UNESCO’s Grotesque Embrace of Che Guevara

 With an impeccable instinct for venerating murderous thugs, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has now added to its Memory of the World Register the writings of Cuba’s Ernesto “Che” Guevara. That means that the documents generated by Che during his bloody career will now be treated as historical treasures, protected and cared for with the help of UNESCO. What’s next? The teachings of Stalin and Pol Pot?

This ain't good - The United Nations wants to take control of the Internet

The Russian Federation is leading the charge for a UN treaty which would give national governments control over the Internet.

The UN itself wants the ability to impose Internet taxes to be applied from wealthier countries to poorer ones. Free speech, as always, is being threatened by the world forum whose membership includes a number of totalitarian regimes threatened by their inability to censor criticisms of their government or impose blasphemy regulations.

To give you an idea of what's in store, the UN's conference on International Telecommunications is set to take place next month in Dubai, on of the undemocratic United Arab Emirates.

If you live in a democratic country, pray your government has the wisdom and sanity not to ratify the treaty on your behalf.

Veiled threats of violence from prominent Toronto imam against those who exercise free speech

By our standards, it is illegal to marry a nine year old girl. If someone did that, had sex with her at the age of 13 and ordered the beheading of hundreds of people, by our standards he would be considered a bloodthirsty pedophile.

Islam's founder Mohammed did these things.

He wrote the Quran, which, aside from borrowing from earlier religious texts,  is full of contradictions and calls to violence.

All religions are illogical and stupid to some degree, but some are more stupid than others.

One, Islam is so frightened of exposure of the hate, violence and stupidity upon which it was founded that it is willing to kill over criticism of its supposed "prophet."

At a rally in Toronto yesterday calling for Islamic-type blasphemy laws to be introduced to western society, a prominent imam and Muslim leader, Zafar Bangash, made the following veiled threat of violence. Referring to the anti-Islam YouTube video that has enraged Muslims throughout the world, he said:

"There are Christian fundamentalists in the United States and Zionists in the United States, and in fact right here in Canada as well, who support this kind of behaviour. And we want to bring to their attention that if you go down that route, the consequences will be frightening for everybody. We are not a violent people, we don’t issue threats, but we will not surrender our rights to our dignity, to our honor, and the honor of our prophet! Let this be very clear, let every politician in this country take note, that Muslims will not surrender when the honor of our prophet is violated! We will stand up and defend it no matter what!"

Other religions can be criticized and mocked without threat of violence. Does Islam demand special consideration because it is an insecure religion built on the weakest of foundations? Or is it that Muslims worldwide are so deprived of the freedoms that westerners have enjoyed since the Enlightenment, they consider that the norm. In either case, if we do not stand up for our freedoms and rights in the face of threats from Islamist totalitarians, we will lose the most important aspect that western civilization has fooght for centuries to achieve. The right to express our ideas as free men and women.

Another Arab Spring Triumph - Egyptian actor sentenced to prison for "insulting Islam"

The sentence Wednesday evening came weeks after Islamists swept most seats in a parliamentary election. The case was brought by Asran Mansour, a lawyer with ties to Islamist groups, and had languished in court for months, judicial sources said.

Mansour accused the actor of offending Islam and its symbols, including beards and the Jilbab, a loose-fitting garment worn by some Muslims, the Egyptian news portal Ahramonline reported.

Crazy Iranian Morality Police invent new "crime" - water fights at a water park

The totalitarian Mullah-ocracy that has criminalized every form of fun has found a new excuse to jail young women. And yes, they actually do have an official Morality Police Force in Iran.

A senior judicial official in Iran says police have arrested 17 boys and girls over a water fight at a seaside park in the southern part of the country.   

Five of the youths were released immediately. The other 12 were released on bail on August 7 and could face charges of publicly committing "haram" -- a forbidden act -- after they splashed water on each other in the city of Bandar Abbas.       

 On July 29, several hundred young people took part in a large-scale water battle at a Tehran park, using toy water guns and plastic bottles in an event that was organized on the Facebook social networking website. Ten of those youths were arrested after photos of the event emerged on Facebook and made their way into mainstream media.  

General Ahmad Rouzbahani, head of Iran's morality police, warned that police "will act forcefully" against similar behavior and will not allow such events to happen in public places, or anywhere throughout the country."

The doppelgänger of fascism being promoted in our universities

No one would tolerate Nazism being taught as an acceptable approach to view social sciences in universities. Even fascism, which lacks the odious racially-based persecution of Nazism but is a political philosophy which sanctions state control over most aspects of citizens lives using brutal methods is roundly discredited and rejected outright.

Yet a totalitarian philosophy that has been categorically discredited, and has been responsible for scores of millions of deaths in the last century still has its vocal proponents in our university system.

Wherever Marxism/Communism has been employed as a governing ideology, be it in Cuba, Albania, the USSR, or Mao's China, the result has been totalitarianism, repression of basic rights and freedoms and state murder, often on a massive scale.

Yet we still have "the Marxist perspective" being taught in western universities as if it were a credible approach.

It isn't. It's a foul cult that promotes class wars and denial of free expression while dissembling about equality.

George Orwell observed about the Marxist pigs that while they claim they are fighting for equality, they want some animals to be more equal than others.

Marxism isn't just another political philosophy; it's the doppelgänger of fascism. It's an active promotion of brutal, power crazed totalitarianism. Its advocates should be exposed for promoting an ideology that is responsible for more deaths than the Third Reich.
