Victor Davis Hanson: The Clintons as Farce

...no one thought discredited deviant Anthony Weiner could much harm Hillary—except of course “conspiratorial” Donald Trump. He warned months ago that Clinton aide Huma Abedin might have been passing on classified materials to her dissolute husband. Because Weiner couldn’t repress his electronic libido with young girls, he ended up on the FBI’s radar—and by extension his smartphones, tablets, computers, and by further extension supposedly his estranged wife’s confidential communications. It was thought that Weiner might have stopped his sexting addiction when he lost his House seat, when he lost his mayor’s race, when he lost his wife, when he lost his jobs—or, at the very least, before he might lose Hillary (who supposedly fixed Abedin up with Weiner) her election.

Hillary’s team dared Comey to put up incriminating e-mails or shut up about investigating Hillary, hoping that the Obama Justice Department might quash any request for court-ordered warrants. But that demand assumed that Weiner is a loyal Clintonista and will put his fealty to Hillary and the Democrats above his own fear of federal prison and its supposed cultural intolerance for supposed predators. For now, the Clinton attack on the FBI might be not only futile but stupid—antagonizing her inquisitor, without the ability to apply pressure to silence him—if Weiner voluntarily surrenders his warrant-less communications to obtain some sort of deal.

Should we laugh or cry when Barack Obama’s Department of Justice warns about mixing politics with the Weiner investigation, after Attorney General Loretta Lynch had stealthily met on the tarmac with Bill Clinton while her office was supposedly investigating his spouse? Normally the nation’s lesser federal prosecutors don’t have chats about grandchildren on airport runways with the husbands of suspects under investigation. Should we weep or smile when Hillary and John Podesta decry a federal official’s 11th-hour disclosure of possible criminality—this from a party that rejoiced over Special Prosecutor Lawrence Walsh’s indictment (later dismissed) of George H.W. Bush cabinet official Caspar Weinberger a week before the 1992 election, won by Bill Clinton. As far as last-minute election surprises go, Democrats themselves have turned it into an art form. In 2000, it was the leaked George W. Bush DUI arrest; in 2004, it was the “fake but accurate” forged National Guard Memos...

Rex Murphy: Jordan Peterson — a real professor, at last

By now most of the country is familiar with the story of one professor, Jordan Peterson, at the University of Toronto, who has expressed strong and vivid dissent over the university’s attempt to force him to use certain words — ersatz pronouns, a batch of neologisms (ze, zim, zer, and a raft of others, in place of he or she) coined by progressive groups, intended to apply to students who “self-identify” as other than the archaic and obsolete designations of man and woman.

Prof. Peterson will not use these new cant words. He will not be ordered by the university, or pressured by activists, to take their words and put them in his mouth. He goes further and insists that it is an abandonment of academic freedom, and freedom of speech more generally, for the university or others to insist or attempt to mandate such a practice. He has made three videos arguing his case. He points out the ideological forces, the “political agenda” behind “language politics,” and correctly argues and identifies that there is far more at stake in this instance than some local gripe about grammatical commonplaces on a single campus.

As a consequence, Peterson received from his university two letters of reprimand and warning, one of which I would like to deal with in some detail, for it is a most miserable document, in content, tone and misdirection. And, coming from a university, it is also simultaneously shameless and utterly shame-worthy. The letters are easily available online for your reference. There is much to object to, but let me concentrate just on the following passage.

As a result of Peterson’s speaking on these matters, “Some students have been the target of specific and violent threats, including threats of assault, injury and death against them individually and as members of the trans community. We trust these that these impacts on students and others were not your intention in making (the controversial remarks). However, in view of these impacts, as well as the requirements of the Ontario Human Rights Code, we urge you to stop making these remarks.”...

Does America want a President to take office while under FBI investigation? Weiner laptop may contain thousands of messages sent to or from Clinton private server

Federal agents are preparing to scour roughly 650,000 emails contained on the laptop of former Rep. Anthony Weiner to see how many relate to a prior probe of Hillary Clinton’s email use, as metadata on the device suggests there may be thousands sent to or from the private server that the Democratic nominee used while she was secretary of state, according to people familiar with the matter.

The review will take weeks at a minimum to determine whether those messages are work-related emails between Huma Abedin, a close Clinton aide and the estranged wife of Mr. Weiner, and State Department officials; how many are duplicates of emails already reviewed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation; and whether they include either classified information or important new evidence in the Clinton email probe, which FBI officials call “Midyear.”

The FBI has had to await a court order to begin reviewing the emails, because they were uncovered in an unrelated probe of Mr. Weiner, and that order was delayed for reasons that remain unclear.

Meanwhile, FBI Director James Comey’s surprise disclosure Friday, less than two weeks before the election, that investigators were pursuing the potential new evidence lays bare tensions that have built for months inside the bureau and the Justice Department over how to investigate someone who could soon be elected president.

The continuing work means that if Mrs. Clinton wins the White House, she will likely do so amid at least one ongoing investigation into her inner circle being handled by law-enforcement officials who are deeply divided over how to manage such cases...

Idiot PC "Social Justice" leftists complain that calling them "insane" demeans people with mental illness

An honest-to-God real letter written by idiot "Social Justice" Wanker academics, members of the Liberal Studies Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Working Group at NYU, in response to criticisms of PC culture at that institution by one of their peers named Michael Rectenwald.

They complain that calling them "insane" gives a bad name to crazy people. In that, they are unwittingly more correct than they could possibly realize.

You can't make this kind of shit up:

...He seeks to discredit many of us who are committed to social justice by calling us insane and suggesting that some of our concerns are crazy. “My contention,” he says, “is that this particular social-justice-warrior-left is producing the alt-right by virtue of its insanity. … Frankly, I’m not really anti-pc. My contention is that trigger warning, safe spaces and bias hotline reporting is not politically correct. It is insane.”

“Identity politics on campus,” he goes on to say, “have made an infirmary of the whole, damn campus. Let’s face it: every room is like a hospital ward. What are we supposed to do? I can’t deal with it—it’s insane.” And later still: “the crazier and crazier that this left gets, this version of the left, the more the more the alt-right is going to be laughing their asses off plus getting more pissed.” Professor Rectenwald’s rhetoric repeatedly suggests that mental illness invalidates the ideas and feelings of those who live with it. We categorically reject such rhetoric and its stigmatizing effects...
Update: The politically correct fascist lunatics at NYU have driven out Michael Rectenwald

The Terror of Halloween - when Social Justice Wankers get traumatized by scary "cultural appropriation"

Halloween, that time of year when kids dress up in a variety of scary and strange costumes and get free candy, and adults dress up in a variety of goofy ways, is just about upon us.

Now imagine for a moment what would happen if a bunch of guys in western gear from Oklahoma raised a ruckus about how upset and offended they were because people in Japan were going to dress up as cowboys for Halloween. We'd think the Oklahomans were insane.

But flip it around, and if some American women dress as Geisha for Halloween, you know that "Social Justice" Wankers, those self-appointed guardians of all that is permissible, will have apoplectic fits about the horrors of so-called "cultural appropriation."

The thing that the raging Social Justice Wankers don't understand is that all of human history and human development is what they refer to as cultural appropriation.

It's more than just spaghetti being noodles that Marco Polo "culturally appropriated" from China. The examples also run beyond current near-global concepts of morality, philosophy, and democracy having originated from the Hebrews of the Levantine Basin and ancient Greeks respectively, then combining to form the basis of modern civilization.

Clothing, technology, entertainment, food - most parts of everything affecting people's lives comes from a culture other than the one that they currently practice.

Generally that's considered a good thing. It's the basis of human advancement, for us to learn from each other and to adapt, sometimes copy, and sometimes just play around with aspects of different societies' constructs.

But somehow, thanks to the fanatical, cultural Marxist ideologues who have wreaked intellectual devastation, first on western university campuses and now on society as a whole, in the last decade, one group of people, western, European-based liberal democracies, are prohibited from doing something that has been part of human experience for thousands of years. So you better hide your Speedy Gonzalez sombrero or Sheik of Araby robes, lest some Social Justice Wanker have a tantrum about it.

Part of the issue is that Social Justice wankers define themselves by their activism. It is their primary form of self-identification. But with all the major genuine social justice battles, such as women's rights, civil rights, the battle against real racism, and gay rights being mostly won, a problem now exists for perennial activists. With their entire identity wrapped up in activism, it means they have to continually scour for some new, decreasingly significant outrage about which to become "active."

Left with so few real moral fights to wage, instead they are relegated to expressing themselves though public psychotic episodes about their hurt feelings. So we're treated to scenes like that deranged girl at Yale last year who went mental because Halloween costumes made feel "unsafe," or that hideous transsexual ghoul at The University of Toronto's free speech rally who assaulted a woman because it didn't feel its pronoun choices were given proper respect.

Things have become so absurd that some want to be able to dictate what pronouns you use through the threat that failing to do so will cause an "epidemic" of suicides. The grim reality is that if  a misused pronoun can do you in, then evolution has probably already decided that you're too fragile to survive for long anyway. Yet the radical left's self-described "intelligentsia" haven't been able to figure that one out.

Academia, particularly in what now describes itself as "Social Justice Education" is pretty much completely filled with morons. Actual morons.  I'm not saying that (only) to be insulting and derisive. It's a literal statement of fact. These are people with devalued degrees who are too brainwashed and too stupid to challenge accepted dogma in their lame-assed fields of study to be able to understand the obvious.

Consequentially, we see insecurities ushered along in those areas of extremist, vacuous academia, such as Gender Studies and Social Justice Education. Thanks to an idiotic University culture, fostered by dense ideologues in various branches of Canada's government bureaucracies, we live in a society where victimhood is now considered the pinnacle of prestige. So naturally we have activists striving to invent new categories of victims into which they can either lay claim to being oppressed, or signal their imagined virtue through advocacy and abasing everyone else for insensitivity to a heretofore unknown condition.

But it's more insidious than that. Much more. It's about cultural Marxists intent on dictating what you can and cannot say, and creating an environment where only what they deem acceptable is permissible.

They are practicing a form of tribal racism and totalitarianism by which they want to dictate that only particular members of one tribe can wear certain clothes and you cannot. Only those words that they say are acceptable can come out of your mouth and you can be punished if you don't use the words of their choosing.

However, there is a way to fight back against the disgusting tribalism of Social Justice Wankers: ignore them. Or better still, when they confront you, tell them that you think their opinions are worthless, because the only race that matters is the human race. You have the right to do that, for now at least.

There may be some signs that the rest of society has finally had enough of Social Justice Wankers and people are beginning to realize how dangerous they are to the health of civilization. The fact that Donald Trump's strikingly politically incorrect presidential campaign might be successful is one such sign.

The threat of a Trump presidency might seem to some an extreme reaction. But it's the extremism of the Social Justice Wankers who brought that reaction along.

Professor who’s predicted 30 years of presidential elections correctly is doubling down on a Trump win

Last month, the man who's tried to turn vote prediction into a science predicted a Trump win.
Allan J. Lichtman, distinguished professor of history at American University, said Democrats would not be able to hold on to the White House.

In the intervening weeks, the campaign was rocked by a series of events.

The release of the Access Hollywood tape obtained by The Washington Post was followed by accusations from a growing list of women of various improprieties on Trump's part, ranging from verbal abuse and harassment to outright sexual assault. Fix founder Chris Cillizza named Trump the winner of the inauspicious “Worst Week in Washington” award for four weeks running.

At the same time, WikiLeaks released internal Clinton campaign emails, and the U.S. government [i.e. Obama's White House, which has made a partisan commitment to Clinton] flatly accused the Kremlin of being involved. And let's not forget those presidential debates.

So plenty has changed. But one thing hasn't: Lichtman, author of “Predicting the Next President: The Keys to the White House 2016,” is sticking with his prediction of a Trump victory...

HillBullies and Clinton fascists assault homeless pro-Trump woman on Hollywood Boulevard

A black homeless woman guarding Donald Trump’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star was the victim of violent harassment by an anti-Trump crowd. Videos of the abuse show people yelling at the woman and knocking her to the ground as the insults continue.

Some of the banners included provocative language, including one targeting the US president, reading, “Obama threw our black asses under the bus, he owes the Clintons, flip this script (get off the Clinton plantation).”

A number of videos titled ‘Crazy 4 Trump’ posted on YouTube show a crowd of people surrounding the woman as she holds up banners in support for the Republican presidential nominee. Her hand-written signs promote pro-Trump messages like “Twenty million illegals and Americans sleep on the streets in tents” and “Donald Trump - keeping it real”.

A crowd on Hollywood Boulevard, not a hotspot for Trump supporters, did not share the woman’s political preferences. Nor did they choose to let her be...

Huma Abedin Swore Under Oath She Gave Up ‘All the Devices’ With State Dept. Emails

...Huma Abedin is not simply a close aide, she’s a critical member of Hillary Clinton’s tiny inner circle that protects and  at times  enables the deeply flawed and secretive Democratic nominee.

So despite FBI Director James Comey’s announcement that the bureau is reviewing emails from Abedin’s time at the State Department reportedly found on a laptop she shared with her soon-to-be ex-husband Anthony Weiner (confiscated as a part of the FBI’s investigation into allegations he sexted with a 15-year-old North Carolina girl), the campaign made clear on Saturday that she’s not going anywhere.

John Podesta, the chairman of the Clinton campaign, told reporters on a conference call that Abedin had been nothing but cooperative with investigators and sat for hours of depositions last summer as part of the civil lawsuit filed by Judicial Watch.

"There's nothing that she's done that we think calls into question anything that she's done with respect to this investigation… we fully stand behind her," Podesta said.

But the new information that the FBI found State Department-related email on her home laptop also calls into question whether Abedin in fact turned over all of the devices she used to send and receive email while working at State.

On June 28, 2016, Abedin said under oath in a sworn deposition that she looked for all devices that she thought contained government work on them so the records could be given to the State Department...

FBI discovers new Hillary emails while investigating Wiener sex texts to 15-year old girl

WASHINGTON — Federal law enforcement officials said Friday that the new emails uncovered in the closed investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server were discovered after the FBI seized electronic devices belonging to Huma Abedin, a top aide to Mrs. Clinton, and her husband, Anthony Weiner.

The FBI is investigating illicit text messages that Mr. Weiner sent to a 15-year-old girl in North Carolina. The bureau told Congress on Friday that it had uncovered new emails related to the Clinton case — one federal official said they numbered in the thousands — potentially reigniting an issue that has weighed on the presidential campaign and offering a lifeline to Donald J. Trump less than two weeks before the election.

In a letter to Congress, the FBI director, James B. Comey, said that emails had surfaced in an unrelated case, and that they “appear to be pertinent to the investigation.”

Mr. Comey said the FBI was taking steps to “determine whether they contain classified information, as well as to assess their importance to our investigation.” ...

And now, for a feel-good story to cheer you up...

Drunk student crashes into cop car while taking topless selfie

A 19-year-old Texas A&M University student taking a topless selfie while driving slammed into the rear of a stopped police car and was arrested, police said on Thursday.

The student, Miranda Rader, also had an open bottle of wine in a cup holder next to her, the Bryan Police Department said.

The accident on Wednesday, near the university about 100 miles northwest of Houston, caused the airbag to deploy. Police said that when the officer whose car had been hit approached Rader, she was trying to put on her blouse.

“I asked her why she was not dressed while driving and she stated she was taking a Snapchat photo to send to her boyfriend while she was at a red light,” the arresting officer wrote in an affidavit...

Wall Street Journal Editorial: Why isn’t the IRS investigating the Clinton Foundation?

...The Band memo reveals exactly what critics of the Clintons have long said: They make little distinction between the private and public aspects of their lives, between the pursuit of personal enrichment, the operation of a nonprofit, and participation in U.S. politics.

Mr. Band writes that he and his colleague Justin Cooper “have, for the past ten years, served as the primary contact and point of management for President Clinton’s activities—which span from political activity (e.g., campaigning on behalf of candidates for elected office), to business activity (e.g., providing advisory services to business entities with which he has a consulting arrangement), to Foundation activity.”

This excerpt and all the potential conflicts it describes, plus Chelsea’s warning about business “hustling” at foundation events, would seem more than ample cause to trigger an IRS audit of the foundation. For that matter, why aren’t the IRS and prosecutors already on the case? Any normal foundation has to keep records to show it is separating its nonprofit activity from any for-profit business...

If you want to understand Political Correctness, then you need to watch this video

This discussion of the nature and motives of left vs right wing authoritarianism is one of the most concise explanations of the nature of political correctness you're ever likely to see.

It's detailed by Jordan Peterson and one of his grad students, Christine Brophy, and it shows that despite its frequent bombast and hyperbole, The Rebel sometimes makes important contributions to public debate, discourse and knowledge.

Matthew Lau: How conservatives who backed carbon taxes got duped

...In reality, much opposition to a carbon tax is not based on ignorance or denial, but primarily on the belief that the potential for catastrophic government failure is far larger than the potential for catastrophic market failure. Or, put another way, the certainty that whatever damage comes from climate change will be less than that caused by the screw-ups politicians will make in their attempts to manage the issue.

Michael Munger, a political scientist at Duke University, has a simple test for those who want a more activist government: “Go ahead, make your argument for what you want the State to do, and what you want the State to be in charge of. Then, go back and look at your statement. Everywhere you said ‘the State,’ delete that phrase and replace it with ‘politicians I actually know, running in electoral systems with voters and interest groups that actually exist.’” Indeed, a critical mistake made by many carbon-tax advocates is an excessive faith in politicians. Economists might be excused for this, but it is harder to let conservative carbon-tax activists off the hook for this error.

When these conservatives demanded 1) carbon taxes; 2) a rollback of regulations; and 3) offsetting tax cuts to keep the policy revenue-neutral, did they not expect that most politicians would take their first suggestion and ignore the other two? By clamouring for pricing emissions, in many cases more loudly than they advocated removing inefficient regulations and lowering taxes, they gave tax-happy politicians the political cover needed to impose a carbon tax...

The Bully Party

From Scott Adams' blog:

...Team Clinton has succeeded in perpetuating one of the greatest evils I have seen in my lifetime. Her side has branded Trump supporters (40%+ of voters) as Nazis, sexists, homophobes, racists, and a few other fighting words. Their argument is built on confirmation bias and persuasion. But facts don’t matter because facts never matter in politics. What matters is that Clinton’s framing of Trump provides moral cover for any bullying behavior online or in person. No one can be a bad person for opposing Hitler, right?
Some Trump supporters online have suggested that people who intend to vote for Trump should wear their Trump hats on election day. That is a dangerous idea, and I strongly discourage it. There would be riots in the streets because we already know the bullies would attack. But on election day, inviting those attacks is an extra-dangerous idea. Violence is bad on any day, but on election day, Republicans are far more likely to unholster in an effort to protect their voting rights. Things will get wet fast.
Yes, yes, I realize Trump supporters say bad things about Clinton supporters too. I don’t defend the bad apples on either side. I’ll just point out that Trump’s message is about uniting all Americans under one flag. The Clinton message is that some Americans are good people and the other 40% are some form of deplorables, deserving of shame, vandalism, punishing taxation, and violence. She has literally turned Americans on each other. It is hard for me to imagine a worse thing for a presidential candidate to do.
I’ll say that again.
As far as I can tell, the worst thing a presidential candidate can do is turn Americans against each other. Clinton is doing that, intentionally.

The University of Toronto's hypocritical, selective interest in Academic Freedom and Free Speech

Yesterday, the University of Toronto acceded to a request from Psychology Professor Jordan Peterson to have a public debate about Canada's Bill C-16.  Among Peterson's concerns about that piece of legislation is the fact that it's worded so it could be utilized to turn the use of a pronoun, if a transsexual to whom it was addressed didn't feel it was appropriate, into a crime. (Yes, Canada has legislators who are that preposterous.)

The request was a victory, but a hard-earned one by Peterson and his supporters, and it came about not because of a commitment to academic freedom or free speech by the University. It was quite the opposite. The University capitulated to intense public and media criticism after they first attempted to deprive Peterson of his free speech rights and academic freedom.

This episode reiterates the hypocritical, selective approach the University of Toronto takes to these critical benchmarks of an intellectual climate, and respect for the rights of individuals and groups, or lack of such, it affords to its students and instructors.

Peterson has been at the center of a maelstrom of controversy after recently making YouTube videos in which he proclaimed he would refuse to use pronouns he thought were ideologically driven perversions of language-usage. Singled out were those people who demanded to be addressed as "they" or some made-up pronoun because they deemed themselves "gender non-binary persons."

It is critical to the understanding of this issue to recognize that while transsexual issues have become very prominent in the media in the last year, as a percentage of the population, they are exceptionally rare. Within that minuscule sector of the populace, those who identify as "gender-non-binary" are rarer still. Most transsexuals identify as either male or female and prefer the use of "he" or "she."

It's also important to note that other than in the extraordinarily rare case of hermaphrodites, there is no biological evidence that gender non-binary people exist outside of their own belief. It is a psychological or psychiatric condition rather than a biological sex.

But we now live in times where radical activists and their ideologies drive legislation and will aggressively, sometimes violently stomp on the rights of anyone who disagrees with them.

In this case, the first response of the University of Toronto's administration came in the form of two threatening letters from senior administrators to Peterson, in which they urged his silence about and compliance with policies he found morally deplorable.

It was only after a public outcry and scathing media criticism that the University switched directions and acquiesced to Peterson's request to have a public debate on the issue.

The attempted suppression of Peterson, who did nothing but assert his own rights to use language within the normal confines of English usage and biological realities, contrasts sharply with University of Toronto's responses to instances where its institutions and professors were engaged in hateful, discriminatory practises. In previous instances, the University vigorously defended the academic freedom of those engaged in overt hatred and discrimination. But the difference is that in those cases, the University of Toronto defended the right to direct hatred towards Jews.

In 2010, a major controversy arouse out of a thesis promoting ethnic bigotry that was the basis of a Master's Degree awarded at U of T's Ontario Institute for Studies in Education(OISE). The thesis, by a Jenny Peto (who has since metamorphosed into "Ben" Peto)  asserted that Holocaust education programs were part of a Zionist conspiracy to promote Israeli interests and further Jewish "whiteness." Its demented conclusions resembled a modern re-working of the notorious Protocols of the Elders of Zion, and its laughably shoddy scholarship was based in large part on the author perusing a pair of websites. It was condemned across party lines in the Ontario legislature, including by Liberal Cabinet Minister Dr. Eric Hoskins, and it brought the academic standards of the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education into disrepute, turning it into a laughingstock.

But rather than the threats and attempts at stifling that Jordan Peterson received for his exercising basic rights, U of T defended the awarding of a Master's Degree for antisemitic tripe. In that instance, the U of Toronto did not investigate the hatred and bigotry promoted at OISE and the bullying of students who don't submit to orthodoxy of accepted radical notions of anti-western so-called "social justice." Instead, U of T doubled down by making an anti-Israel, Marxist crackpot who was a featured speaker at an "al Quds Day" antisemitc jamboree as OISE's new head of "Social Justice education."

Was that a one-off at the University of Toronto? No, it was not.

At around the same time that Peto was writing her deranged tome, an Assistant Professor at U of T's school of Social Work by the name of Rupaleem Bhuyan, it was discovered, took institutional antisemitism to a new level. She fostered a classroom discussion where students complained of "rich Jews," and even participated in a "Jew count" of faculty. A student complained about the professor's racism and Bhuyan was confronted by the school's Director of PhD Programs about it, During that confrontation, Bhuyan protested, according to Professor Adrienne Chambon, that, "‘racialized’ students come from underprivileged backgrounds and were justified in not wanting to be around old Jews because they are rich and would make them uneasy. " According to Chambon, Bhyuan also asserted that donor plaques at the university were all from rich Jews, which she felt proved her point.

Did the University do anything to remove that bigoted, nontenured instructor out of its teaching environment? No. It did the opposite and awarded her a tenured Associate Professor's position while effectively ostracizing and driving out the Director of PhD Programs, Professor Chambon and Professor Ernie Lightman, who first brought the issue to the administration's attention.

From these and Peterson's plight, we can learn two important things about the University of Toronto. One is that if you want basic rights there, you have to stand up for them, often in the face of vigorous institutional opposition. The other is that it's most likely to only defend your rights if it thinks you're a "politically correct" victim, and in those cases, the victimhood need be only in your head.

UPDATE (Nov 6/16): It will come as no surprise that the University of Toronto has put severe free speech limits on the free speech debate it agreed to hold at Jordan Peterson's request. Despite the compromise it entails, Prof. Peterson intends to participate nonetheless, because of the critical importance of ensuring the public can examine some of the issues involved in the curtailing of free speech by legislation and within academic culture.

Clinton supporter paid off $467,500 to wife of FBI Deputy Director in charge of email probe who later decided not to indict Hillary

Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe has long been a supporter of the Clintons and, as such, is being called into question over his financial involvement in a recent state Senatorial election.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Mr. McAuliffe has been linked to hundreds of thousands of dollars given to the campaign of Dr. Jill McCabe, wife of FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe.

Besieged Professor Jordan Peterson Responds To The University of Toronto's Orwellian Effort To Strip Him Of His Free Speech Rights

Jordan Peterson is the University of Toronto Psychology Professor being persecuted by the institution he works for because of his declared refusal to kowtow to a politically correct mandate to use "non-binary" gender-neutral pronouns he feels are inappropriate.

In a demonstration of classic Orwellian doublespeak, the University of Toronto's administration has sent Peterson two warning letters in which they proclaim their commitment to free speech while simultaneously trying to deprive him of his rights to free speech and academic freedom.

The onslaught against Peterson is something about which every Canadian should be very worried. We have so-called Human Rights Commissions which are now moving past trying to police what can be said into forcing people into saying things they don't want to say.

Pretty soon, it'll be illegal to say that two plus two equals four because it offends non-binary people when you don't say it's five.

Peterson has just published a video with his defiant response to the University's tyrannical demands.

At THIS LINK is a petition where you can express your support for Jordan Peterson's academic freedom, and more importantly, his human right to free speech.

UPDATE: The University of Toronto has actually accepted Peterson's proposal for a public debate. This is a good development, but make no mistake about why it happened and what it means. The University of Toronto's first instinct and first actions were attempts to stifle Peterson, and deprive him of his rights to free speech and academic freedom. They were only to happy to take their marching orders from extremist, Marxist and racist groups like the "Black Liberation Collective."

It was only after massive public attention and pressure was applied to the University of Toronto, pointing out that they were violating their own mandate with their treatment of Peterson that they acceded to his request for a debate. But the issue of free speech and the tyranny of political correctness, both at the Canadian universities and by Canada's government bureaucracy is very far from being settled.

If anything, this is a critical lesson on speaking out and standing up for free speech as it undergoes an ongoing assault.:

Is the Liberal Minister trying to screw with Canada's electoral process an Iranian mole?

Liberal MP Maryam Monsef tried to move back to Afghanistan in 2014. Instead she visited Iran where she was encouraged to run for office here in Canada.

This is according to a French-language profile in Le Devoir written well before it was revealed Monsef was born in Iran, not Afghanistan as she claims she’s always believed.

In the story, Monsef says she couldn’t enter Afghanistan because “it was not safe”. Then once in Iran, she says, she worked with Afghan refugees and was “encouraged to enter politics” in Canada.

This visit to Iran – a country with incredibly strict entry and exit rules - raises serious red flags, according to immigration experts and some in the Iranian community.

In 2012, the Harper government severed diplomatic ties with Iran and closed the Iranian embassy in Ottawa. Due to this, travel between Canada and Iran became increasingly difficult.

In 2014, the Iranian regime made it even more difficult for Canadians who do not have status in Iran to travel there. Canadian citizens who do not hold Iranian passports were banned from visiting Iran except through state-sanctioned tours...

CBC News finds a leftist clown to disavow radical clown terrorism

I saw this coming a mile away when I suggested that clowns should declare themselves as a religion so that they could stop being fined and arrested for wearing their gear and creeping people out in public.
Now we're getting, at CBC news of course, an article informing us that True Clowning is being perverted by a minority of radicals.
Which obviously is clownshit. Just because Agnes the Clown thinks terror doesn't belong in clowning doesn't mean it isn't a legitimate branch of clowndom any more than it disqualifies Corbynites who are sympathetic to terrorism from being part of UK's Labour movement. Everyone has their radical wing, but it's theirs and you have to either cut it loose or own it.
Just wait until one of them says, "Clowning is the entertainment of peace."
You have this entertainment where they hit each other, spray people with seltzer, knock each other down, smash pies into people's faces - for anyone who looks, it's evident that violence and terror is inherent in clown ideology.

Making clowning even more incompatible with western civilization is their practice of wearing facial coverings and baggy outfits to hide themselves.
Personally, I think our government has been infiltrated by subversive clowns. How else to explain how Canada's Immigration Minister is a red-nosed fool prone to saying unbelievably ridiculous nonsense?

The creepy clown craze has some people on edge leading up to Halloween, and not in the traditionally scary-yet-innocent way most are accustomed to at this time of year.

Two teens were given a slap on the wrist in mid-October after the pair dressed up as clowns and terrorized people in Winnipeg...
...Regardless to whether the stunts are meant as silly pranks, the humour is lost on many — including Sue Proctor.

Proctor has performed as a mime, clown and storyteller for more than 30 years. She recently earned a master's degree at Concordia University, where she studied the role of the clown for individual and social transformation.

Proctor spoke with CBC Up to Speed radio host Ismaila Alfa recently and explained that terror has no place in the clown world...

Anti-free speech protester at U of Toronto rally arrested for assault

On October 11th Professor Jordan Peterson held a demonstration at the University of Toronto to voice his concerns about political correctness. As expected, the radicals at the university’s student unions showed up to protest and shut down the professor’s speech. They (sort of) accomplished this by blasting white noise through a public address speaker system that was rented by a student union leader named Cassandra Williams.

If you’re one of the unfortunate people who relied on mainstream media reports from outlets like CityNews and the Globe & Mail – or the intentionally unbalanced reports by the campus Varsity newspaper – it’s likely you have a complete misunderstanding of what happened that day.

One of the most memorable moments of the protest was when Rebel Media’s Lauren Southern was assaulted by a trans woman who tried to grab away her microphone. Moments later, a protester who the Internet named “Smugglypuff” blatantly lied to police officers claiming that nothing happened. But Smugglys story doesn’t end there, turns out he/she/xe/ve/thon/hu/ge/zee is now facing criminal charges- but not for the reason you might think...

The Crook Versus the Monster

From Scott Adams' blog:
...Reality isn’t a factor in this election, as per usual. If the truth mattered, voters might care that the Democratic primaries were rigged against Sanders. They might care that the Clinton Foundation looks like a pay-to-play scheme. They might care that the FBI gave Clinton a free pass. They might care that we know Clinton cheated in at least one debate by getting a question in advance. They might care that Clinton’s dirty-tricks people incited the violence at Trump rallies. They might care that Clinton’s “speaking fees” were curiously high. They might care about all of that. But they don’t, because a crook is still a safer choice than a monster.

The biggest illusion this election is that we think the people on the other side can’t see the warts on their own candidate. But I think they do. Clinton supporters know she is crooked, but I think they assume it is a normal degree of crookedness for an American politician. Americans assume that even the “good” politicians are trading favors and breaking every rule that is inconvenient to them. I’ve never heard a Clinton supporter defend Clinton as being pure and honest. Her supporters like herdespite her crookedness.

Likewise, Trump supporters know what they are getting. They know he’s offensive. They know he’s under-informed on policies. They know he pays as little in taxes as possible. They know he uses bankruptcy laws when needed. They know he ignores facts that are inconvenient to his message. They just don’t care. They want to push the monster into Washington D.C., close the door, and let him break everything that needs to be broken. Demolition is usually the first step of building something new. And Trump also knows how to build things when he isn’t in monster mode...

The University of Toronto cares more about creating a climate of political correctness than it does in fostering intellectual development

University of Toronto psychology professor Jordan Peterson told LifeSiteNews Wednesday night he has no intention of obeying a directive in the University of Toronto’s “cease and desist” letter to stop talking and blogging about transgender pronouns.

“No I’m bloody well not giving in,” he said. “The bloody cowards. I’m very disappointed with the University of Toronto for not standing up for free speech but it’s not unexpected. I guess they don’t think it’s very important. The university is dead.”

Peterson went on the warpath two weeks ago against what he called “totalitarian” federal and provincial legislation and human rights regulations requiring institutions and companies to ensure their employees address students, staff and the public with the pronouns appropriate to the gender of their choice. But he said he would use the pronouns with his students called for by their biological sex.

But in three videos he insisted he would use the pronouns appropriate to their sex and objected to the climate of repression caused by federal and provincial anti-discrimination laws and the university’s order to its human resources employees to take anti-discrimination instruction.

The videos went viral. He was condemned by transgender groups, targeted at a protest, and at a free speech rally in his support, his speech drowned out by yells and “white noise” from his opponents.

Now the university has sent him a letter, signed by arts and science dean David Cameron and faculty and academic life vice-provost Sioban Nelson, paying lip service to free speech, then accusing him of violating the rights of his transgender students.

“Your statements that you will refuse to refer to transgendered persons using gender neutral pronouns if they ask you to do so are contrary to the rights of those persons to equal treatment without discrimination based on their ‘gender identity’ and gender expression,’” their letter states.

The letter reports that violence has been threatened against trans students and implies his videos are to blame. “We trust that these impacts on students and others were not your intention in making these remarks. … However, in view of these impacts, as well as the requirements of the Ontario Human Rights Code, we urge you to stop repeating these statements.”

“What they’ve done is they talked to their lawyers who’ve told them they could be charged with breaking the law if they let me continue to say what I’m saying,” Peterson told LifeSiteNews.

He said the university was itself giving in to pressure from a tiny group called the Black Liberation Collective, which, he claimed, “refuses to disavow violence,” and yet he is the one being implicitly accused of inciting violence. ..

Tarek Fatah: As America falls, India rises

...the United States has left a trail of destruction in every country it claims to have helped including Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria and now, Yemen.

After propping up Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, two terrorist-producing countries, perhaps America’s downward slide, seen in the context of its farcical presidential election, is nature’s way of settling scores.

The trouble is the Islamists do not simply seek the destruction of America.

They seek the end of civilization as we know it, and pray for an Armageddon promised in the books of Islamic sharia.

But who will pick up the baton from America as the giant falls?

It won’t be Europe, as Mark Steyn has correctly predicted, and certainly not the authoritarian regimes of China or Russia.

On Tuesday, The Independent reported on just one of the sledgehammer tactics adopted by China to fight rising Islamism among its Muslim minority.

Beijing is calling on people to report their neighbours, friends and relatives for “luring minors into religious activities".

New education rules coming into force in Xinjiang Nov. 1, threaten to remove children from their parents’ care and send them to “receive rectification” at specialist schools.

Notwithstanding the medieval ideology of the Islamists, China’s and Russia’s iron-hand authoritarianism will produce the opposite effect of what we want.

The one country that can take a lead in this global endeavour, post-America, is India....

David M. Haskell: Revisiting the free speech debate on campus

...Currently, the administration at the University of Toronto is deciding how to deal with a controversial professor, Jordan Peterson. Via media interviews and self-produced YouTube videos, Peterson has gone public with his concern that ideology is trumping factual evidence in academia; he contends that when certain facts offend the sensibilities of historically marginalized groups, the facts are required to “change” or be suppressed.

While his observations and arguments about the state of university culture are numerous and nuanced, what has generated the most media attention, and the most outrage from some groups on his own campus, is his public declaration that he will not use genderless pronouns — such as “they” — if asked to do so by a student who does not identify as “he” or “she.”

Last Wednesday, the U of T students’ union sent an open letter to administration demanding they wring an apology from Peterson and get him to remove his lectures from YouTube. Administrators were also told that in the future they must defend students against “prejudiced” comments from tenured professors.

It is my hope that U of T administration has the good sense to ignore these demands. Not because Peterson is right (I reserve judgment there) but because stifling free expression is wrong and it is heinously wrong when a university — a place supposedly dedicated to the free exchange of ideas — is the arbiter of that oppression.

Beyond the fact that freedom of expression is the key defence against totalitarianism, there is another reason U of T administrators should allow Peterson to continue unabated. Simply put, it is better for the students who are protesting.

University, at its best, tries to create opportunities to stretch students’ intellectual abilities. Here is such an opportunity and it has arisen organically. If Peterson is wrong, let these protesting students mount an intellectual offensive that is factually superior to his. It is intellectually lazy and worse, cowardly, to ask the administration to do their “homework” for them...

The University of Toronto has responded and the Administration's decision is cowardly and despicable. Abandoning any pretense at being a place that values free speech or genuine intellectual inquiry, it has decided to muzzle Jordan Peterson and deprive him of the right to express himself in a way he thinks is logical and appropriate.

Now that they are in power, the Liberals back away from their unpopular electoral reform proposals

The news that Justin Trudeau's Liberals are backing away from electoral reform should come as no surprise. The system they ran on changing is the one that delivered a majority government to them a year ago. There also is absolutely no indication that much of the public is particularly keen on altering an electoral process that has made Canada one of the most stable, free countries in the history of the world.
The press for Canadian Electoral reform has always been the itch of political crybabies bitter that they have been unsuccessful about getting candidates elected by the old system. Their answer was never to run better candidates, but to try to rig the system in their favor.
Now that it favors the Liberals, and with polls showing overwhelming public support for having a referendum on any change to the system, the Liberals are retreating on the issue.
While that is good news, Canadians should still be concerned that their government is one that has members who have actually suggested support for unethical electoral practices for the sake of achieving power.
"Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is suggesting electoral reform might not happen after all, despite an election promise that last year's vote would be the last one under the existing system.

And he also suggested there's less need for electoral reform now that the Conservatives are out of power.

Trudeau made the comments in an interview with Quebec newspaper Le Devoir. Speaking in French, he said the Liberal government will only change the first-past-the-post system if Canadians are open to it.

"We're not going to prejudge that it's necessary," Trudeau told Le Devoir.

The prime minister suggested Canadians are happier with the existing system now that Stephen Harper is out of office.

"With the current system, they now have a government with which they're happier. And the need to change the electoral system is less compelling," Trudeau said..."

Cruz calls for criminal probe into visits by ‘voter fraud operative’ to Obama White House

Sen. Ted Cruz called for a “serious criminal investigation” into multiple visits to the White House by Democratic consultant Robert Creamer after undercover videos showed he was involved in hiring protesters to disrupt Donald Trump events.

“Voter fraud operative: 45 meetings w/ Obama—this merits a serious criminal investigation (not a James Comey ‘friends and family’ cover-up),” the Texas Republican tweeted Wednesday, referring to Mr. Comey, FBI director.

Mr. Cruz’s comment came after the Daily Caller reported that White that Mr. Creamer has paid 342 visits to the White House, including 47 with Mr. Obama, since 2009.

The founder of Democracy Partners, Mr. Creamer announced Tuesday that he would step away from his work on the Democratic presidential campaign after undercover videos released by Project Veritas Action showed him discussing voter fraud and hired agitators at Republican campaign rallies...

Undercover report exposes how the Democrats and Hillary Clinton's campaign are planning to use voter fraud

NYC Mayor De Blasio tries to get rid of Democrat election official who detailed voter fraud

Mayor de Blasio on Friday demanded the resignation of a Board of Elections commissioner who said in an undercover video that the city’s municipal ID program is contributing to voter fraud at the polls.

Evidence emerges suggesting Clinton colluded with the FBI, Justice Department and State Department “to cover up criminal activity"

...Kennedy asked that the FBI’s classification level on an email related to the 2012 attacks on the U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya, be changed. Kennedy said that would ensure the document would be archived, “never to be seen again.”

The FBI did not change the classification level. The Associated Press reported about the secret Benghazi-related email in May 2015.

Trump’s campaign seized on the newly released FBI records as evidence of collusion within the Obama administration to protect Clinton.

Trump adviser retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn said in a statement that the documents “provide undeniable proof” that Clinton colluded with the FBI, Justice Department and State Department “to cover up criminal activity at the highest levels.”

He said Clinton “has recklessly put our national security at extreme risk.”

Meanwhile, Clinton’s camp is facing yet another embarrassing trove of hacked emails released by WikiLeaks...

Clinton Aide urged lies about Hillary's email fiasco

Hillary Clinton’s campaign spokesman urged a blanket denial that she ever sent classified information through her private e-mail system because anything less emphatic could open her to charges that she broke the law, according to the latest batch of e-mails purportedly stolen from her campaign and posted by WikiLeaks.

“We should not think it is fine to find something that ‘should have been classified at the time,”’ Brian Fallon, the spokesman, wrote other top campaign officials on Aug. 22, 2015, as they debated a statement Clinton would make on her use of an e-mail server in her home. "Our position is that no such material exists, else it could be said she mishandled classified info,” Fallon wrote.

Clinton spokesman Glen Caplin said Thursday that the campaign won’t confirm whether the messages are authentic.

The Democratic presidential candidate’s shifting explanations of her reliance on her own e-mail system for work-related messages when she was secretary of State is a major campaign issue. In Sunday’s debate, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump told her “you’d be in jail” for mishandling classified information if he were president...

Journalists shower Hillary Clinton with campaign cash

New Yorker television critic Emily Nussbaum, a newly minted Pulitzer Prize winner, spent the Republican National Convention pen-pricking presidential nominee Donald Trump as a misogynist shyster running an “ugly and xenophobic campaign.”

What Nussbaum didn’t disclose in her dispatches: she contributed $250 to Democrat Hillary Clinton in April.

On the nation’s left coast, Les Waldron, an Emmy Award-winning assignment editor at television station KFMB, the CBS affiliate in San Diego, swung right in July, shooting $28 to Trump.

And Carole Simpson, a former ABC “World News Tonight” anchor who in 1992 became the first African-American woman to moderate a presidential debate, is not moderate about her personal politics: the current Emerson College distinguished journalist-in-residence and regular TV news guest has givenClinton $2,800.

Conventional journalistic wisdom holds that reporters and editors are referees on politics’ playing field — bastions of neutrality who mustn’t root for Team Red or Team Blue, either in word or deed.

But during this decidedly unconventional election season, during which “the media” has itself become a prominent storyline, several hundred news professionals have aligned themselves with Clinton or Trump by personally donating money to one or the other...
