Harold Lloyd was one of the great trio of early film comedians, along with Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton.
Lloyd's movies were filled with incredible slapstick and stunts, with Lloyd doing almost all his own stunt work. Making it all the more amazing was that he was missing the thumb and index finger on his right hand, which was covered up by a special prosthetic glove he used when on camera.
An interesting aside about Lloyd is that following his movie stardom, he became a cheesecake photographer as a hobby, his subjects including Marilyn Monroe and Bettie Page.
Safety Last! is probably Lloyd's best known silent movie, and there are some images in it you are sure to recognize. Enjoy and have a happy 2014!
