NDP Deputy Leader Libby Davies uses Gaza crisis to deliberately undermine Thomas Mulcair

There's an internal war going on in the New Democratic Party over Israel. The party's hard-core, anti-capitalist, loony-left fanatics have the end of the Jewish state as part of their religious canon. However, as crazy as he knows they are, and distasteful as he finds the fanatical bigots in the NDP,  party leader Thomas Mulcair is in a difficult position with them.

The hard left and their effective leaders Libby Davies and Megan Leslie represent the zealous activists who do lots of the party legwork during elections, and they make up a core part of NDP support. But by appealing to the nutcase left, the NDP simultaneously alienates voters who aren't ideologically rabid fanatics. To make the NDP more palatable to sane voters, Mulcair has done some work to sanitize the party, recently keeping hateful anti-Israel candidates like Paul Manly from seeking the party's nomination for a federal seat. But he also has to tread the fine line of continuing to engage the NDP's worst elements.

That tightrope Mulcair is walking is a difficult one, and increasingly so as with an apparently deliberate effort by his Deputy Leader Libby Davies to undermine him.

Davies severely embarrassed her party and ruined an opportunity for the NDP to capitalize on the Conservative and previous Liberal governments' handling of the Afghan file by become a major distraction with her anti-Israel rhetoric in 2010. In a statement made to a citizen journalist in a YouTube video, Davies' effectively said that Israel had no legitimacy as a country. The upheaval that report caused in the media and among her own party led to Davies being condemned by Mulcair and a humiliating pilgrimage by the late NDP leader Jack Layton to Israel's ambassador in Canada to apologize for her comments.

In the aftermath of that 2010 catastrophe for the NDP,  Davies was told in no uncertain terms by the party leaders, including Mulcair, to stay away from commenting on international issues that had no bearing on her brief as Health Critic. But among the many things of which Libby Davies can be accused, being bright or good at impulse control are not among them. Davies continued to occasionally veer into outbursts about Israel, such as with her support for the Sea Hitler flotilla that attempted to break the arms embargo of the terror group Hamas.

Now, just days after NDP leader Mulcair issued a balanced call for the cessation of hostilities and blamed Hamas for the continuation of violence, Davies is undermining her party leader by endorsing a petition which places all the blame for the Gaza crisis on Israel.

Composed by her fellow NDP Sea Hitler supporter, Quebec MP Alexandre Boulerice,  the petition completely neglects to mention Hamas but does state: "There is only one solution to achieve this for both Palestinians and Israelis: putting an end to the occupation of the West Bank and the siege of Gaza. " Absent from Boulerice's and Davies' reasoning is that the blockade of Gaza was caused by the launch of missiles from it and the fact that it is controlled by a terror group committed to not only the elimination of Israel but the murder of any Jew it can find. The West Bank occupation continues, despite many offers that would have given the Palestinians a state of their own, because no Palestinian leadership has been found that would negotiate in good faith. 

The Davies wing's resentment of Thomas Mulcair is well known. Murray Dobbin, a columnist for rabble.ca, a radical, far-left online magazine published by Libby Davies' spouse Kim Elliott, recently sent out an email encouraging NDP supporters to withhold donations from the party. Dobbin's email pronounced:   "...Mulcair sucker-punched Vancouver MP Libby Davies for a Youtube interview in which Davies criticized Israel's illegal occupation. It was a disgusting betrayal of NDP principles and ended up with the humiliation of Jack Layton who went cap-in-hand to the Israeli ambassador and apologized. It was a low point in the NDP's and Layton's history. Fortunately, a wave of protest prevented Layton from demoting Davies. Now Mulcair, a devoted Zionist who refuses to adhere to the NDP’s policy on Palestine, is at it again...Just another reason to boycott all NDP fund-raising appeals until the party begins behaving in a principled manner worthy of a social democratic party."

The Davies wing of radicals within the NDP want to use Israel as a dagger to stab Thomas Mulcair in the back. Whether Mulcair can strike a balance with them, is undermined by them, or is forced to discipline them is something that will be a very interesting situation to watch unfold in the coming months before the next election.

An Eye on a Crazy Planet endorsement of Adam Vaughan in tomorrow's Trinity Spadina by-election

In elections, for the most part, we don't vote for who we want, we vote for who we can live with.

Of the three major political parties in Canada today, the Conservatives have, far and away, the best leadership. Our current government may get some things wrong, but measured against the radicals and incompetents in Tom Mulcair's NDP and the bumbling stupidity of Liberal leader Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister Stephen Harper is a superlative statesman and leader by comparison, and a good one by any standard in today's world.

Tomorrow, on Monday, June 30, a by-election is happening in Toronto's Trinity-Spadina riding. I know the riding very well, having been born in, grew up in and lived in it for 30 years and it's where my son currently goes to school.  In the early 1980's I was Vice President of the riding's Liberal Youth Association when Jim Coutts, who had been Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, unsuccessfully vied for Spadina's Parliamentary seat. The riding has an over-concentration of privileged, aged socialists on the public teat who think more taxes and government control are the solution to all life's problems along with a recent influx of shallow condo Yuppies.

The reality is that the Conservatives have absolutely no chance of winning Monday's Trinity-Spadina by-election. The last time a Conservative represented the area was 1970-72 when Perry Ryan, representing the old Spadina riding, switched parties from the Liberals.The riding, with its old and new boundaries, has changed hands between the Liberals and NDP since then and there's no indication that is likely to change any time soon.

The effective two person race is between former Toronto City Councillor Adam Vaughan, running for the Liberals and Joe Cressy, who was an aide to the NDP incumbent MP Olivia Chow, whose resignation to try to capture Toronto's mayoralty necessitated the by-election.

Given that choice, Adam Vaughan is clearly the superior candidate.

While there is much in the way of policy that I disagree about with Adam, and I think he is likely to be as partisan a parliamentarian for the Liberals as they come, there are also very compelling reasons to elect him.

In the first place, Adam is smart. There was a time when we used to take that for granted among those who held seats in the House of Commons, yet such is no longer the case, and the examples of that decline are too many to enumerate here. But perhaps the best example of the decline in intellectual standards among elected politicians is the leader of the Liberal party for which Vaughan is running.

It does seem paradoxical to condemn Justin Trudeau while in effect asking people to vote for him by extension in casting a vote to strengthen his party's position in parliament.There is, however, a logical explanation. Justin Trudeau may have below-average intelligence, but if intelligence is quantifiable, then that description applies to half the voting public.

I know a woman who plans to vote for Justin Trudeau for no reason other than she likes his hair and thinks he's cute. No, I'm not joking, and unfortunately, yes, she was serious.

Stupid people vote, and there's every possibility that enough stupid people will vote for Justin Trudeau to elect him as the next Prime Minister. If you don't believe that, remember that Kathleen Wynne's hopelessly inept, corrupt government just got a majority in Ontario.

So in the event that Trudeau were to lead the country, it's far better he be surrounded by bright people like Adam Vaughan and sitting MP Marc Garneau than some of the idiots who are currently in the Liberals' Parliamentary caucus.

There are many other qualities possessed by Adam to recommend him for the office he's seeking tomorrow. He has demonstrated during his years as a City Councilor that he doggedly researches and familiarizes himself with relevant policies and procedures affecting his duties. Adam is also very responsive to constituency needs. Compare that with say, Ontario's Minister of Education who signs off on a curriculum she hasn't even bothered to read and dismisses public concerns about its radical and detrimental effects.

Another thing recommending Adam to higher public office is that he is not corrupt. I can count on the fingers of one hand the number of Toronto City Councilors about whom I'd say that with any measure of confidence and Adam Vaughan is one of them.

Vaughan's NDP opponent Joe Cressy doesn't have much in his favor to speak of. His party has two vacuous Deputy Leaders in the persons of Libby Davies and Megan Leslie and the NDP would run a ruinous economy if ever given the chance. Cressy himself, working for Olivia Chow, was serving a 57 year old person who has spent practically all of her adult life as a politician, yet has no notable achievement to speak of other than having married Jack Layton. So basically speaking, Cressy's resume is that he helped Olivia Chow suck up public finds for doing nothing, which isn't much of a recommendation for a Parliamentary seat.

For those who think Adam Vaughan is nothing but a stuffy old leftie, I've met him many times and he's personable and has a pretty decent sense of humor. And there's a story a good friend of mine relayed that may make Adam seem like more fun still.

This friend of mine was a drinking buddy of Adam's way back, before he was a City Councilor and even before he was a reporter for Toronto's CITY-TV. From what my friend told me, on occasion, when Adam was doing some power-drinking and knew he was on the path to getting sick, he would start to swallow the contents of vials of food coloring dye so that when he puked, it would be in rainbow colors.

Our nation's first, and many believe greatest Prime Minister was known for vomiting in public from drink, but never as impressively as with Adam Vaughan's rainbow barf.

And so tomorrow, when Trinity Spadina chooses its next MP, it strikes me that a smart guy who used to puke rainbows is a much better choice than the other guy, whose party would crush our national economy.

Both federal NDP Deputy Leaders promote depraved 9-11 conspiracy theories and antisemitism

The synchronization of 9-11 conspiracy lunacy and antisemitism has reached the highest levels of the New Democratic Party of Canada.

NDP Deputy Leader Megan Leslie recently promoted a 9-11 conspiracy event on her website.

Tory MP James Bezan called the posting on Leslie's website "shameful."

"Parliamentarians, especially senior members of the Official Opposition, should not be promoting these ideas," Bezan said in a statement. "Canadians should be able to expect reasoned positions on major issues, not statements that trivialize the deaths of Canadians and others or that make unfounded attacks on our allies.

"The 9/11 'truth' tour that MP Leslie is promoting on her website is shameful, and deeply disrespectful to the victims of 9/11." 

This complements the other NDP Deputy Leader, Libby Davies, who actually introduced a petition in Parliament that also promoted insane 9-11 conspiracy theories about US government involvement in the terror attacks on New York and Washington.

There is a heavy strain of antisemitism in the 9-11 "truth" movement, which consists in large measure of bizarre and psychologically damaged individuals. 

The Canadian government has made it clear it views the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions campaign against Israel to be an expression of Jew-hate. Prime Minister Harper has described it and the slander of Israel as an "apartheid" country as "nothing short of sickening" and "the face of the new antisemitism."   Yet both NDP Deputy Leaders Davies and Leslie have been outspoken in such anti-Israel positions. Davies has expressed personal support for such antisemitic boycott, divestment and sanctions against Israel, and Leslie has previously promoted an antisemitic "Israel Apartheid Week" event.

NDP leader Tom Mulcair is known to be supportive of Israel and democracy in the middle east. However, by appointing fanatics with bizarre, extremist views as his most senior deputies, it is an indication of the incompetence with which the federal NDP government would govern Canada if ever given the opportunity.

Poll says Canadians think justice system is too lenient, so Liberals, NDP and the CBC say Canadians must be reeducated

In a move that is entirely typical of the delusional arrogance of Canada's leftist political establishment, their response to a poll indicating that a majority of Canadians have lost confidence in the justice system is not to fix the system but to want to reeducate the pubic to be satisfied with it.

An internal study conducted by the Justice Department and obtained by the Canadian Press  "concludes the public believes victims are too often ignored in the justice system, and that prisons do a poor job of rehabilitating offenders."

The Conservative government has committed to introducing legislation to impose tougher mandatory sentences for crimes such as sex offenses against children and for the system to place more importance on the right of victims. But Opposition critics in the NDP and Liberal parties, as well as some federal bureaucrats argue that declining rates of crime in some areas mean that Canadians need to be "educated" about the virtues of the existing system.

These opposition critics probably do not live in crime-ridden areas of Toronto, however one or two may represent areas of Vancouver where during elections, junkies are reportedly given sandwiches   and are bussed to polling stations with instructions to cast a vote for a particular candidate.

Remarkably, in its usual effort to spin the news to its own biases, the CBC reported this story as "Canadians think fix for courts lies in education, report says" implying it it is not a small number of politicians and bureaucrats and CBC wonks who think that, but the majority of Canadians who in fact hold the opposite view.

Stephen Harper has driven the anti-Semitic, NDP-linked website rabble.ca apoplectic

It seems that Stephen Harper's speech to the Israeli legislature was so forceful, and so infuriating to the anti-Israel far-left that its effects included giving writers like Gerry Caplan an aneurysm, resulting in serious cognitive impairment. Either that, or Caplan was intentionally dishonest, or just plain stupid in a column published by rabble.ca claiming "Stephen Harper contended that Israeli policies should not be criticized, especially in public.... As Mr. Harper put it, criticism of Israeli policies is "the new anti-Semitism..."

Except that Harper not only didn't characterize all criticism of Israel as being anti-Semitic, but exclusively refuted that assertion. What Harper said was,  "Of course, criticism of Israeli government policy is not in and of itself necessarily anti-Semitic. But what else can we call criticism that selectively condemns only the Jewish state and effectively denies its right to defend itself while systematically ignoring – or excusing – the violence and oppression all around it?"

Which is very different indeed from the deceitful charges made by Gerry Caplan. But it's necessary for Caplan to lie in order to try to lay claim to the same territory that Harper himself explicitly covered in his speech, that not all criticism of Israel is anti-Semitic. Harper never suggested it was, but what he did describe as anti-Semitic is the unfair, dishonest, disproportionate and obsessive criticism of Israel of the sort in which rabble.ca routinely engages.  In another rabble column published the same day, some very twisted efforts at logic attempting to remake some of Caplan's assertions are endeavored by Murray Dobbin.  Dobbin is a board member of the NDP-linked think-tank Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives, which is one of rabble's main funders, and the bizarre claim he tries to make is that Canada's strong support for Israel hurts Israel.

Rather more sinisterly, Dobbin suggests the repulsive, anti-Semitic trope that Jews are themselves responsible for anti-Semitism by supporting Israel when he wrote.  "by encouraging the most right-wing, intransigent government in Israel's history, Harper helps ensure a powerful global movement opposed to Israel -- and that opposition inadvertently provides comfort to anti-Semites."  

So according to rabble, if Harper supports Israel, or, it would follow to reason also that if Jews support it, they are really just encouraging the hatred they incur.

What must really has rabble riled is that they will be called out for the anti-Semitic garbage they promote, in its support for "Israel Apartheid Week", and anti-Semitic boycotts of Israel. Or sometimes rabble makes very little effort to mask its more blatant bias against Jews, as in an article last week by its Ottawa correspondent Karl Nerenberg, who essentially suggested that Canadian Jews' primary loyalty is to Israel and that the Harper government is cynically exploiting that sentiment.

Of course rabble will protest that they aren't anti-Semitic and that some of their 'best friends,' including some of its correspondents and its founder Judy Rebick are Jewish. But it's only a particular type of Jew for whom rabble has any affinity. That would be the type that passes the litmus test of sharing their fanatical bias against the Jewish state, just as the Nazis were comparatively benevolent to Jews who assisted them in controlling the Jews they marked for extermination.

Speaking of marking Jews for extermination, rabble's writers took issue with Stephen Harper refusing to single out Israel for criticism. Just a week before his trip to Israel, the Prime Minister of Gaza's government, Ismail Haniya, threatened the lives of Israelis and called on young Palestinians to partake in jihad and "to love death for the sake of Allah as much as our enemies love life." Haniya then praised and extolled young Palestinians to emulate a woman named Reem al-Riyashi.

For those not familiar with the name, Reem al-Riyashi was a female Palestinian suicide bomber. A repulsive sociopath, al-Riyashi left her two young children and embarked on a mission to blow herself up at the Erez border crossing. Declaring in her 'farewell video' that she hoped "the shredded limbs of my body would be shrapnel tearing the Zionists to pieces" so she could be "knocking on heaven's door with the skulls of Zionists."

al-Riyashi murdered four Israeli personnel and injured 10 more when she blasted herself to smithereens. Hamas then ghoulishly paraded al-Riayshi's children on its notorious kids' TV show Pioneers of Tomorrow, where the smiling youngsters were told what a great accomplishment their mother had achieved. Hamas also put out a music video where children are encouraged to follow in al-Riyashi's footsteps.

Yet for the bigots at rabble.ca, which is published by the spouse of NDP Deputy Leader Libby Davies, it is Israel and only Israel that is the impediment to peace. And if rabble is to be taken seriously, anyone who denies that is just encouraging more Jew-hate.

Moral Imbecile Linda McQuaig running for NDP nomination in Toronto Centre

Linda McQuaig is something worse than just a moral relativist. She's a moral imbecile. Yesterday the sometime Toronto Star columnist declared her intent to bring her vacuity and hyperbolic peevishness to Canada's House of Commons on behalf of the New Democratic Party.

The riding's Parliamentary seat was recently left vacant by the retirement of former Liberal Party leader Bob Rae.

McQuaig is an ideologue who has campaigned against outlooks outside her narrow reasoning being taught at the University of Toronto. As the author of The Trouble with Billionaires, McQuaig presents a caricature of billionaires, suggesting that she knows very few, if any of them and even less about how they operate. One can envision vapid Occupy Wall Street-type rhetoric given a voice on Parliament Hill in the unlikely event McQuaig should be elected.

Her understanding of economics is predicated on her only looking for data that substantiates her polemical ideology. She bases her arguments on economics on the post-World War 2 growth period and attributing the economic success of those times to high tax rates while effectively discounting  the myriad of other factors that played a greater role.

But in that she only demonstrates a tremendous lack of insight. It is her lack of human decency that is far more troubling.

In 2010, nine Turkish activists attempting to break Israel's blockade of the Gaza strip were killed when they, along with a mob, attacked Israeli troops attempting to board the Mavi Marmara. 

That ship was the largest of seven boats in a small flotilla attempting to break a sea blockade of Gaza that was intercepted by Israel. The blockade is in place to prevent arms smuggling to Gaza, which is controlled by the terror group Hamas. Gaza is the world's largest per-capita recipient of aid and has one of the highest obesity rates on Earth.

There were no casualties on any of the other ships and the Mavi Marmara was the only one in which activists attacked the Israelis. The activists were part of a Turkish group called IHH that has known links to terror organizations. It's members who attacked the Israeli soldiers were self-declared jihadis who had expressed their desire for martyrdom.

At the time of that event, McQuaig equated those killings to that of Leon Klinghoffer by Palestinian terrorists. Klinghoffer was a helpless, innocent wheelchair-bound civilian travelling on a pleasure craft,  Achile Lauro, that was hijacked. He was murdered in cold blood by terrorists for no other reason than for being a Jew.

"There is a compelling need for a serious, UN-mandated investigation of these killings, which are as horrific as the killing on the Achille Lauro," wrote McQuaig.

Only a reprehensible moral imbecile could possibly equate his callous murder to the chaotic attempts at self-defense by a handful of Israeli commandos who were attacked and overwhelmed by dozens of knife and pipe wielding jihadist thugs.

Linda McQuaig is that reprehensible moral imbecile who wants to make her loathsome perspectives the voice of the Toronto Centre riding and the New Democratic Party of Canada.

Given some of the other voices in the NDP,  it would be shameful, but no great shock if she were successful.

NDP and Union-linked groups aid the world's leading state sponsor of terrorism

The Canadian Security Intelligence Service is a federal agency which, in the words of its mission statement is "dedicated to the protection of Canada's national security interests and the safety of Canadians." Like any other branch of government, it's not perfect, but their goal is to serve Canada and to foil its enemies, so who would say that Canadians should not cooperate with it under any circumstances?

The obvious answer is: Canada's enemies and those working in tandem with them.

The first time I heard of group called "Operation Maple" was when I encountered its representative among the angry radicals and mentally-ill street folk that comprised the disorganized, cult-like, public service union-financed Occupy Toronto campground a year and a half ago.

The Operation Maple representative, dressed in an astronaut costume, was one of a slew of self-promoting weirdos who appeared at the outdoor loon-fest. So despite looking like a finalist in a Halloween costume contest, he blended in perfectly with his surroundings.

But rather than a one-off, Operation Maple, like Occupy Toronto's initial incarnation that has since crumbled,  turns out to be a well-financed, partisan, NDP and union-linked astroturf (fake grass roots) effort designed to promote a disturbing agenda. That includes demonizing politicians who aren't on the far left, and bizarrely, to act as promoters for fanatics allied with Canada's enemies in the terror-sponsoring regime in Iran.

Operation Maple's website lets visitors know they are the same people behind a film called "Poor no More" which stars CBC comedienne Mary Walsh. The film is an unabashed polemic promoting union interests.  Mary Walsh may be far from the peak of her career, but renting her costs more money than the typical grass roots group has at its disposal. Still, her fee would be insignificant to the affluent Public Service and other unions.

More ominously, a recent Operation Maple video devoted to paranoid ravings about "criminalizing dissent" in Canada, that doesn't actually delineate how in any way dissent has been criminalized, features a creepy Hamilton, Ontario activist by the name of Ken Stone.

If all you had to go by was the information provided by Operation Maple's paranoid Scott Garland, this time sans spaceman outfit, one could easily draw the conclusion that CSIS agents arrived unannounced at Stone's home to intimidate him simply because he is an activist who dissents from government policy.

Bolstered by Stone's self-serving account, it seems these agents of the Canadian police state approached him merely because he wrote an editorial proposing Canada soften its stance towards the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The truth, however, is substantially different than Operation Maple's version of things.

It was not because of criticism of the Harper government in Stone's asinine editorial in The Hamilton Spectator that instigated an inquiry from CSIS. It was that combined with the fact that he went to Iran as a paid guest of the world's leading state-sponsor of terrorism.

Back in Canada, Stone continues to serve the interests of the dictatorship of Iran's brutal mullahs. He has done radio interviews to try to promote the homicidal dictatorship of Bashar al Assad in Syria, one of Iran's few regional allies.

Iran has tried to influence radical groups in Canada.  It is little wonder that Ken Stone has also tried to infuse himself in that Native movement, which is being courted by Stone's allies in Iran.

Interestingly, in the Operation Maple video, Stone describes receiving a phone call from someone he describes as an "Imam in Toronto." What Stone fails to mention in the video but has noted elsewhere is that the Imam was none other than the notorious Khomeinist hatemonger, Zafar Bangash.

Operation Maple's  recommended links are almost identical to those affiliated with rabble.ca, a website published by the spouse of NDP Deputy Leader Libby Davies. They include the NDP think tank The Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives, the radical, anti-globalization and anti-Israel group, the Council of Canadians, Public Service Unions like OPSEU, and other organizations on the hard left that have expressed positions that were soft on Iran's apocalyptic, misogynistic dictatorship.

Hamilton radical Ken Stone has resembled a clownish parody of far-left activism dating back to the 1960's. According to the Toronto Star, when accepting his Bachelor's Degree at the University of Toronto, Stone  "ripped his diploma in two." Then, " "Fellow niggers" the 21-year-old shouted in front of other University of Toronto graduates, professors and his uncomprehending parents. "Look what Mr. Charlie's done to your minds." (Mr. Charlie was a disparaging reference to white people.)."

CSIS is charged with defending the interests of democracy in Canada, while people siding with dictatorships like Iran and Syria pretend they are democracy's champions. It doesn't take much to figure who, between them,  is more credible. For some time, radical groups have been utilized, sometimes wittingly and sometimes not, by foreign nations hostile to the west.

Operation Maple and radicals like Ken Stone may appear too ridiculous to take seriously. But  the implications of powerful public unions, Native movements and even Canada's Official Opposition being utilized by Canada's enemies in Iran is something that we disregard at our own peril.

You've got to hand it to NDP leader Thomas Mulcair. He has a reputation for anger management issues and being a bit...off in the head.

So what better way to make himself look even-keeled and reasonable than to assign the two Deputy Leader roles to a pair of whack-jobs next to whom, by comparison, he is the model of sanity.

In that context, it makes sense he assigned those roles to Israel-hatin,' 9-11 conspiracy nut Loony Libby Davies, from the the junkie-haven of East Vancouver and on the Atlantic side of the country, Israel-hatin' Megan Leslie, who is promoting a sex party where free vibrators are on offer.

Given the NDP's constituency, this may be a good move for Leslie, but how it makes the national party look opens up other questions.

Will the NDP/Liberal cat fight end up as a sell-out of Ontario's taxpayers?

Ontario NDP leader Andrea Horwath is behaving like a deliciously sadistic political manipulator.

Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne is showing a palpable desperation to avoid an election in the wake of a Gas Plant cancellation scandal that cost Ontario taxpayers over half a billion dollars. The Having the Provincial NDP sign off on Wynne's budget is the only way the Liberals can hold on to power and Horvath seems to be reveling in that.

Taking full advantage of the Premier's weakness, Horvath is making Wynne contort and publicly prostrate herself, both committing to adopt just about every NDP demand in their budget and today offer a humiliating apology before the press corps. The latter stuck hard in Wynne's craw, in which she said she was sorry about a dozen times, but with typical Liberal insincerity, did not actually admit any culpability on behalf of her or her political party.

But Horwath has still not publicly committed to supporting the government in an upcoming vote, which if lost will result in a provincial election. The question now is whether after all that, Horwath pulls the rug out from under Wynne, leaving the Premier vulnerable and looking ridiculous, or will the NDP sell out Ontario's taxpayers fearing that an election may not do the 3rd party much good?

In either case, this has been an informative week about the character of Ontario's two most prominent political women.

What's the controversy? Isn't being a Communist Party member in the NDP like being an NRA member in the Republican Party?

For some strange reason, there are people who seem shocked that an NDP candidate was a Communist.

Coles warned of the possibility of a harshly right-wing Conservative government, if the budget was defeated and a premature election is called.  “Tim Hudak’s vision for Ontario is divisive and destructive, and he is even challenging the right of unions to exist.  We must not give Tim Hudak the chance he is looking for.”

Canadian socialist party will stop using "socialism" to describe its policies

The New Democratic Party of Canada realizes that the term "socialism" has developed negative connotations over the years. The years of abysmal economic failure and eventual totalitarianism.

To combat that perception, they just voted to remove the term "socialism" from its constitution.

The policies won't change - just the way they describe them.

Now if they could just stop their members of Parliament from exposing their communist sympathies, they might be a little more convincing.

Canada`s New Democratic Party has reprehensible Communists sitting in Parliament

Alexandre Boulerice isn`t the only communist hiding behind the `progressive` mask worn by Canada`s so-called New Democratic Party, but he may be the stupidest of the lot.

OTTAWA -- The NDP is in hot water over an MP's writings that praise communist pacifism and criticize Canada's participation in the First World War.

Writing on a left-wing Quebec blog, New Democrat MP Alexandre Boulerice mocked the conflict as "a purely capitalist war on the backs of the workers and peasants.

"The only ones to have refused this butchery, to have rejected the call of the 'sacred union' within each nation, were communist activists," Boulerice wrote in his 2007 posting on the blog Presse-toi à gauche (Hurry to the left).

Boulerice also sniped at Canadian soldiers involved in the Battle of Vimy Ridge, claiming that "thousands of poor wretches were slaughtered to take possession of a hill."  Almost 3,600 Canadians died in the battle to take the strategic Vimy Ridge from the heavily entrenched German forces of Kaiser Wilhelm on April 9, 1917.

This is not the first time the fanatic Boulerice has embarrassed Canada`s socialist Opposition party. Last year, as a rookie MP, he endorsed the terroist-enablers on the Sea Hitler Gaza boat who attempted to break Israel`s arms blockade of the Iranian-proxy terror group Hamas. When the support of the new MP for the Quebec riding of Rosemont la Petit-Partie became public, under pressure from NDP leader Thomas Mulcair, Boulerice withdrew his endorsement, but left no doubt about where his sympathies lay.
