Klagsbrun was one of the first employees at Skoll's Participant Productions, where as a Strategic Planning and Creative Executive, he helped formulate the organization's unique model of tying social action campaigns to the company's films in partnership with legislators and social action groups.  That model is considered one of the main reasons of the tremendous success of Participant's Academy Award-winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth.

A writer and consultant who has been a fierce critic of the decline in standards in public education, particularly inToronto, Klagsbrun has been featured in national publications and as a television commentator.  He also served for a year as co-Chair of the School Council at Central Technical School, the largest school in Trinity-Spadina.

"We need a complete overhaul of the way education is delivered in Toronto's public schools, where our kids are becoming victims of a politicized curriculum,"  said Klagsbrun. Canadian Somali Congress head describes the Toronto District School Board as racist and insulting

This discussion/debate between Ahmed Hussen, the National President of the Canadian Somali Congress, the CBC's heavily biased Anna Maria Tremonti, and not-particularly-bright Toronto District School Board Trustee and identity-politics-in-the-classroom proponent Maria Rodrigues reveals much about how the TDSB is utterly failing its students.

As Mr. Hussen notes, the TDSB's actions are not only insulting to the Somali-Canadian community, they're racist:

Why you MUST READ one of the most awful books ever written

It's one of the most poorly-written books ever published, at least if the most commonly used English translation is anything to go by. The late Brazilian Maoist Paulo Freire's The Pedagogy of the Oppressed is filled with trite, jargony, Marxist proselytising, and could be easily dismissed as yet another demented, anti-Capitalist manifesto, but for the fact that it is compulsory reading in teachers colleges throughout North America.

If you were to learn that the textbook which is considered the seminal basis of education philosophy, affecting the teaching of children throughout every year of their public schooling, tries to instill admiration for a vicious mass murderer who invented the political concentration camp, you might find it just a touch odd.

Vladimir Ilyich Lenin was personally responsible for the abuse and murder of hundreds of thousands of people following the Bolshevik Revolution. He had his political rivals and opponents imprisoned, tortured and often murdered. His brutality set the stage for the horrific brutality of his successor, Josef Stalin, who was responsible for more deaths than Adolf Hitler. Lenin's political ideology was the basis for that of Mao Zedong, who was the most prolific mass murderer in the history of the world.

While for those of us who aren't sociopaths, such a person might not be considered the best role model to use for teaching youngsters, here's what Freire had to say in the book that your kid's teacher was forced to absorb:

...the revolutionary process is eminently educational in character. Thus the road to revolution involves openness to the people, not imperviousness to them; it involves communion with the people, not mistrust. And, as Lenin "pointed out, the more a revolution requires theory, the more its leaders must be with the people in order to stand against the power of oppression.

So when Freire discuses oppression and "the oppressed," his notion of oppression is capitalism and an education system that produced people like Robert Graves, Albert Einstein, Winston Churchill, Robert Frost, Thomas Sowell, Jonas Salk, and T.E. Lawrence. Freire's means of addressing this "oppression" is to adopt the ideology of a ruthless totalitarian who casually had people executed because their political outlook differed from his.

It sounds insane and evil. But Pedagogy of the Oppressed, considered the basis of Critical Pedagogy, is treated like liturgical canon at places like the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, which describes itself as the largest and most influential teachers college in Canada. In fact, OISE was the at the forefront of infusing Friere's theories into educational practice in the 1970's and 80's. That might account for the regular stream of deranged, idiotic, and perverse theses and teaching approaches coming from that institution. That of itself would be troublesome enough, but OISE sees its mission as transforming public education into one of its own image. It teaches the teachers leaving its doors that beyond educators, they should be activists in the classroom.

Their goal is no less than to create a generation of anti-Capitalist revolutionaries by manipulating them in the classroom from the moment they enter school. Or, as Freire himself put it:

Lenin's famous statement: "Without a revolutionary theory there can be no revolutionary movement" means that a revolution is achieved with neither verbalism nor adtivism, but rather with praxis, that is, with reflection and action directed at the structures to be transformed. The revolutionary effort to transform these structures radically cannot designate its leaders as its thinkers and the oppressed as mere doers.

The Toronto District School Board encourages students and teachers to read this book, and other bizarre tracts, to better understand issues of race, gender, sexuality and class.

Though it will be a tedious experience, you too should force yourself to read Freire's The Pedagogy of the Oppressed, in order to understand the vile ideas behind the dangerous turn that public education is taking.

Why would a terrorist bother to take out the Toronto District School Board's headquarters?

These deranged assholes are already doing more than any terrorist could dream of to destroy western civilization.

Whether Muslims can be homophobic makes TDSB heads explode, because they can't process an equation where two groups whose TDSB identity is wrapped entirely in victimhood come into conflict.

Genderism: the belief that the binary construct of gender, in which there are only two genders (male and female), is the most normal, natural and preferred gender identity. This binary construct does not include or allow for people to be intersex, transgendered, transsexual or genderqueer. 

But why worry? After all the TDSB is run with a degree of incompetence that suggests corruption, it'll probably be bankrupt in a few years anyway.

OISE pushing plagiarist-funded identity politics into public schools

Remember when you were a kid in grade school and Halloween was approaching?  The whole week before was a time of fun and anticipation. Never have I seen a kid, or even heard of one anecdotally, who wasn't happy about having a party at school, dressing up in costume and best of all, loads of free candy!

But that's not quite how they view things at the wretched Marxist cesspool of radical indoctrination for teachers called The Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE).

According to a new document called "The Professional Learning Series for Culturally Responsive and Relevant Pedagogy" prepared at that Mordor of Education, Halloween is not that time of joy you remember from your childhood, but is "a controversial Western holiday."

You might also have the foolish notion in your head that if someone immigrates to a country, they should take it upon themselves,  and encourage their children, to adapt to their adopted society and culture.

Silly you!. By saying such a thing aloud, you've engaged in hate speech according to the Toronto District School Board. That sort of fundamental logic only applies to Islamic countries, where they will beat a woman senseless should she dare to appear in public in immodest clothing. Or maybe also in a few exceptions like Quebec, where they have felt the need to take the drastic measure of banning religious garb at work for publicly paid employees.

But in the rest of this progressive land, as so deemed by the gatekeepers of educational totalitarianism at OISE, it is Canada that must bend to the will and culture of anyone who arrives on our shores and objects to the traditions we have insensitively practiced for generations.

observed that many students with cultural or religious
objections to the holiday had no choice but to sit in the
library during the celebrations. She realized that this
structure was inequitable and didn’t reflect the diversity
of the school. This teacher decided to convene a group of
teachers to discuss this issue and to host a fun event for
the students who couldn’t or chose not to participate in
the controversial Western holiday

Now,  is it so bad that children who were compelled by their parents to sit out the most fun day of the school year were provided with a fun alternative?  On the surface it might seem not. But think for a moment.

What this type of policy does, is to encourage people not to adapt to Canadian culture and tradition. The outcomes of that self-defeating approach can be seen in the poisonous culture of victimology that has infected myriad aspects of our society.

That poison is actively promoted at OISE, but that shouldn't be any surprise by now. OISE, which produces the people who create school curricula in Ontario, has played midwife to innumerable imbecilic ideas birthed at that institution. It's not just the students who produce deranged theses such as one that proclaims that western feminists opposed to female genital mutilation are lascivious racists motivated by an obsession with genitalia. Even the institute's administrators are pushing depraved bigotry, like OISE professor Sheryl Nestel, who claims Canadian Jews support Prime Minister Stephen Harper as a community to "maintain its place the racial order."

What's rather curious about the new OISE paper is that it acknowledges that it was funded in part by disgraced former Toronto District School Board Director Chris Spence, who resigned his position after numerous instances of his committing plagiarism, including in his doctoral thesis, came to light.

OISE wants your kids to choose their gender regardless of their sex

The paper is filled with the predictable stupidity one comes to expect from OISE. As an institution where ideology trumps facts and doctrine overrules science, it's hardly surprising that they want to undo the sort of gender distinctions that are a natural outgrowth of the biological differences between males and females.

Possibly less of a challenge to them is to try to shame kids away from using the word "gay" in a negative context. Still, they may have a hard time with that one too. I support gay rights and gay marriage, and do not think gays should face any form of legal discrimination. But even so, it should be rather obvious that as long as 98% of the normal male population continues to find the idea of having a penis shoved in their sphincter repugnant, getting rid of the negative connotation is going to be a hard sell.

 you're committing an OISE Hate Crime

Curiously, as these so-called Social Justice issues that OISE is pushing in public schools permeate more and and more of the curriculum in Ontario, the Minister of Education and the Toronto District School Board are in a quandary trying to figure out why their students' capabilities in mathematics have taken a corresponding nose dive.

TDSB Director Donna Quan has reportedly asked her principals to come up with ways to improve math scores in their schools and across the Board. What is curious is that they have missed the unmissable solution of focusing more on core subjects and less on the politicized, ideological bullshit coming from OISE. Then again, maybe not so curious.  Because to understand that would require a measure of basic common sense the people who run our education system have yet to demonstrate.

Toronto District School Board officially gives you all the finger

Senior staff at the Toronto District School Board received $1.29 million in salary increases despite a wage freeze between March 2010 and August 2013, according to a forensic audit released by the province Tuesday.

The improper raises, as well as unapproved contracts and misspent funds, were contained in a damning audit conducted by Ernst and Young LLP.

Some of the key findings: 

Wages for senior staff and supervisors paid in excess of the wage freeze for the period between March 2010 to August 2013.

Under procurement, 45 per cent of 20 sample transactions reviewed did not use a competitive bid process; almost half of those did not meet the approval requirements.

79 per cent of the transactions reviewed in the director’s office expenses did not use a competitive bid process.

Potentially ineligible trustee expenses, including a duplicate reimbursement for home internet charges, purchase of a tablet computer for over $100 more than what is allowed, and hotel expenses for a one-night stay in a downtown Toronto hotel.

$3.2 million in education programs spending may not have “been used in accordance” with ministry guidelines.

Ontario's Elementary School Teachers Union wants more children to be like the "genderless baby"

Don't you feel lucky to be living in Ontario, where the radical Elementary Teachers Federation published an article by the father of the notorious "genderless baby" advocating for more of the same in public schools?

"I work at City View Alternative Senior School in Toronto’s west end, a grade 7 and 8 school where the provincial curriculum is taught through the lens of social justice. Race, class, gender, sexuality, ability, power, and oppression are all integrated as the content material in many of the classes, along with an emphasis on activism and the need to do something to change the world rather than simply discuss it.

So it’s probably not surprising that one or more of our students began mucking with the signs on our washroom doors. A sketch of a pair of pants was taped on top of the skirt. A slip of paper that read “Not all girls wear dresses” appeared. And on the boys’ door: “Some boys wear skirts.”  "

Political indoctrination in the classroom

The following is from a blog created by an Ontario teacher named Lon Palmer and it makes for very informative reading:

...I went to – in fact, was forced to attend – a workshop on racism, in which I and my fellow teachers were told that the only people who could, by definition, practice racism were whites because racism, by definition, equals discrimination plus power, and whites are the only group that has power. That’s circular logic combined with a definition that you won’t find in Oxford or Webster. When I pointed out that the them director of the TDSB was black, I was informed, straight-faced, that he was the exception, and so, in short, did not count.

The overall effect of this is to create and foster a stereotype of white people as being racist to non-whites, while non-whites are incapable of being racist, which fosters antipathy towards whites who, quite rightly, resent that – hardly a formula for reducing racism.

What little true racism exists in our society, of course, exists on all sides. I have seen black students show prejudice against Asians, Asians against blacks, aboriginals against whites . . . like I said, it’s on all sides.

This week in deranged evil from the Toronto District School Board

The blog Socialist Studies is keeping an eye on the appalling abuses that routinely occur in Toronto's tax-funded public school system.

This week alone, the items include:

• One school endorsing a Holocaust-denying, 9/11 conspiracy theory promoting website and calling Canada's Prime Minister Harper a "fascist" 

• The TDSB promoting cross-dressing and gender switching to children as young as kindergarten age   More on that Here

• A high school named after the greatest opponent of Communism in the 20th Century promoting the communist totalitarian murderer Che Guevara.

This is all just the tip of the iceberg and is part of a huge file that suggests the leadership of the Toronto District School Board should be purged immediately. If the Ontario Public School System system and curriculum are not completely overhauled, these types of travesties will continue and get worse.

Another TDSB-related case of plagiarism

Matthew Lau, a young writer who has been the (credited) source of a number of items in Eye on A Crazy Planet had a recent article that he wrote for the website The Propagandist plagiarized by a Liberal Party staffer.

Even the headlines were identical.

It's good that the Liberal Party is finally taking notice of the important issues Matthew brought up in his article "The Toronto District School Board's plan to decolonize education".  The concern would seem more sincere if they actually looked into it themselves rather than just lift someone else's work and try to take credit for it.

Toronto District School Board endorses anti-Gay, misogynistic Islamic resource

Blazing Cat Fur had the details on the latest idiocy from the Toronto District School Board.

In fairness to the TDSB, they are not likely to be endorsing the homophobia and misogyny of the Islamic website SoundVision to which they repeatedly linked.  However, they should have known better than to use a video from the former Cat Stevens, now known as Yusuf Islam, who advocated the murder of author Salman Rushdie for having written the book The Satanic Verses.

This is just another of the many, ongoing examples of gross incompetence and ineptitude at the same school board that brought you the Mosqueteria and Veggie Sex for kids

Using a serial rapist as a role model for kids? Thanks again Toronto District School Board!

One of the TDSB's role models they extol for Black History Month is serial rapist Eldridge Cleaver.

In his 1968 collection of essays titles Soul on Ice, the former Black Panther leader wrote:

"Rape was an insurrectionary act. It delighted me that I was defying and trampling upon the white man’s law, upon his system of values, and that I was defiling his women – and this point, I believe, was the most satisfying to me because I was very resentful over the historical fact of how the white man has used the black woman. I felt I was getting revenge. 

I started out practicing on black girls in the ghetto where dark and vicious deeds appear not as aberrations or deviations from the norm, but as part of the sufficiency of the Evil of a day. When I considered myself smooth enough, I crossed the tracks and sought out white prey. I did this consciously, deliberately, willfully, methodically."

Interestingly, later in life, Cleaver renounced his past and became a conservative Republican. Naturally, the ideological nitwits at the TDSB omitted that from his biographical notes.

Though there are many incredible role models for Black History Month who are Republicans or conservatives, the fanatics who run the Toronto District School Board don't want children "of color" to grow up to admire anyone who doesn't embrace identity politics and entitlements.

Among the conspicuous omissions from the TDSB's list of role models are the brilliant authors and philosophers Shelby Steele and Thomas Sowell, the military hero and former Congressman Allen West, and Former US Secretaries of State during George W. Bush's Presidency, Colin Powell and Condoleeza Rice.

Making the list, aside from the rapist Cleaver, was anti-Semitic author Alice Walker and Liberal patronage appointee Anne Cools.

Toronto District School Board's partners OCAP hold "F*ck the Police" march

The appalling behavior and language from the mentally unbalanced fanatics at the Ontario Coalition Against Poverty (OCAP) during their "Fuck the Police March" last week is typical of that group. Carrying flags honoring Cuabn mass-murderer Che Guevara, they converged on Toronto's Police Headquarters where, ironically, the police protected them from oncoming traffic as the radicals hurled fowl-mouthed invective at the people whose responsibility is law enforcement.

Notable about this is that slow-witted leadership of the Toronto District School Board thinks it is appropriate to partner with the violent, radical OCAP and give them access to school children.




OCAP plans to gather at Toronto City Hall to harass the Community Development and Recreation Committee on Monday morning at 9 am. That may prove amusing.

City of Toronto funds anti-Israel, racist TDSB resource guide

On page 1 of  An Educator's Guide for Changing the World: Methods, Models and Materials for Anti-Oppression and Social Justice Workshops, its author,  Ann Curry-Stevens thanks the City of Toronto's Access and Equity Department for its financial contribution to the completion of the guide.

That office of Toronto's municipal government is under the aegis of Uzma Shakir, who in a posting at the radical neo-Marxist website rabble.ca wrote that because of the Canadian government's stance on Israel, Muslim immigrants do not necessarily owe loyalty to Canada.

Hardly any surprise therefore that the guide, which is endorsed by the Toronto District School Board Professional Library as a curriculum document, lionizes the fanatical anti-Israeli, anti-American zealot Rachel Corrie, who died as a result of playing 'chicken' with an Israeli military bulldozer in 2003.

Acclaim for a faux "peace activist" who was a member of a group that endorses violence against Israel is only the rancid cherry sitting atop a septic sundae of bigotry, fanaticism and hate being promoted by the Toronto District School Board.

Included in the gems of Ms Stevens' opus is the vapid, racist doctrine that all white people are racist, with only white people being branded with that hateful stigmatization.

We are also treated to the traits of being male being described as having "an assumption of superiority" and "the power to abuse."

The middle class and heterosexuals also get to play villains in the TDSB's comical piece of hysteria, being characterized as oppressors "being able to define history through the expenditure of public money" with "freedom from police harassment" and the "presumption of sexual innocence."

This sort of idiocy is typical of material promoted by the TDSB, but the City of Toronto financing such vile bigotry with tax dollars is reprehensible.

It's far past the time when the citizens of Toronto would benefit if the heads of the Toronto District School Board were removed.

And since the people at the top of the TDSB are clearly too idiotic to understand context, let me explain that in terms even someone as stupid as a Chief Academic Officer can understand, lest, like with blogger Blazing Cat Fur, the School Board send the police to my door.

By heads, I mean senior Administrative staff at headquarters. And by removed, I mean fired, not beheaded, as is done so often by those people that Rachel Corrie adored.

That'll learn ya! "Critical Thinkers" at Toronto District School Board complain to police about sarcastic blogger

At the Toronto District School Board and particularly at its ideological godmother, the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, they claim their goal is to produce critical thinkers. What they don't tell you is that by their definition, "critical thinking" means to think exactly the way they tell you to, without dissent...or else.

A Toronto blogger who goes by the moniker Blazing Cat Fur has been at the forefront of exposing the hypocrisy as well as the sheer idiocy promoted by the TDSB and it looks like they finally had enough.

Yesterday morning,the mild-mannered, law-abiding blogger received a visit from not one but two Toronto Police Service Detectives to investigate a sarcastic comment left on his blog musing, "OISE and the TDSB need to be purged, or burnt to the ground whichever is more effective."

Interestingly, when my friend, Muslim reformer Tarek Fatah, received an actual death threat via social media from someone in Toronto, the police didn't think it was worth their time to bother with that.

As usual, the TDSB brain-trust has made themselves look stupid and Blazing Cat Fur, as well as other critics of the preposterous social engineering attempts by the public school board, will redouble their efforts to expose them.

Toronto District School Board promoting cross-dressing to preschoolers

There's a difference between an Education expert and an Evolutionary Biologist. The latter requires facts and evidence and the former frequently will make up nonsense and try to indoctrinate children to it based on their ideological desires.

Homosexuality is a natural facet of mammalian life. It occurs in most species to some extent, but there is a biological reason for it. It occurs within a small minority and the biological reason is one of nature's ways of  implementing population control.

There is no moral judgement in that. Gays should be entitled to equal rights, be free from all forms of discrimination and Gay marriage can actually be beneficial for society.

But it's a far cry from that to saying homosexuality, something that occurs in about 2% of the population, is 'normal' or that gender is something that can be a choice.

These ideas are part of the idiocy fostered in places like the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education where some programs are comprised of majority Gay students and staff, and by their willing accomplices at Ontario's Ministry of Education and by the ridiculous leadership of the Toronto District School Board (TDSB).

Among the latest absurd attempts at social engineering, the TDSB wants to encourage cross-dressing in children as young as pre-school.

Among the books recommended to kids in pre-school to Grade 3 by the TDSB's Positive Spaces Resources is a book called My Princess Boy, the protagonist of which is a young boy who wears dresses and a tiara.

Evidently being Gay-positive isn't enough for the TDSB, it now wants, at the youngest age, to encourage boys to be flaming queens.

In a system where most children can't name all Canada's provinces and provincial capitals, it's heartening to know that they spend so much time emphasising  `gender choices.``

It`s hardly any wonder that so many university professors are noticing that students entering post-secondary studies don`t even know how to properly punctuate a sentence.

Toronto District School Board suspends teacher for jokes - keeps Communist indoctrination in classrooms

The Toronto District School Board is canvassing staff and students at a west-end high school to find out why a drama teacher distributed a list of “inappropriate” jokes, including one-liners about sex, blondes and dead babies. 

The jokes were part of a class assignment ostensibly intended to inspire students’ own comedic writing, but a complaint from a parent prompted the TDSB to place teacher Jeff Jones on “home assignment” while the board investigates.

Meanwhile the TDSB continues to promote Communism under the guise of "Social Justice."
