Jonathan Kay: Bashing Israel on Vancouver buses isn’t a form of hate speech

Jon Kay makes some excellent points in his latest piece for the National Post:

...It would be nice if Vancouver transit riders could be educated about the intricacies of the Middle East conflict with a single ad. But alas, this one leaves out some crucial information. The second panel, marked “UN Plan 1947,” for instance, might have informed the reader that the depicted distribution of land was unanimously rejected by Arab nations, which then massed armies on Israel’s border in order to annihilate the nascent Jewish state. Nor does the ad depict the distribution of land contained in the peace deal offered to Yasser Arafat at Camp David in 2000. Oh, and the part about “five million” Palestinian refugees might have mentioned that this number has been artificially inflated by a unique UN provision, applicable only to Palestinians, extending the definition of “refugee” into intergenerational perpetuity.

We`re really getting desperate for controversy

Western liberals with too much time on their hands and not enough to think about are upset about the `inherent sexism` in this Chinese Coca-Cola campaign.

Former Drama teacher Trudeau has lame response to "in over his head" ad

Liberals may lap up Justin Trudeau's wimpy response to the Conservative attack ad "just in over his head" launched against last week.

In a cheesy classroom setting Trudeau effectively reminds us that he isn't up to the job to which he aspires. Repeating "he worked hard" to get where he is, with his paper-thin list of accomplishments, implicit is that the hardest work he ever did was manage to get the surname "Trudeau" on his birth certificate.

NDP front group issues `cease and desist` letter against Tim Hudak for calling them a Liberal front group

Working Families Ontario, which is funded by the same labor unions closely affiliated with the New Democratic Party has issued a `cease and desist` letter against the Ontario Progressive Conservatives for an advertisement that depicts the advocacy group as a ``Liberal front.``

This is a rather worrying trend about Hudak`s PCs. They don`t even know which opposition groups are doing what. At the very least, they should give credit where it is due.

Election fail: New Obama campaign ad suggests he really does want to f**k America

I only first heard of Lena Dunham last week, when the media covered this minor celebrity who thinks child molesting murderers are a great topic for twitter jokes. The good news is that I'm sure the massive tattoos on her flabby arms won't make her look like a complete skank when she turns 40....

Sesame Street wants Obama to take Big Bird ad down

The production company behind Sesame Street is asking political campaigns to refrain from using their characters in campaign ads — including an Obama campaign ad that uses Big Bird.
"Sesame Workshop is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization and we do not endorse candidates or participate in political campaigns. We have approved no campaign ads, and as is our general practice, have requested that the ad be taken down," the company said in a Tuesday statement.

Iranian lawmaker wants to ban Samsung products over "insulting" Israeli ad

A senior lawmaker says Iran's Majlis is considering a plan to cut off the country's economic transactions with South Korea's Samsung in reaction to the company's anti-Iran teaser.

Head of Majlis Energy Committee Arsalan Fat'hipour said the double-urgency plan, aimed at imposing a complete ban on buying all Samsung products, would make the company regret making the insulting teaser

UNICEF says Santa is a Eurocentric, western, white-privileged male

UNICEF's new ad makes Santa out to be an uncompassionate, mean-spirited westerner, contemptuous of the suffering of  the Third World, while portraying themselves as the good guys. That might go over better if UNICEF wasn't an appendage of the UN, the most incompetent, corrupt organization in the world.

With more ads like these, the rest of us might become more indifferent to the 3rd World too.

If you're looking for a good cause to give a donation this season, consider the NGO UN Watch, which works to protect human rights while exposing the deceit and hypocrisy that goes on at The United Nations.

Hilarious ad from the director of Airplane! spoofing Senator "don't call me ma'am" Barbara Boxer

This could be the funniest political ad ever!

From The Hill:
The spoof is below:
"A well-known Hollywood producer and director has cut an ad against Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) riffing on when the senator chided an Army brigadier general last year for calling her "ma'am."
David Zucker, the director of the 1980 comedy classic "Airplane!" who has worked on myriad films including the "Naked Gun" and "Scary Movie" franchises, directed the "Call Me Senator" spot for Right Change, a 527 and 501(c)4 organization "committed to supporting policies and candidates dedicated to fiscal responsibility and a strong national security for the United States, while upholding the principles of freedom, competitiveness and entrepreneurial spirit of the American people."

That hot woman on ChatRoulette...is possessed by SATAN!!

The film The Last Exorcism has one of the best ever Internet campaigns going by luring unsuspecting victims on the site ChatRoulette, where people (predominantly male) anonymously pair up via webcam, generally to expose themselves. Some boys must have thought they hit the jackpot when they found themselves looking at a an attractive brunette, seemingly in real time. She smiles seductively and tantalizingly starts to undo her lacy  top when..her eyes roll back in her head, which starts to contort Linda Blair-style and she ferociously attacks the camera.

The young men watching live on the other side of the connection are, to say the least, taken by surprise.

Watch it here:
