Turkey has asked Israel to agree to a toned-down version of the UN Secretary-General's report on last year's flotilla to Gaza, according to a senior government official in Jerusalem.
According to the official, the Turks are "very worried" about the harsh criticism of Turkey they expect the report to contain, and want Israel to agree to a softened version as part of a package deal to end the crisis between the two countries over the flotilla, which took place in May 2010.
..A draft of the report, due to be released within two weeks, was given to Israel and Turkey about six weeks ago. The committee determined that Israel's naval blockade of Gaza is in keeping with international law, and therefore its actions to stop the flotilla were also legal.
According to a senior government official in Jerusalem, the report criticizes the Turkish government and highlights the relationship between it and IHH, the group that organized the flotilla.
Celebrity bubblehead Brigette DePape, who thinks Canada needs an "Arab Spring" because she didn't like the outcome of its democratic election, has just declared her support for the Sea Hitler.
There's a surprise.
Tomorrow, Sea Hitler Nazi-supporters will be sullying Toronto's Bloor Street at 6 PM to protest outside the Israeli consulate.
When the NDP's most radical MP, Libby Davies challenged Israel's right to exist and endorsed a boycott of the middle east's sole democracy a year ago, she was immediately chastised by her party leader Jack Layton. NDP Foreign Affairs Critic and Deputy Leader Thomas Mulcair delivered the message from the top at the time saying, “No member of our caucus, whatever other title they have, is allowed to invent their own policy. We take decisions together, parties formulate policies together, and to say that you’re personally in favour of boycott, divestment and sanctions for the only democracy in the Middle East is, as far as I’m concerned, grossly unacceptable.”
Now the Official Opposition, it appears that Layton and Mulcair are continuing to have trouble keeping an incoherent caucus in line. Alex Atamanenko, the NDP's Parliamentary representative for BC Southern Interior has just become an official endorser of the Sea Hitler, the boat a number of Canadian Marxist and Islamist groups want to use to break Israel's arms blockade of Gaza.
In reference to the Sea Hitler, Canada's Forein Affairs Minister, John Baird, said "Unauthorized efforts to deliver aid are provocative and, ultimately, unhelpful to the people of Gaza. Canada recognizes Israel’s legitimate security concerns and its right to protect itself and its residents from attacks by Hamas and other terrorist groups, including by preventing the smuggling of weapons."
Israel is permitting humanitarian aid to Gaza through land crossings, and Egypt recently opened its Rafah crossing with Gaza, so the only apparent reason for the new flotilla is for propaganda purposes to vilify Israel and to support the terrorist government of Hamas' ongoing effort to smuggle in Iranian weapons.
Hamas has been responsible for thousands of missile attacks on the Jewish state since it withdrew completely from Gaza in 2005. Hamas' charter calls for the destruction of Israel and the murder of Jews. so they will undoubtedly welcome an endorsement from a Canadian parliamentarian, even from a party as incompetent and irresponsible as the one led by "Community Clinic" Jack Layton.
The only outstanding question is whether Thomas Mulcair has lost control or if he can rein in wayward, radical MPs in his party who are trying to undermine his brief.
The already tense relations between Israel and Turkey are about to get even more strained. Turkish TV stations and cinemas have began showing trailers of a violent, anti-Israel film focusing on a fictitious Turkish revenge campaign in response to the killing of nine flotilla activists by the IDF last May.
The film, "Valley of the Wolves – Palestine" will be released in January 28. It is being promoted as an anti-Zionist feature which is meant to raise awareness to "the Palestinians' terrible suffering" and shows Israel as a bloodthirsty regime. The $10 million production is the most expensive film ever made in Turkey.
The film's trailer shows a Turkish secret agent brutally murdering IDF soldiers in an attempt to take out the Israeli officer who planned the raid on the Marmara and oversaw it. Israelis are depicted as a nation of murderers seeking to build "greater Israel" on the bodies of Palestinians.
The film is the third is a series of features considered to be the Arab world's answer to "Rambo." The series is abundant in nationalistic-racist violent content and is directed against Turkey's enemies – The Kurds, Jews and Americans.
Jasiewicz was a participant in the recent flotilla aimed at disrupting Israel's sea blockade of Gaza. In public, the anti-Israel activists pretend that they are not there to help Hamas, but want to bring aid to the people of Gaza. But among themselves, they tell the truth. Watch her from the 7:45 point in the video at the end of this post. Jasiewicz admits that the purpose of the these "peace activists" is to help the "fighters" and the "armed resistance." It should be noted the "armed resistance" Jasiewicz speaks of is Hamas' random lobbing of missiles into civilian areas in southern Israel, an act described by the United Nations as a war crime.
A rather amusing part of the video comes at the 6:00 minute part when she is disingenuous to the point of being ridiculous by trying to explain that when Palestinians in Gaza say they want to "kill the Jews", they don't really mean Jews but just the "Zionists." (Those silly Gazans keep forgetting to use the code word in public!) This preposterous dissembling from Ms. Jasiewicz is characteristic of the bizarre psychological contortions these alleged "peace activists" engage in to try to mask their support for bigots and violent fanatics.
There really isn't much more that needs to be added to her words. She reveals that these liars hiding behind the "anti-war" mask aren't interested in peace, but want to facilitate the murder of Israelis by Hamas, a group that the Canadian government has designated as a terror group.
Yesterday with regard to the appearance at the bigots' conference by notorious anti-Semite Bongani Masuku, Jonathan Kay, in the National Post, observed :
As of noon Tuesday, Mr. Masuku was featured on the conference web site under the heading of “keynote speakers” — along with CUPW President Denis Lemelin. By early afternoon, after Mr. Masuku’s participation has been highlighted on the blog Eye on a Crazy Planet, his name had been scrubbed in favour of other officials from his organization, the Congress of South African Trade Unions, known as COSATU.
The status of Bongani Masuku's participation remains unclear for now. But the conference still currently boasts the appearance of Sidumo Dlamini, Masuku's bigoted boss at COSATU, who invoked conspiracy theories reminiscent of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion with his claim that Zionism is "a version of global racist domination." Dlamini is the sort of bigot who leads an organization that decided to protest against Israel, not by protesting in front of the Israeli Embassy in South Africa, or at the South African legislature, but by marching (illegally) through a Jewish neighbourhood as a clear message of threat and intimidation.
These are the people that CUPW are sponsoring to speak in Canada. The same kind of people who are behind the CUPW-sponsored "Sea Hitler". The leadership of CUPW needs to be held responsible for what they are doing.

Everything coming out of the politically motivated council's pre-determined inquiry into the flotilla raid in June by Israeli forces intercepting the flotilla attempting to violate the sea blockade of Gaza shows the need to scrap the UN as a serious decision making body and replace it with a League of Democracies, as suggested by John McCain and others.
GENEVA, Sept. 28 - The U.N. commission into Israel’s May 31 flotilla clash declared during a U.N. Human Rights Council debate today that “even if Bin Laden himself were on the Mavi Maramara, Israel’s blockade would still be illegal.”
The statement was made by commissioner Desmond de Silva in response to questions posed in the council plenary by the Geneva-based UN Watch as to why the probe ignored voluminous evidence it submitted regarding the stated intentions of the Islamist flotilla members to physically confront Israel and become “Shahids,” or martyrs.
The chair of the flotilla probe, Judge Karl T. Hudson-Phillips, said that he had never heard the term “Shahid” before. However, he insisted that, in any event, the intentions of the IHH activists carried no legal relevance.
Some international lawyers disagree. “It is astonishing that the UN panel now openly admits to disregarding our evidence as to the violent, Jihadist and suicidal intentions of the IHH militants on the Mavi Marmara,” said Hillel Neuer, executive director of UN Watch.
“That the head of the probe said he never heard the word ‘Shahid’ before today means that he never even looked at the numerous video testimonies and other compelling evidence that we submitted to his inquiry,” said Neuer
So two of them put their little brains together to compose a page called "Name-calling won't sink Boat to Gaza."
David Heap, a French instructor at the University of Western Ontario and Dylan Penner, who is the Media Officer for The Council of Canadians, the NDP affiliated organization headed by Maude Barlow, co-penned a petulant whine, riddled with paranoid chestnuts like:
"Name-calling in the media, just like intimidation visits by CSIS agents to our homes, will not deter us from our goal."
I don't know why these half-wits are so sensitive to criticism. Evidently, they are so oblivious to ridicule that they posted a link on their website to an interview on The John Oakley Show where the Canadian Gaza Boat's leader is made to look like a fool and leadership of The Canadian Union of Postal Workers who support them are depicted as bigoted morons who are deceiving their union's membership. Or maybe they just believe in the old adage, "there's no such thing as bad publicity."
Anyway, it appears the crew-in-waiting for The Sea Hitler have caught the sailing bug and are going to attempt a fundraiser on a boat on Lake Ontario this September 25th. For $75 to $1000 you too can have falafel balls on Lake Ontario to the strains of middle eastern undulating tongue music.
Knives and pipes in case of boarding by the Toronto Harbour Police are optional but recommended.

On June 14, Palestinian terrorists opened fire on a police car travelling on a road, en route from Beersheba to Jerusalem. One policeman, Yeheshua Sofer was killed. Two others were wounded. Sofer was due to be married in three months. It took a month but members of the cell were finally captured. They spoke quite freely about this attack and others they had planned for killing Israelis.

This controversial BBC documentary has inspired a flood of complaints from the anti-Israel lobby because it tells the truth about what happened on the Mavi Marmara and the truth is not favourable to Turkey, the "Free Gaza Movement" and the so-called "peace activists" who were in fact self-professed "martyrs."

The new list is all committee approved before it gets to their website and hasn't grown since we had our fun with them.

UPDATE 2: The humourless socialists and Islamists trying to raise funds for the Canadian Gaza boat have re-posted the list but have excised all the good names. Evidently they learned a lesson (likely amid a lot of cursing in the name of Allah, Richard Dawkins and Naomi Klein) and are now screening the suggestions before they publish them. But we still have the screen shot on the left that will live on as a reminder of the clever names they discarded. Whatever the totalitarian-minded fanatics use in the end, to me, their boat will always be The Sea Hitler.
A group of Canadian Islamic and Marxist/anarchist groups recently announced their intention to attempt to raise $300,000 to take a Ship of Fools to Gaza, ostensibly to alleviate the "humanitarian crisis" there.
Does this mean they will be carrying essential items like blu-ray players and cappuccino makers to resupply this luxury mall that opened in Gaza last weekend?
The Ship of Fools is accepting applications for berths. Qualifications: passengers must be more interested in ideological propaganda than truth. Ability to lie to television reporters considered an asset.

“When leading news outlets mention the so-called humanitarian flotillas from Turkey, why do they omit the fact that life expectancy and literacy rates are higher, and infant mortality rates are lower in Gaza than corresponding rates in Turkey? Have they considered that perhaps the humanitarian flotillas ought to be going in the other direction, towards Turkey?”
Aid to Gaza not delivered through recognized governmental or non-governmental organizations would likely come under the aegis of Hamas and so what is being proposed is de facto material support for that group. The Canadian government has designated Hamas as a terrorist organization, so this effort may be in violation of Canadian law.
Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan has been trying to bolster his standing in the Islamic world with his strident posturing against Israel since the 2008 Gaza conflict. The situation seemingly came to a boil following the flotilla incident where 9 Turkish activists were killed when they attacked Israeli soldiers boarding the flotilla vessel, Mavi Marmara.
But the Turkish military, which sees itself as the protector of the secularism ushered in by Kemal Ataturk and which has, over the years, taken action to prevent a return to Sharia rule, still values its relationship with Israel and the West.
According to this article in The New York Times, it appears despite the hyperbole from Erdogan, as far as Turkey and Israel are concerned, it's still business as usual.
