government's ability to force you to give them money, for which they account rather poorly and regularly squander? It's not the defunct Occupy Movement, or the tax-hungry New Democratic Party. They want to hand more money to the government and use that as a conduit to claim more of it for themselves. It's not the civil service unions, who want to raise taxes so that more of them can remain secure at the expense of the rest of the public.
Today's Robin Hoods are fiscal conservatives who, like their legendary predecessor, want to keep money out of the hands of inept bureaucracies and restore it to the hands of the people. Fiscal conservatives, like Robin Hood, believe that money belongs to those who worked for it in the first place so they can choose how to use it for themselves.
The anti-globalization, anti-capitalist movement's profound ignorance is evidenced by their wanting to replace a system that has provided the most freedoms and prosperity in the history of mankind with a proven failure. The Marxist-based one they prefer has, every single instance it has been used at the governmental level, resulted in totalitarian dictatorships and national squalor. If you to do something inefficiently and incompetently with the worst possible outcome, there's generally no better way of accomplishing that than to hand the job over to government. That is precisely what the anti-capitalist backers of the failed Occupy Movement want to do.
The only resemblance the anti-Capitalists in the Occupy Movement had with Robin Hood and his Merry Band was that they lived in outdoor encampments. But that's where the similarity ends. In reality, they, and the political actors like those in the NDP who support higher taxes, are acting as proxies for our Sheriff of Nottinghams and King Johns who want your money for their own selfish purposes.

Violent, stupid McGill students demand apology for being called violent
This is priceless - a group of violent McGill University protesters who intimidated and abused female staff at McGill by occupying their office and confining them are demanding an apology for McGill's Provost because he referred to them as exactly what they are.
If it were I, this would by my apology to them.
If it were I, this would by my apology to them.
Three reasons why Canada's radical leftists are so humourless
Those of us familiar with the radical left know they do some things very well, like sanctimony, hypocrisy, and emotional hysteria, but something they haven't mastered is having a sense of humour.
It's not that they aren't funny. They are frequently hilarious, such as instances when an obese leftist claimed that by being ignored in a hardware store, she was a victim of sexual oppression, or proto-activist Judy Rebick's insane claim that Prime Minister Stephen Harper's criticism of NDP House leader Libby Davies, when she effectively denied Israel's legitimacy, stemmed from his being a sexist. But the problem is that when they say these comically outlandish things, they aren't trying to be funny; they mean them.
So in order to understand this strange phenomenon, this (pseudo) scientific analysis will examine the three main reasons why the Canadian far left is so pathologically incapable of having a sense of humour.
1. They're afraid of offending anyone (and conversely, are offended by everything)
Of course by anyone, we aren't including Christians and white conservatives. They go to great effort to offend those groups. And they now have expanded to trying to offend Jews (which isn't that hard in some cases), whom they dislike, but being sensitive to charges of anti-Semitism, try to use the code word Zionist for Jew, although sometimes the veil does slip.
But getting back to their fear of offending, let's take this for example:
The willingness to offend is central to humour, and really nothing should be off limits. Most leftists would be appalled at that joke. That joke isn't anti-Gay, it's pro-blow job. The reason the chicken has to be Gay in it is because all pro basketball referees are male. And the joke is a word play joke based on a homonym. OK, I've made it totally unfunny by explaining and analyzing the joke, but you get the point. If you're anxious to find offense in everything and at the same time overly sensitive to the potential hurt feelings of everyone, you're lame.
2. They are mainly motivated by jealousy
Contemporary Canadians live in a time and place where we are better off then just about anyone else, anywhere, ever. Sure, there`s always room for more improvement, but we live in times where the average lower middle class person has more luxuries and privileges than an 18th Century European nobleman. We have free education, free health care, home computers and on-demand music and videos, and mobile personal communication devices with instant, global reach..
We live in a society where one of the cause celebres is childhood obesity.
That`s right, we live in a time and place where a lot of people are complaining because they eat too much! If the average person three hundred years ago were to learn that overeating would be a major complaint in the future, they would think their descendants insane. And perhaps they would be right.
It's hard to be funny, avaricious and and bitter at the same time and jealousy is what is really the motivation behind Canada's radical leftists. They would never admit jealousy is what drives them. In fact, they probably don't even recognize that trait in themselves.
But the way the radical left looks at things is not what they have, but what others have. They obsess that if someone else has something, then they too should be entitled to it. It doesn`t matter if people better off than them worked harder, are smarter, took risks to achieve their advantages, or just made better decisions. That`s not important. What`s important is that someone else has something that they want. And because they recognize that their own limited talents and the potential of their Equity Studies degrees limits them to a life not much better than the one they have now, rather then trying to improve their lives, they want to tear down the achievements of people more successful than they.
That type of bitterness just isn`t funny.
3. They're stupid
A sense of humour is a sign of intelligence and the radical left is not comprised of particularly intelligent people. If there was ever any question about their utter intellectual incompetence, the Occupy Movement put a stake through the heart of any remaining doubt.. These are people who hate the government and saw the solution to their problems being a bigger government with expanded powers. The imbeciles thought that squatting in public parks was a profound way of addressing income inequity. Their notion of economics consisted of imagery of the tuxedoed Monopoly man or Scrooge McDuck sitting atop a pyramid of gold coins. The money that they are complaining about is for the most part used to create new jobs, finance ventures which improve society, and serve as security for funding that is used to build new businesses. That's aside from the fact that the top 1% of income earners they sought to vilify contribute over 30% of tax revenue. And that figure doesn't include the billions for targetted philanthropic efforts, such as Bill Gates' campaign to eradicate Malaria.
Gates' effort has led to thousands of saved lives, whereas the entire Occupy Movement combined has saved zero lives but is responsible for at least 3 deaths, a dozen rapes and countless physical assaults. Say what you will about the Tea Party, they tend not to rape and murder each other at their demonstrations.
All the Occupy Movement managed to conclusively accomplish is to prove that the radical left is made up of idiots. They have enablers, like Michael Moore, Keith Olbermann, Naomi Klein and others who tried to project their own issues into Occupy Whatever, but the movement was too disorganized to come up with any coherent message despite the prodding.
Aside from their lack of comprehension of basic economics, they are too stupid to recognize their own hypocrisy and racism. These are people who will rush to condemn the slightest perceived insult or offense to the feelings of one of their myriad categories of oppressed peoples, but at the same time will excuse the most depraved barbarity from radical Muslims or if it is perpetrated by a what they call racialized minorities. Why? Becuase the radical left who purport to be anti-racists are really racists of the worst kind. They clearly view their so-called oppressed brothers and sisters as barbarians too primitive to be held up to the standards of the Great White West.
The Can Rad Left's stupidity, sanctimony and hypocrisy requires them to view the world in a bigoted way suggesting such a lack of personal insight as to disqualify the possibility of any sense of humour in them.
Still, the left's absence of humour doesn't mean they aren't good for laughs; but as the old saying goes, it's laughing at and not with them.
Q: Why did the Gay chicken cross the basketball court?
A: He heard the ref was blowing fowls on the other side.
