Bloodthirsty Islamists infested Toronto's Queen's Park

Bloodthirsty Islamist ghouls infested Toronto's Queen's Park Saturday afternoon.

They come every year for their al Quds Day rally, to call for the elimination of Israel. This year, the turnout was bolstered by the conflagration in Gaza caused by Hamas launching missiles at Israel, and their rage at the pesky Jews' refusal to die en masse. They also came to spew venom at Canada for not being supportive of their murderous aspirations.

They came bearing pictures of Ayatollah Khomeini, the depraved dictator of Iran who sanctioned the systematic rape of female political prisoners, and with the flags of terror groups like Hezbollah.

They were accompanied by a small handful of useful idiot radical leftists, and a few pathetic creatures from the bizarre, inbred, apocalyptic Jewish cult Neutrei Karta. But though they were there in numbers as many as five thousand, almost all of them were South Asian Shia Muslims and Arabs, devotees of the most vicious dictatorships on earth.

Screaming hate in heavily accented English, interspersed with Islamic prayer calls and shouts of "Alahu Akbar," they called for the destruction of Israel and claimed that the Jewish state had no right to self defense. They said that terrorism, including indiscriminate attacks on Israeli civilians, is "legitimate resistance." They were angry that Israelis would not submit to their desire to exterminate every Jew "from the river to the sea."  They railed about Zionist (read "Jewish") control of the media and they said it's that bias that lends itself to considering Hamas' attempts to murder Israeli women, children and anyone they can get at as 'terrorism.' They hate that the world seems to think it's fair for Israel to try to prevent the slaughter of its citizens, as these Khomeinists would like to see happen. They screamed at the pro-Israel protesters, "go back to Germany where they can kill you again!"  One useful idiot, a slovenly fool named Sid Lacombe, was infuriated by Israel "smugly saying they have the right to defend themselves."  Evidently his group of morons, the so-called "Canadian Peace Alliance," would like Israel not to defend itself from the thousands of rockets launched by Hamas against its civilians and see their blood run like rivers.

Canadian flags distinguished the pro-Israel side
The good news is that there were hundreds of counter-protesters out to stand up to this evil. The sides were kept apart by a line of police, but it only took one glance to distinguish them. The pro-Israel side joyously sang and danced, which Hamas and the Khomeinists punish by death in their native lands. More obvious was that the pro-Israel side carried as many Canadian flags as Israeli ones. Whereas there were none among the perpetually enraged Islamists who, though they take advantage of all that Canada has to offer, despise this country and will do nothing to celebrate it. They denounced the leaders of all of the major Canadian political parties for not sympathizing with their efforts to rain death upon Israel.

One of the anti-Israel protesters carried a sign saying "If you are not angry, you are clearly not paying attention."  Canadians should be angry. But what we should be angry about is not Israel defending itself from terrorism, but the terror-supporters we have allowed to come into Canada in droves.

Glorious Leader Kim Dong Wynne ready to overthrow democracy and impose Great Leap Forward in Toronto

Pick the Ontario politician who believes in democracy and the one who does not:

Ontario's Premier, who leads the province, not because she ever won a general election but because she was selected by delegates of the Liberal Party of Ontario, is prepared to "intervene if necessary" in Toronto's municipal affairs.

Embattled Mayor Rob Ford is the subject of unproven allegations of cocaine use by the Toronto Star.

Wynne, who lied about her government's corrupt use of public funds for political purposes related to gas plant cancellations, and is now accused of illegally trying to that cover up, should consider tendering her own resignation.

Toronto Mayor Rob Ford has said he is willing to put his leadership to the test by having an election.

Glorious Leader Wynne has capitulated to NDP demands in order to avoid facing Ontario's voters.

Between Ford and Wynne, which of the two actually has any democratic validity?

Will the NDP/Liberal cat fight end up as a sell-out of Ontario's taxpayers?

Ontario NDP leader Andrea Horwath is behaving like a deliciously sadistic political manipulator.

Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne is showing a palpable desperation to avoid an election in the wake of a Gas Plant cancellation scandal that cost Ontario taxpayers over half a billion dollars. The Having the Provincial NDP sign off on Wynne's budget is the only way the Liberals can hold on to power and Horvath seems to be reveling in that.

Taking full advantage of the Premier's weakness, Horvath is making Wynne contort and publicly prostrate herself, both committing to adopt just about every NDP demand in their budget and today offer a humiliating apology before the press corps. The latter stuck hard in Wynne's craw, in which she said she was sorry about a dozen times, but with typical Liberal insincerity, did not actually admit any culpability on behalf of her or her political party.

But Horwath has still not publicly committed to supporting the government in an upcoming vote, which if lost will result in a provincial election. The question now is whether after all that, Horwath pulls the rug out from under Wynne, leaving the Premier vulnerable and looking ridiculous, or will the NDP sell out Ontario's taxpayers fearing that an election may not do the 3rd party much good?

In either case, this has been an informative week about the character of Ontario's two most prominent political women.

Doug Ford declares intention to run for Progressive Conservatives in next provincial election

Councillor Doug Ford, Toronto Mayor Rob Ford’s slightly less controversial brother, has declared he plans to take his family’s unique brand of brash politics to Queen’s Park and will run for the Progressive Conservatives in the next election.

On a personal aside, I've dealt with Doug Ford's office on occasion and found him, like his brother, to be exceptionally conscientious and diligent in making sure that constituents needs are taken seriously. He'll make a needed contribution to Queen's Park politics.

Cupcake and Coren talk about when police act like fascists

The idiot cop who arrested and threatened Allan Eintoss was in dereliction of duty and acted like a stupid fascist. That disgrace with a badge should be disciplined and some among Toronto's police need to learn the the laws they are supposed to enforce.

Al Quds Day hate fest highlights multiculturalism`s failures

They came by the busloads from mosques in Brampton, the Islamic Society of York Region, and Toronto`s Thorncliife Park area to descend like a swarm of angry locust on the seat of Ontario`s government at Queen`s Park. Their speakers, with thick foreign accents and mangled syntax, spoke of how "the Canadian values" are not represented by our elected national government or supporters of the middle east`s only democratic country. Then, amid shouts of  "Allahu Akhbar!," groups of surly disciples of Iran's murderous dictator Ruhollah Khomeini, grubby men trailed by women shrouded from head to foot in chadors and niqabs,  paraded to the American consulate.

Khomeinists al Quds demonstration in Toronto - Aug 18
The reason for it all was the annual hate fest called al Quds Day, which Khomeini began in 1979 as a means of rallying Muslims to the cause of Israel's destruction. This confluence of anger and theocratic fanaticism was closely watched by the media after the hateful invective of last year's al Quds rally in Toronto became a media centerpiece. Learning from the past, this year the speakers were on their best behavior, though a couple of them did flounder into minor moments of anti-Semitism. But aware of the media attention, despite ambitions of imposing an Islamic caliphate upon us, for the most part they restrained their urge to invoke cries for Jihad and Islamic Sharia Law.

Though followers of Iran's despots, most of them were Shites of Pakistani origin. A few were Sunni sycophants of the Iranian regime, like the event's best known and most notorious speaker, the firebrand Muslim demagogue, York Region Islamic Center's Imam, Zafar Bangash.

Amid his denunciations of the "Zionist regime" and Canada's "right-wing, fascist media," on this occasion Bangash didn't extol his idols in Iran. But where he travels, the shadow of the Ayatollahs' dictates are never far away. Earlier this year, at a protest that attracted much less attention, Bangash revealed his absolute devotion to them, saying admiringly, "I consider the Islamic Republic of Iran to be the only Islamic state in the world today...I have met the leadership of the Islamic Republic of Iran and they represent the true values of Islam today. They make us proud of Islam!"
Bangash addresses crowd at Pakistani consulate
in April

Torture and murder of political opponents, deprivation of free speech, the systematic rape of female prisoners placed in jail for crimes such as "immodesty," the persecution of religious and ethnic minorities, Holocaust denial and the absence of democracy is what is imposed by Iran's leaders whom Bangash esteems so highly.

What should be alarming  is that Bangash, an acolyte of the world's leading sponsor and exporter of terrorism,  is considered an influential leader in the Canadian Muslim community. And more like him are arriving from Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia, Iran, Libya and other undemocratic bastions of barbaric medieval tribalism every day. Most come to escape the dysfunctional tyranny of their homelands. But too many come as evangelists of hatred and repression.

Rounding Queen's Park to shouts of Allahu Akbar!
And we're bending over backwards to accommodate their intolerance.

On Saturday's al Quds gathering in Toronto, a man walking his dog through the protest at Queen's Park was assaulted by police and threatened with arrest for offending Muslim sensibilities. It sounds too shocking to be believed, but fortunately, the incident was captured on video. Another man was threatened with arrest for inciting a riot. Not because he was urging anyone on to violence, or for disobeying police instructions, but for brandishing an Israeli flag near the Muslim demonstrators.

The idea behind the niqab is that a woman should be completely covered because the female form might entice a Muslim man to ravage her. Similarly, Toronto Police believed that the al Quds demonstrators were so incapable of recognizing other people's right to free expression and likely to become violent that to mollify them they violated the rights of law-abiding Canadian citizens .

Events like this shout out the failings of multiculturalism. Immigrants whose aspirations are not only to resist integration but to impose their oppressive theocratic ideologies on the rest of us are a threat to this nation's safety and security.

The Ministry of Immigration and Citizenship is currently conducting consultations on ways to improve our immigration system. If the al Quds hate fest is any indicator, the system doesn't need an improvement; it needs a complete overhaul.

The seeds of Khomeini's hate bud in Toronto - in pictures and words

That part of our brain that harks back to the earliest stages of evolution is sometimes prompted to an instinctive revulsion and alarm by a certain type of  heinous person we may encounter from time to time.

Saturday afternoon, Toronto's Queens Park was filled with them. The men, grubby, bearded, execrable and vicious, with their their truculent, subservient women shrouded in robes as dark as their pernicious hearts. While their loathsome spokesmen preached poison, they were there in the hundreds; depraved acolytes of Iran's deceased mass-murdering, sadistic dictator Khomeini.

Khomeini held high at Queen's Park on Saturday
Ruhollah Khomeini, Iran's absolute ruler from 1979 until his welcome death in 1989, was every bit the monster as Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, or Saddam Hussein. His murderous regime systematically raped female prisoners, many of them children, and tortured and murdered its political opponents and members of  religious and ethnic minorities. It was utterly repugnant to see admirers of that bloodthirsty totalitarian teeming like vermin on the green lawn  in the shadow of the Legislature. Many, if not most of them, are immigrants to our county. Their assembly was an insult to the democratic freedoms of Canada, which they ostensibly sought as refuge, but apparently surreptitiously invaded as an evangelizing vanguard of Islamism.

Puerile support for the Khomenists was delivered by a tiny, bedraggled collection of cretinous local Marxists from groups like the Ontario Coalition Against Poverty, the so-called Canadian Peace Alliance and a group of emotionally unbalanced Jews calling themselves Independent Jewish Voices. Like pathetic ideological catamites, they came to ingratiate themselves to the Ayatollah's apostles. Between them all, that syndicate of reprobates worked themselves into a pernicious frenzy before the seat of the provincial government with the sanctification of Ontario's Speaker of the Legislature and Sergeant-at-Arms.

Announcing "the media is owned by Zionists"
Knowing journalists were scrutinizing them, they were on their best behavior, but they could not refrain from at least one anti-Semitic trope when a speaker announced that the "media, which is owned by the Zionism and the Zionist lobbies."

"Zionism is terrorism," "Zionism is racism" "Down with Israel" were chanted from bullhorns and through face veils. But conscious that the eyes of the media were upon them,  most of the heavy lifting of invective and demonization was delegated to useful idiot Jews, so the Khomeinists could pretend their anger was only towards the "Zionists."

Neutrei Kartmen Eraserheads
They dangled two clownish-looking misfits from the bizarre Jewish sect Neutrei Karta at the front of their gathering. The duo, brought in from Montreal, said nothing to the assembly, but their appearance, that seemingly mimics Nazi-era propaganda caricature depictions of Jews, spoke volumes of the depths to which the Khomeinists will descend. Neutrei Karta is a close-knit Jewish cult, many of its members look like the product of generations of inbreeding. They believe that Israel is something that God has said will be denied to the Jews until the coming of the Messiah. Since The Jewish state exists and the Messiah has not arrived, they assume that Israel is some error of God that they must correct. The cult also apparently believes that God wants them to always dress like early 19th Century Eastern Europeans in the middle of winter, as evidenced by their being garbed in round beaver hats, stocking breeches and long, heavy black overcoats on a hot August Saturday afternoon.

Sandra Ruch
The Khomeinists also paraded the corpulent Jewish owner of the Sea Hitler Gaza boat, Sandra Ruch. No lightweight to begin with, she appeared to have recently gained about 50 pounds, undoubtedly to show solidarity with the starving people of Gaza who are currently suffering from a deprivation of Dom Perignon and bacon at their luxury hotels due to dietary restrictions imposed by the Islamist Hamas government. The Islamic proscription against liquor is almost certainly a cruel but remarkably successful Zionist plot to deprive  Muslims of pleasure and make them miserable.  Ruch rambled on in a hyper-emotional diatribe in which she sounded like one imagines Justin Trudeau would if he were overdosing on the drug Ecstasy.

The tedious Suzanne Weiss spoke as well. Weiss was born in France and escaped the Holocaust as a toddler and pretends to be an expert on subjects about which she knows very little. She behaves as if her experiences as a two-year old that she cannot remember somehow bestows moral authority on her fatuous analogies of Israel with Nazi Germany.

Ken Stone near the US consulate
But the most egregious insult to decency came in the form of a speech by Ken Stone of Independent Jewish Voices, a group of 9-11 conspiracy theorists and self-hating Jews. Stone's speech recalled the notorious ravings at last year's al Quds Day gathering by the hate monger Zafar Bangash. He spoke about wanting to eliminate the Jewish nature of Israel by overwhelming it with Muslims. This is an effort Stone has invested himself into before, being an organizer of this year's Global March To Jerusalem, a planned invasion of Israel by Palestinians and its supporters in which there were deaths and dozens of injuries.

He boasted about his organization's role in working with the United Church of Canada to achieve that denomination's recently passed resolution to boycott Israeli settlement products.

Yet while pretending to be a legitimate group of Jews who are still attached to their religion but opposed to Israeli policies, Stone's uncontrolled furor led him to make a stupid mistake. Screaming about the efforts to deny the al Quds Rally a permit to assemble at Queen's Park this year, he blamed "the Jewish Lobby." Stone forgot to use the code word "Zionist," thus betraying the dual realities that most Jews want nothing to do with the fringe lunatics of Independent Jewish Voices while the members of his organization harbor malice towards their less "progressive" co-religionists.

Sid Lacombe of the pro-Iran Canadian Peace Alliance was at the rally, railing against Stephen Harper, the US, Israel and making imbecilic allegations about western conspiracies to use "Islamophobia" as a justification for raping and pillaging in Muslim countries. But that sort of idiocy is to be expected from such people.

The real comic relief at this al Quds rally came from Zafar Bangash. He courageously challenged anyone, anyone who maligned his Khomeinist followers as hate mongers or anti-Semites or those who promote the idea that Islam is oppressive, to publicly debate him. Then he quickly added the caveat that exempted from his offer were members of what he called "right-wing, fascist media." By what Bangash would likely characterize with those terms, it pretty much means if that debate were to occur, it would be limited to being between him and The Toronto Star's pro-Islamist columnist Haroon Siddiqui.

More nefarious was the speech by a denizen of Canada's anti-Israel establishment, the consistently unkempt Ali Mallah. Mallah began with the chant generally interpreted as calling for the destruction of Israel as a Jewish State: "From the River (Jordan) to the (Mediterranean) Sea, Palestine will be free." Meaning, obviously, free of Jews.

Ali Mallah at Queen's Park
Mallah was introduced as a long time fighter for "social justice." But there is interesting evidence that shows that Mallah's idea of social justice is selective and hypocritical, particularly when Muslims are the perpetrators of injustice.

Previously, Mallah had been a Vice President of both the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) and the Canadian Arab Federation, the latter organization having lost its federal funding after Immigration and Citizenship Minister Jason Kenney identified it as anti-Semitic.

While a CUPE Vice President, Mallah was challenged by a member of his union, accusing him of silencing the discussion within the union about the Muslim genocide of black Africans by Arab Sudanese in Darfur.

Mallah's response, which can be seen on the CUPE website, was (his bolding, spelling and syntax errors included):
"...Now, withis the risk of giving any merit to your accusation, I inform you and all that at one meeting last year, We had a  a tense discussion about this issue and  It was the International Solidarity committee and later the executive of CUPE  district decision not to be dragged into a suspicios  calls by some organizations (that are well known of its biases and disregard to Human rights) to participate in demonstartions that based on Islamophobia and prejudices while shedding crocodile tears over Darfur, Sepecialy when it  is paving the way for another Imperialist project led By G.W. Bush, Condie and the rest of the gang. also, part of the debate was focused on the fact that there attempts to divide the  people of Sudan Sudanees as Arabs VS  Africans. I am sure you agree with the  fact,  that Sudan is an African Country and its people are Africans regardless of religion and  languages/ dialect."
So this individual, who has invested countless hours and untold energies into demonizing Israel for defending itself against terrorist groups, seems wiling to overlook a genocide of innocents, with hundreds of times more deaths than the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, as long as it's being perpetrated by Muslims. Mallah also felt compelled to include some anti-American conspiratorial nonsense in his ludicrous attempt to justify himself.

That, as much as anything, tells the story of our local Khomeinists' commitment to "social justice."

Iranians who escaped the Ayatollahs
Despite all the hype, the al Quds Day fiasco turned out to be a rather dull day. The Jewish Defense League turned out in large numbers to challenge the supporters of Iran's mullahs, but the most passionate were the small contingent of Iranian ex-patriots who escaped the murderous regime. Well aware of the diabolical acts of Iran's rulers and the hundreds of thousands of murders they are responsible for, their fury was palpable. And the Khomeinsts despised them even more than they resented  Jews, knowing that these honest, pro-democracy Iranians knew more than enough about them to discredit the lies of the Ayatollahs' servants.

It ended with a march from Queen's Park to the US consulate, a few blocks south on University Avenue. If the Khomeinists were hoping to win people to their cause, they will be disappointed to learn their march was counterproductive. Normal citizens walking along University Avenue who witnessed the throngs of women enveloped in burkahs and cahdors, the angry men shouting "Allahu Akbar!" and the flags of terrorist-run  Palestine and Iran, were as appalled as if some giant slime creature had crawled out from the sewer. Many commented about how revolting it was to see supporters of Iran, one of the most repressive regimes on earth,  parading through the city.

Ali Mallah promised that next year they would return to Queen's Park to demonstrate, whether they had a permit or not. Nothing that was said this year would technically qualify as hate speech, so there is no reason to deny them one in 2013. But the Khomeinists' opponents can take comfort in knowing that no one and nothing does a better job of discrediting them than they do themselves when they let average citizens see their repulsive nature out in the open.

Who and what is behind Toronto's Nazi/Khomeinist rally

The irony would be comedic if it wasn't draped in genocidal malice.

In Toronto, this Friday night and Saturday afternoon, two gatherings facilitated by followers of Iran's Holocaust-denying, totalitarian leaders will convene in a frenzy of hatred known as al Quds Day to remonstrate against the middle east's only genuine democracy.

The organizers of the upcoming assemblies are devout adherents to the branch of Shia Islam represented by the Iran's late Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini and his successor as that nation's absolute ruler, Ayatollah Ali Khameni.

Both Khomeini and Khameni led Iranian regimes in which female political prisoners, many of them children, were systematically raped by security forces. Their political opponents, as well as religious and ethnic minorities such as Baha'i and Kurds are routinely tortured and executed.  Iran's Council of Guardian-approved  President Ahmadinejad's ridiculous assertion that there are no homosexuals in Iran was probably an aspiration, as Gays are executed in that country for their sexual orientation. There is no free speech in Iran as the media is tightly-controlled and opposition newspapers can be shut down by the government at will.

At the end of the week, Canadian acolytes of that tyrannical autocracy will be denouncing Israel, a country that has free elections, universal enfranchisement for its citizens, equal rights for women free speech, respects Gay rights and rule of law, all features that are absent in Iran. Al Quds Day was first decreed by Khomeini in 1979 as an annual event for the purpose of rallying Muslim to destroy Israel. The spectacle of disciples of Iran's sadistic rulers denouncing Israel as "oppressive" will be as preposterous as if followers of North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un were denouncing Canada for its lack of democracy.

The offense of the travesty is not limited towards Jews. Iranian ex-patriots who fled the brutality of their homelands Mullahs are appalled at seeing the monstrous ideology they escaped manifest itself in the streets of the nation they fled to for asylum.

Toronto al Quds facebook page
The local Khomeinists involved with the Toronto al Quds Day reflect the poison exuded by Iran's leadership. A series of emails uncovered by the blogger BlazingCatFur in their online discussion group routinely feature Holocaust-denial and anti-Semitism.

Iluminating still is that a facebook page coordinating Toronto's Queen's Park Rally was created by Siraj Ali, an organizer of other local Shia rallies.

Rallies Mr. Ali was behind saw him cheering on as demented conspiracy theories were proclaimed, blaming internecine Muslim violence between Sunni and Shia in far-flung locals like Pakistan and Saudi Arabia on "Zionist" plots.

On Tuesday, The Canadian Race Relations Foundation expressed its "grave concerns" about the al Quds Day rally, saying "the framework for attacks against Israel and Zionists is replete with phrases found in similar Neo-Nazi and antisemitic attacks."

It is immaterial whether the al Quds Day Khomeinists actually believe their paranoid, depraved proclamations against Israel and Jews or if they are are consciously employing Nazi-like propaganda and scapegoating as a means of demagoguery. What needs to be understood is that there is a hateful, bigoted infection of totalitarianism in our midst, and if we do  not confront it, the problem will only grow.

This is what happens when you leave decisions to someone who looks like he stepped out of a Gilbert and Sullivan operetta

One of the more challenging responsibilities of the Ontario Legislature's Sergeant-at-Arms is having to decide which groups are allowed to hold rallies on the Legislature's grounds at Queen's Park. The current holder of the Sergeant-at-Arms position is Dennis Clark and his role is within the Civil Service and is supposed to be free of political interference.
Sergeant-At-Arms Clark

There are frequently demonstrations denouncing the ruling party of the day and if reflects well on us as a democratic society that such events are sanctioned at the seat of government. But decisions about such maters would be substantially more credible if they weren't being made by someone whose official costume made him look like a cross between a baritone about to start singing, "I am the monarch of the sea" and Mr. Bumble from Oliver Twist.

There are limits to what would be considered acceptable discourse that deserves the imprimatur of the Legislature's acquiescence. A racist group calling for the extermination of a nation would not normally be afforded that privilege, nor would one that openly displays support for terrorist organizations that are illegal in Canada.

An Al Quds Day rally to be held at Queens Park next Saturday at 2 pm seems destined to fall into those latter categories.

Mr Clark is in the unenviable position of having to predict, like in the movie Minority Report, crimes that might be committed in the future before denying an application for a rally. "Very seldom do we deny something unless they came in and they told us that what they were going to do was unlawful"  Clark told The Toronto Sun.

Iran's sadistic dictator from 1979-89
But a magical psychic gift isn't really necessary to know what will happen at the Al Quds Day rally nest week.Mr. Clark may have neglected to perform the rudimentary research into the nature of Al Quds Day that shows its hateful, violent nature and origins.

The event was created by Iran's despotic Supreme Leader, the Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini. A bloodthirsty degenerate, Khomeini led a regime known for systematically raping women for the supposed crime of 'immodesty' as well as the routine torture and murder of political opponents.

Khomeini designated the last day of the Muslim month-long festival of Ramadan at Al Quds Day, to promote the Islamic world to rise up and destroy the state of Israel. Regrettably, Khomeini has acolytes in Canada, such as the hate-monger Zafar Bangash of the York region Islamic Society and the Canadian Shia Muslim Organization, which were the forces behind last year's Queen's Park Al Quds Day rally.

At the 2011 gathering, Zafar Bangash called for a Jihad against Israel and in an apoplectic fit, made a racist reference to US President Barack Obama as "that black man in the White House." Flags of  Iranian-backed Hezbollah, designated an terrorist group by the Canadian government, flew prominently at last year's al Quds hate fest at Queen's Park. What made matters substantially worse was that a representative of Mr. Clark's Legislative Security force abused her authority by trying to deny the legal right of a blogger to photograph women holding the Hezbollah flags because it would offend "Muslim sensibilities."

The Jewish Defense League will be at Queen's Park on Saturday to hold a counter-protest against the Khomeinist fanatics.  If the powers that be are too afraid of offending a hate group's sensibilities to stand up to them, it is refreshing that there are free citizens who believe in Canadian values and don't share those fears.

Shia group CASMO makes racist, hate-filled speeches at Queen's Park as croud chants "Allah akbar!"

Blogger Blazing Cat Fur chronicled the CASMO-organized al-Quds Day rally at Queen's Park on Sunday, August 28.

Speakers spewed hate-filled, racist invective.

Mayor Rob Ford and Councillors Doug Ford and James Pasternak attempted to prevent CASMO from using city property, but were stymied by the City Manager. Questions remain about how and why the City Manager reached the decision to allow a hate group to use city facilities while denying other city facilities to a peaceful, legal gathering the very same day.

Ontario Public Service Employee attempts to deprive journalist of basic rights at Queens Park to defer to hate group supporters

Ontarians who were under the impression that they live in a free society where they can use cameras in public places may be surprised to learn they are not free from harassment by agents of the Province.

Well-known Canadian political blogger Blazing Cat Fur was at Queen's Park Sunday afternoon to record the al Quds Day rally held by CASMO,  a Khomeinist hate group that has posted anti-Israel videos to its website by the neo-Nazi former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke.

A Queen's Park Security Guard, an employee of the Provincial civil service, attempted to get BCF to stop filming since it was "offensive" to the Khomeini-worshipping women who had gathered to denounce and vilify Israel in front of the provincial legislature while waving the flag of a banned terrorist organization.

The Province appears to have omitted to provide basic training in civil rights to its security personnel. A Toronto Police constable finally told the guard that BCF had the right to film a public demonstration on public property - something that would be obvious to any high school civics student, but evidently not to someone entrusted with keeping the peace at the seat of Ontario's government.

CASMO came under fire earlier in the week when Mayor Rob Ford and a number of Councillors, including Doug Ford and James Pasternak, attempted to have the City revoke the Shia Muslim group's permission to hold an al Quds Day seminar and dinner at a city owned facility. City politicians were concerned that CASMO and al Quds Day, an event created by the late Ayatollah Khomeini for the purpose of demonizing Israel, had deeply anti-Semitic overtones and their use of the Scarborough Centennial Centre was a violation of the city's anti-discrimination policy.

The Mayor and Councillors' wishes were overruled by the City Manager, but it came to light that the decision to allow CASMO to use the facility was influenced by a City department head who had written an editorial in favour of the Canadian Arab Federation, which was defunded by the federal government amid allegations of it being anti-Semitic and expressing support for terrorism. This same department head also advocated for use of Sharia Law in Ontario's Family Courts and co-authored a paper with a U of T Professor who stirred up a recent controversy by facilitating anti-Semitism in her class.

It seems the Fords' and Pasternak's concerns about CASMO were well founded. Speakers at CASMO's Sunday afternoon rally at Queen's Park made pronouncements like, "..the Zionist regime that sucks the resources, the blood, and everything that belongs to the people all across the world..and they use it for themselves" while their supporters waved the flag of Hezbollah,  an anti-Semitic terrorist organization. The bigotry was abundant at the event as another speaker at CASMO's hate fest, the Islamic Society of York Region's Zafar Bangash,  referred to President Obama as "that black man in the White House."

At CASMO's Friday evening gathering, the City took unprecedented action in sending a supervisor to monitor what was said. That supervisor's report is not yet publicly available, but this entire episode highlights shortcomings in the decision-making process by the City's bureaucracy and the need to examine it in depth.

UPDATE:  A cruel irony is that the hate-group CASMO was allowed to use city property to spew its bile, but a peaceful, friendly group that wishes ill-will to no one was banned from using City property the same day.

Pro and anti Assad demonstrators face off at Queen's Park

Blazing Cat Fur: A tale of two demonstrations: Bashar Assad the most loved and hated dictator in Toronto

Check out the link above. In Blazing Cat Fur's video he records a classic, Monty Pythonesque line from one of the leaders of the pro-Assad group:  "We are people who are into foward thinking, our President Bashar is doing that for us."

Afrofest Pictures

After the inane, sanctimonious preaching of political struggle at Saturday's protest on the south lawn of Queen's Park, it was a welcome relief to enjoy Afrofest on the north side.

Just great music, delicious food, talk about feeling good and people having a wonderful afternoon.

Scintillating drumming

Groovy Outfits on stage and off

If you felt like signing up for the cause, uniforms were available in a variety of styles:
