"There is a misperception, if you will, in critical response or even in Hollywood, that I can only do exaggerated characters. Or what they would call over-the-top performances." He pauses, as if issuing an historic statement from the podium: "Well, this is completely false."

Nicholas Cage and Bette Davis are the two performers whose movies I will always stop and watch, no matter what. I can't explain it except that neither of them give a damn. Con Air was on A&E yesterday and even edited to shreds, that was it. I didn't get any work done for 90 mins.
I like Nick Cage too, and he can be a wonderful actor at times. Adaptation is an example of how capable and versatile he is as a performer. And he has done some incredible action flicks, like Con Air and The Rock.
Bit the crazy Nick Cage mode does turn up a lot. I think that's to be expected when he does a movie with a bad script for the paycheck.
